Quetzal and Agua’s little spirit clone soared through the skies, weaving around the mountainous cliffs surrounding the crater oasis at breakneck speed. Quetzal’s sharp erald eyes scanned the rocks and crevices, searching for any entrance to another cave. However, where his detection abilities led him to be a more open area, unlike the cave interiors they had explored twice before.

Thanks to his new chanical wings, part of the "ornants" Khepri had ntioned, his flying speed had improved dramatically. He moved so swiftly that he resembled a barely visible green blur streaking across the sky. The wings seed to possess other abilities as well, but Quetzal had had little ti to test their full potential. He was in a hurry to secure the remaining two parts before the others finished their tasks. Agua constantly updated him on their progress, and he didn’t want to lag behind and arrive after everyone else was done.

"Can you sense where the third ornant is, Quetzal?"

"Yes, it’s... over there!"

His chanical wings surged with power, releasing powerful erald winds that propelled him through the skies. Quetzal zigzagged around the cliffs, deftly avoiding dangerous, pointed rocks that rose like spires across the crater oasis.

Finally, he spotted it.

"There!"

He and Agua’s little spirit clone arrived at their destination: a massive nest made of dried leaves, sticks, and green crystals. The orichalcum cube containing Quetzal’s ornant rested atop the nest, surrounded by large yellow eggs.

"A nest? It looks like it belongs to a giant bird!" Agua exclaid.

She noticed the eggs were enormous, far too large for an average bird monster to lay. If anything, the creature that laid them might be even larger than Quetzal in his transford state.

"The cube is over there, Quetzal. Hurry!"

Quetzal nodded and swooped down as quickly as he could, extending his hand toward the cube and touching it.

FLAAASH!

The cube rapidly shapeshifted, transforming into his third ornant: a massive piece of armor with sharp chanical talons made of gold, green, and silver tal, embedded with green jewels. It appeared to be leg armor, which quickly dissolved into particles of green light and rged with him.

"It’s done. We should get out of here before the mom cos—"

"CRYAAAAAHHHH!!!"

The mother arrived faster than Quetzal had anticipated, and she wasn’t alone—a father accompanied her. They were gigantic beaked wyverns with long golden beaks, green scales, and colorful feathers. Each stood over ten ters tall, with enormous, vibrant wings and furious crimson eyes. Their auras radiated imnse power, marking them as Tier 8 monsters, far stronger than the average wyverns. These creatures, living far from the village or the oasis, were a rare and formidable pair.

If Aquarina’s system were present, it would have identified them as [Iridescent Tempest Wyverns], mighty and rare wyvern-type monsters that mated for life.

"They’re coming!" Agua shouted, releasing a wave of icy winds that forced the wyverns to veer back, startled as they feared the gusts might knock their eggs from the nest.

"We’d better escape. I don’t want to kill them if they’re protecting their eggs. It would be too cruel," Quetzal said.

"You’re too kind, but you’re right!" Agua agreed. "Let’s hurry!"

With Agua perched on his right shoulder, Quetzal spread his wings and flew away. The two giant wyverns gave chase, unleashing storms of cutting winds and powerful thunderbolts.

"You won’t give it a rest?" Agua roared.

Channeling her spiritual powers into her small spirit body, she unleashed a thick white cloud of frigid winds.

"Graaack!"

The wyverns, caught in the cloud, shivered intensely. As cold-blooded creatures, the freezing temperatures slowed and weakened them. They quickly retreated to their eggs, abandoning the chase.

"You did it, Agua. Thanks. I was about to consider kicking them or sothing," Quetzal said.

"No problem! Phew... Now we need to find the fourth ornant. Where is it?"

"Over there!"

Quetzal pointed into the distance, far beyond the crater oasis. It seed the final piece lay in a nearby dune made of salt.

"That’s too far away!" Agua exclaid.

"Then we’ll have to hurry!"

FLAAASH!

Resembling a blur of green light, Quetzal sped across the skies, soaring over the sands and the dry steppe. He rapidly approached a gigantic cactus.

"Wow, that’s a huge cactus. I don’t rember it being there," Agua said, puzzled. "Wait!"

"GYOOOHHHH!"

Out of nowhere, the fifty-ter-tall cactus began to move. With four massive legs and two enormous arms, it swung at Quetzal.

"Quetzal, evade!"

"I know!"

Quetzal darted swiftly, dodging the cactus’s deadly blows. He swung his claws, unleashing gusts of cutting winds that enveloped the cactus.

"HAAAAH!"

"{Thunderous Tempest Claws}!"

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Slashing attacks tore into the Wandering Titan Cactus, slicing chunks from its body. Sweet cactus juice splattered across the desert, attracting a nagerie of small animals and birds’ eager to drink it.

"GRYOOHHH!"

The Wandering Titan Cactus roared in irritation, its spikes growing long as it swung its arms toward Quetzal.

"The spikes!"

"Damn it!"

Quetzal’s aura flared, enveloping his body. It rotated around him, allowing him to slice through the spikes at high speed.

"{Spinning Tornado}!"

His body transford into a massive, spinning tornado, crackling with thunderbolts. It pierced through the cactus’s spiked arms and then its body.

BOOOMMM!!!

An explosion of winds, thunder, and cactus flesh echoed through the skies. Sweet juice and fruit-flavored cactus flesh rained over the desert below.

"You did it, Quetzal! And the animals seem happy to have so much food!" Agua said.

"Haha, I guess..."

As animals and monsters gathered for the unexpected feast, Quetzal reached the Salt Dunes. He kicked a hole into the underground caves with his legs.

CRAAASH!

"There!"

He found the final orichalcum cube and touched it. It rapidly transford into the last ornant: another piece of leg armor, completing the set of two wings and two leg armors.

"It’s fully assembled! Let’s go back now! Hurry! Everyone’s fighting powerful enemies, and they’ll need your help!"

"Y-Yeah!"

As Quetzal grappled with the mories unlocked by the new ornant, he nodded, leaping into the air and heading back to the fire ant nest.

At the sa ti, fragnted mories of the spirit flooded his mind. Quetzal learned of his origins and his true na. He discovered he wasn’t a wrathful god, as many believed, but a great spirit created to fight monsters on the surface of the ancient world. He had companions and friends he enjoyed pranking and talking with, known for his endless chatter. The contrast between who he once was and what he had beco was staggering.

"So this was who you truly were, Eurus?"
