Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out? Chapter 2055: Interrumpted Evolution
-----
Out of nowhere, everything began to fall apart. The evolution Beelzebub was about to undergo failed and threatened his very life as he suddenly laid bare the truth within his heart.
Beelzebub confessed that he wasn’t fit to be a demon king. His words struck deeply, forcing to realize just how selfish I had been for imposing such a burden on him—even though he had been the one to ask for it.
He spoke from the depths of his heart, revealing the imnse pain he had endured and showing how desperately he no longer wished to exist.
"Beelzebub! Don’t die!"
As he tried to cancel the evolution and end his own life, I stopped him. Pouring every ounce of my Quintuple Yggdragon Aura and the power of the Void itself into the effort, I forced his cocoon to remain intact even as he shattered it into countless pieces.
Using all my healing abilities, I constantly and forcefully nded him back together, even though he truly didn’t want it—even though I should have respected his decision and let him die as he wished.
Because... I am indeed an incredibly selfish person.
"Why? Why do you keep insisting when you know that all I’ve truly wanted this entire ti is to die?!" Beelzebub scread. Thunder and blood erupted from his cocoon. "Let die! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, SYLPHY! WHO ARE YOU TO TELL WHAT I MUST DO?! YOU PUT ON THIS ENTIRE DEMON KING FAÇADE! YOU FORCED TO DO THIS! YOU! YOU DAMN BRAT!"
RUMBLE!
Purple thunder and demonic energy slamd into my body with explosive force. I vomited blood but refused to let go, forcing him to stay whole while desperately healing his cocoon.
"NO, I WON’T LET YOU DIE!"
"YOU SELFISH FUCKING BRAT! I’M DONE WITH THIS! WITH THIS ENTIRE THING! LET DIE! EVERYONE I LOVE IS DEAD! WHY WOULD I CONTINUE LIVING SUCH A POINTLESS LIFE?!"
Through the cracks in his cocoon, I glimpsed his bug-like face. He was crying blood, screaming his soul raw, revealing to everyone that Beelzebub had been cursing his own life and fate this entire ti.
"Everyone you love is dead?! Then what are we?!"
Furoh shot into the skies, reprimanding Beelzebub while staying close to . He took the form of a giant Fenrir.
"I thought we were friends! We don’t get along all the ti, but I do like you, dude! I enjoy your stupid company!"
Ignatius roared at him, flas spilling from his jaws as he poured out everything he thought and felt about their friend.
"Beelzebub! I thought you were my uncle? I thought you were my family? Why are you like this? Why do you want to die? I’ll miss you! Curse’s sacrifice... it was so sad! Please don’t die!"
Naturia cried tears of light as she called his na with her innocent voice.
"Beelzebub, we might have never interacted much before, but you are a valuable ally and soone we all rely on. Perhaps you’ve never felt that way, but you are indeed part of this family."
Even Nephilim, knowing she wasn’t as close to him as the others, stepped forward to speak a few quiet words.
"What do you think you’re doing, Beelzebub?! Do you truly believe this tantrum of yours is going to solve anything?! You’re going to kill yourself for nothing! What about avenging your disciple? What about changing the world with us? What about saving the demons and protecting them as the new demon king, so this endless cycle of death can finally stop?!"
Yggdrasil flew into the skies and scread with everything she had, revealing that she too saw him as family and refused to let him die a pointless death.
Their words resonated deeply within Beelzebub. His eyes widened as he cried both tears and blood in disbelief.
"D-Do you truly an it?"
"These were words they had never told him directly," I said, "because everyone here is stubborn and a little selfish—just like . Because we’re a family, we all felt we didn’t need to remind each other how much we care... but that was wrong! We were wrong! We were selfish and blind, so caught up in our own lives that we didn’t see how much you were suffering! But that doesn’t an we don’t love you! We all make mistakes! You as well—you never told us if you ever cared for any of us, or if we ever ant anything to you!"
"...!" Beelzebub was stunned, his eyes widening. "Y-You do an sothing to ! I... I have been keeping it to myself, but you are important...! I... Wait, what am I even saying right now?! Are these words truly coming out of my mouth?!"
"SEE?!" I shouted angrily. "SEE?! YOU DO CARE FOR US! We care for you too, idiot! Dumbass!"
"You damn stupid bastard!" Ignatius roared. "Don’t you dare die! I want to see your evolution, and once I evolve, we can fight with all our power and finally settle who is the strongest!"
"We’ve always been friends even though we never said it!" Furoh declared. "Beelzebub, I simply cannot imagine a life without you by my side! I don’t want you to die. We’re brothers, rember? We are both demons, struggling, surviving, and working to create a better future for demonkind together!"
"Uncle Beelzebub, please don’t die!" Naturia cried. "I want to hear more demon bedti stories from you! And I like the cake you cook for sotis! I want you to eat my fruits and say they’re all sour but still eat them all!"
"He cooks cake for you?!" Ignatius, Furoh, and I exclaid in shock.
"You’ve heard them all, Beelzebub!" Yggdrasil demanded. "You’ve known this entire ti how much we all care for you! So please, stop this! Enough is enough!"
"E-Everyone...! Eugh...! Unngh, damn it!" Beelzebub cried. His tears flowed across the cocoon, lding with it.
Yet the damage was too severe. His outburst of anger and self-destruction had created far too many cracks, leaving the cocoon critically damaged beyond easy repair. We had to do sothing, or else...
"I-I can’t—Ugh! The cocoon... if it falls apart, I’ll die..." Beelzebub sobbed. "I’m sorry, everyone...! I-I...! I was so foolish!"
"Yeah, you were!" Ignatius roared. "Sylphy, use Alchemy! Give him our power!"
Ignatius had suddenly co up with a ridiculous idea.
