"I am not a student..." Gurath said with visible difficulty while speaking to Volka for quite so ti in order to clear up the misunderstanding.

Apparently, the Black Dragon had genuinely assud that Elder Gurath was another late participant sent to attend the summoning class.

anwhile, Sénior’s attention had shifted elsewhere.

More specifically, toward Voomie.

"This dog looks strange," Sénior comnted honestly while staring at the dog.

"You look strange! Your whole family looks strange, woof!" Voomie barked back imdiately.

Bonjour watched their interaction with clear amusent before shifting his attention toward Ryan.

"Why are you the only one left without a summon?" he questioned.

Ryan imdiately suffered what felt like critical blow to mind.

He turned toward Bonjour with a nacing glare.

"I’ll get the greatest summon here right now!"

"Sure, sure..." Bonjour replied dismissively.

The summoning sequence then resud once more, and eventually only a single student remained.

It was Ryan.

At last, he stepped forward dramatically while brushing his hair back.

"Haha! My ti to shine has finally arrived! I choose a spirit summon!" he declared loudly.

"Calm down first," Volka replied while rubbing his forehead slightly.

"At least wait for the Spirit Crystal to react."

anwhile, Gurath quietly observed the entire situation.

Ryan confidently grabbed the Spirit Crystal.

However, the crystal only emitted a rather dim glow.

Ryan’s expression imdiately stiffened.

"No way..." he muttered in disbelief before quickly recovering.

"Instructor! I still choose the spirit summon!"

Volka simply pointed toward the summoning circle.

"Stand there."

Ryan imdiately entered the spirit summoning formation before injecting his energy into the circle exactly as instructed.

Though most students could not perceive it clearly, the formation itself perford the majority of the work while rely using Ryan’s energy as the catalyst.

The summoning circle glowed with a golden radiance.

Then Ryan’s consciousness was pulled into the shared ntal space connected to the summoning ritual.

Or rather, a shared ntal space involving three separate entities.

The mont Ryan opened his eyes, he found himself standing inside a collapsing world filled with cracks, ruins, and floating fragnts of shattered land.

And standing before him, was an old man.

The man possessed gray hair, black eyes nearly identical to Ryan’s own, and an atmosphere that felt strangely familiar.

"I can finally speak with you properly here," the old man said slowly.

Ryan stared at him in shock.

"Sword spirit?" he muttered instinctively.

This was the secret Ryan had carried for years.

The strange sword passed down through his family.

A mysterious heirloom said to possess a dormant spirit.

And now, seeing the old man directly before him, Ryan strangely felt as though he were eting an actual family mber.

"I don’t even know how many years have passed since I last spoke with soone carrying our bloodline," the old man muttered while looking at Ryan carefully.

"All your forefathers were trash. If not for the sword appearing ordinary even to powerful experts, it would have been stolen long ago."

Ryan’s expression twitched slightly.

"And this summoning system..." the old man continued while observing the surroundings.

"Interesting. In our era, the Spirit World and the Earthly World only cooperated through iron-blooded alliances during war. Has a new agreent been ford between the two planes? If peace truly exists now, then perhaps this age is not entirely hopeless."

"Old man, what exactly are you talking about?" Ryan asked with confusion.

"Ignorant of your own origins... haha" the spirit muttered before laughing softly.

"I suppose ti truly passes quickly."

His expression then slowly beca grave.

"But what a dreadful feeling that was," he continued.

"Such a potent bloodline appearing in this era... and one connected to that existence no less. Even recalling that sensation still sends chills down my spine."

The old man recalled ancient figures from his ti.

Figures so monstrous and legendary that even he had once admired them from afar.

And among those figures, there existed one whose bloodline still carried terrifying weight even after countless generations.

"What nonsense are you babbling now, sword spirit?" Ryan asked again.

anwhile, the old man observed him silently.

’The bloodline has diluted too much,’ he thought inwardly.

’If this child had not experienced slight bloodline regression, perhaps even I would have been lost to ti...’

Ryan had carried that sword since childhood.

Because of their connection, the old spirit understood most things about him.

His dreams, his personality.

Even his ridiculous ambition to beco sothing like a Small rcenary King.

Suddenly, the old man burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha..."

For so reason, he genuinely found the entire situation amusing.

And then finally, the third presence finally arrived.

The spirit Ryan had originally intended to summon through the ritual.

And surprisingly, it was human.

"OHOYO! I sensed the calling of destiny itself, so you must be the chosen one!" a man suddenly declared dramatically as he appeared within the shared ntal space.

The man looked exactly like the stereotypical description of a thief one would find in cheap adventure stories.

ssy hair, suspicious smile, questionable clothing, and an expression that practically scread "untrustworthy."

"But who is this old man?" he added while pointing toward the sword spirit.

"A calling of destiny..." the old sword spirit muttered suspiciously before suddenly turning toward Ryan.

"Ryan, does a God of Destiny exist during your era?" he asked seriously.

"Or have you at least heard that na before?"

"I think so..." Ryan replied uncertainly while trying to recall the stories his father occasionally ntioned.

"Though I don’t really rember the details."

"Hey, old man! I asked you a question first!" the newly arrived spirit complained loudly.

The sword spirit ignored him completely.

"Spirits rarely maintain a fully human form unless they are born from obsession, deliberately nurtured through special thods, or tied to a human soul," he analyzed calmly while observing the newcor carefully.

"And from what I can sense, you were originally human yourself. So tell , how are you retaining your personality so perfectly?"

The strange man blinked once, then he looked offended.

"Old man, do you have dentia?" he asked honestly.

"I’m a Heroic Spirit."

"Heroic Spirit... this is a new term," the sword spirit repeated thoughtfully.

Then, a sword suddenly materialized within his grasp.

The atmosphere of the entire ntal space instantly changed.

"Ryan, you may experience so headache soon, so prepare yourself." the old man said calmly.

The suspicious spirit imdiately beca alert.

"Old man, do you want to die?" he snapped.

"Do you even understand what Heroic Spirits are? Only individuals who left behind legends and marks upon history can beco one! Do yo–"

[Emotion Sword] — Wonder.

The sword spirit moved his blade only once.

It was an incredibly simple motion.

Yet at that exact mont, the world around the Heroic Spirit lost all color.

Everything beca silent.

Empty.

aningless.

Then, an overwhelming splitting pain struck his mind.

"AAAAAAHHHHH!"

The Heroic Spirit scread in agony while clutching his head.

The pain felt worse than death itself.

Ryan, who rely witnessed the attack indirectly, also felt a sharp sting within his mind.

"So you truly were influenced by Destiny to so extent," the sword spirit concluded calmly.

Ryan stared at the scene in complete shock.

The old man before him had casually crippled a spirit with a single sword movent.

anwhile, the Heroic Spirit remained kneeling on the ground while breathing heavily.

"There are many things I wish to ask you," the sword spirit continued indifferently as his eyes sharpened dangerously.

"So hurry and form a contract with the boy, oh, and it will be a slave contract."

The Heroic Spirit froze.

"Otherwise, I kill you."

The old man pointed his sword directly toward him.

"What do you choose?"

"WAIT!" the Heroic Spirit shouted imdiately while raising both hands in surrender.

"LET’S REVISE THE CONTRACT TERMS FIRST!"
