"Thank you for your kind words, Marie. I do feel happy regardless of having lost. I think letting out all that accumulated power and fighting soone I’ve always looked up to like my sister felt nice... I guess my father and mother are also really strong, but I never truly saw them as rivals the way I do my big sister. Maybe it’s natural for siblings to have these rivalries," Zephyrus said.

"I never had siblings, so I don’t understand that..." Marie said. "But master’s power is magnificent. So strong... Don’t be sad! You’re very strong..."

"I understand, I understand," Zephyrus laughed as Marie began grooming his hair with her beak. "Ouch, you’re doing this again, huh?"

"I don’t know why, but I think it makes you feel better..." she said, unaware that for humans it was a little painful.

"Well..." Zephyrus didn’t want to complain. Living with a giant bird like Marie had its own difficulties. She was different from any Spirit or Familiar due to her imnse strength, intelligence, and impulsiveness.

He literally had only one familiar and no contracted spirits. Marie alone was enough to bring Zephyrus almost to the sa level as his sister... and, of course, there was that dark power within him.

"Are you there? Hey?"

He spoke into his soul for a mont, trying to reach soone he had begun conversing with for a while now, an Entity that had tornted him in nightmares until they managed to block those dreams altogether. It had returned during his trial, and he had faced it many tis to finally "ta" it to an extent.

"...What do you want?"

A voice composed of hundreds of different voices echoed tenebrously from his soul. Zephyrus noticed countless crimson eyes opening amid an eternal sea of darkness.

He always felt chills whenever he saw that, but after six years of continuous, never-ending training, he had grown rather accustod to the sensation.

"What do you think now, buddy? She’s strong, right?"

"..."

"Back then when we were fighting, I kept telling you that I would gladly let you fight powerful people like you wanted. So what do you think?"

"...That red-haired half-elf was your sister?"

"Yes, weren’t you paying attention?"

"To she looked different."

"...What?"

The Entity fell silent for a mont before finally speaking once it was certain of what it had seen through Sylph’s eyes.

"Beyond her physical appearance I saw a Giant Made of Light."

"...?!"

"A trendous, gigantic soul flowing endlessly with the essence of the universe..."

"What?"

"What is your sister?"

"S-She’s... my sister, right? Sylphy... what are you even talking about?"

"Huhuh... Hahahaah...!"

"Why are you laughing?"

"To think such a monstrous alien had landed on the planet I swore to protect... well, it’s interesting. Perhaps if we play our cards right, we could truly overthrow those invaders now."

"...What? What are you saying? Alien? What’s that?"

"Her Soul Origin... well, you’ll find out on your own one day. A secret like that cannot be kept forever. One day, she will be forced to reveal it all if she still wants to keep the bonds she has forged."

"..."

Zephyrus was left shaken, unable to fully grasp what the Entity was saying... but from what he could gather, it was sothing ominous about his sister.

However, Zephyrus loved his sister too much to ever distrust her in such a way. He decided the Entity was just spouting nonsense because it was salty it had lost.

And well, he wasn’t that far off the truth.

"You must learn to channel more of my power. The next ti we fight her, I want a victory!"

"Hah, well, I’ll try."

"Hmph... To think I would be confined with such an insignificant thing as you. I loathe the thought of spending eternity by your side."

"Whatever you say."

"..."

The Entity quickly closed its countless red eyes and went back to sleep, leaving Zephyrus alone after he had woken it up just to annoy it.

"Welp... Ugh, I’m kind of hungry, but I should just sleep it off," Zephyrus yawned. "In my current state, I can hardly move..."

"Hmm? Soone is coming, master..." Marie said, looking toward the door of Zephyrus’ room.

Suddenly, the door slowly opened. A small figure entered, illuminating the dark room with floating will-o-wisps summoned around her body.

"Huh?" Zephyrus slowly opened his eyes and found no one else but Celica. She looked slightly scary hiding in the darkness, only faintly illuminated by ghostly fire. "C-Celica?!"

"Ahhh! S-Sorry! I didn’t intend to wake you up...!" Celica said. "I’ll leave you alone...! I was just... bringing you sothing to eat. But are you too tired? Should I co tomorrow?"

"No, no, it’s fine, stay..." Zephyrus said, extending his hand toward her and slowly sitting up. He had been healed completely, but his bones and muscles were all sore from the intense battle. Once he fully recovered from that, he would probably beco stronger.

"Ah... Um, are you feeling alright?" Celica asked.

"I’m fully healed. It’s just muscle and bone soreness—too much effort tires them out trendously," Zephyrus sighed. "Once it goes away I think they will beco stronger, so it’s a good thing."

"I see..." Celica sat down next to his bed and placed a small wooden table with the food she had brought beside her. "I brought you so of your mother’s stew with bread and milk. If you want more to eat, I can bring it to you."

"Ah, thank you..." Zephyrus smiled. As he reached for the spoon, it slipped from his hands. "Ugh, damn it..."

"Hmm, okay, let feed you," Celica smiled.

"W-What? Really? But that’s..." Zephyrus felt embarrassed, but Celica didn’t hesitate. She quickly began feeding him with the spoon.

"Here," she said. "Co on, I’ll help you eat."

"...Thanks..." Zephyrus sighed, slowly eating the stew with her help. "So... Uh... Well, I lost, huh? It was a fun fight though. Big sis sure is amazingly strong."

"Hehe, she is," Celica nodded. "But despite her strength... Sylphy has a lot of flaws herself. She usually tends to be forgetful and clumsy!"

"Is that so? Well, I do rember a bit..." Zephyrus nodded, smiling lightly.

"But you were amazing though, Zephyrus. The way you fought relentlessly—it was incredible," Celica said. "It almost felt like I was being inspired just watching you fight... You pushed Sylphy so much, she had to constantly unleash more and more of her hidden power to face you."

"Really?" Zephyrus asked, feeling a flush of embarrassnt.

"Yeah, so don’t feel bad about losing..." Celica smiled. "I think you were amazing... And I hope you can use that power to help the world beco a better place..."

"I will," Zephyrus nodded. "Thank you for being here, Celica..."

"Hm," Celica nodded. "So are you still hungry? Do you want seconds?"

"No, I think I’ll rest for now," Zephyrus said. "Thank you for taking care of ..."

"It’s nothing..." Celica smiled. "Well, then, see you tomorrow morning. Have a good rest."

"Yeah, you too..." Zephyrus said as Celica left his room.

Zephyrus glanced at the moon shining in the night sky. The words Celica had spoken to him still resonated within his mind.

"To use my power to make the world a better place, huh? I will try..."
