As the horde of monsters all charged forward to try and kill the weakened cave troll and cave alligator, the two targets in question imdiately stopped their fight as they turned their attention towards the attacking monsters charging towards them filled with both killing and greed.

Letting out a terrifying roar, the cave troll made the first move, as it grabbed a large club shaped boulder on the ground before violently smashing any of the monsters bold enough to try and lead the charge in attacking him.
Ptsh-!
Instantly, the sound of monster being crushed on impact echoed through the entire cave as their bloody remains gave the club shaped rock a dark red color on the side that had been used to smash said monsters.
Even if the cave troll looked weaker with all of the injuries on its body, the fact that it now had a weapon seed to increase its strength-

Understanding this as well, the remaining monsters in the process of charging towards the cave troll instantly froze on the spot before turning around to target the cave alligator instead. Although it would be harder for them to land the killing blow with so many monsters around. At the very least, they would be able to escape alive if they ended up suffering a direct hit from the weakened cave alligator.
The cave troll on the other hand... Well, they had already personally witnessed the outco of the group of monsters who had tried their luck at killing the weakened cave troll.
Although the cave troll’s strength was also weakened like the cave alligator, the club shaped rock made up for the lack in strength and helped the cave troll at least show off so of his strength in his current weakened state.

At the sa ti that the large horde of monsters charging towards the cave troll changed their mind and instead began targeting the weakened cave alligator, Scaly similarly froze on the spot as she looked towards the now deadly weapon in the hands of the cave troll.
This... How am I supposed to kill the cave troll if it has a weapon!? Should I perhaps try to kill the cave alligator instead? But... With so many other monsters around, it will be hard for to approach, let alone attempt to kill it...
Not knowing how to handle this unexpected situation, Scaly could not help turning her attention towards the cave alligator who was currently struggling to keep itself alive under the constant attack of all kinds of monster fully intent on killing it and gaining the chance to evolve and beco stronger.
Even from a single glance, it was obvious that going attempting to kill the cave alligator was not an option. Leaving her with little to no choice on which one of the two monsters to choose...
Hmph! Even if it has a weapon, so what!? I will show it the power of my claw strike and easily tear it apart before it even has a chance to react!
Smiling triumphantly as she reminded herself of this, Scaly narrowed both of her eyes as she continued to approach the cave troll. However, different from before, she was now making sure to stay extra hidden so as to not get noticed.
On the positive side, the poisonous mist had already reduced to a level where it no longer had any real effect on her or the other monsters who entered at the sa ti as her. Only those who had been exposed to the poisonous mist when it had been stronger, like the cave troll and cave alligator, were still affected by the part of it that had managed to infiltrate their bodies.

Hm? The cave troll is moving towards the cave alligator... Does it perhaps want to stop the other monsters from killing it?
Well... Considering that it was originally the one to weaken the cave alligator and put it in its current weakened state, I guess it makes sense that it wants to claim the life of the cave alligator itself. If I had soone try to steal my prey, I would do the sa- No, I would also make sure to kill all of the monsters daring enough to try and steal my prey! All of them would then beco my prey!
Feeling her thoughts starting to wander as she watched the cave troll starting to make its way towards the cave alligator currently under siege from all sides, Scaly could not help slowing down her speed a bit more. Subconsciously hoping that the cave troll’s actions would enter the fight and grow even weaker as a result.
No matter how confident she felt in her brand-new skill that originated from her noble dragon bloodline, she would not mind if the cave troll was weaker and easier to kill. Although this was sothing she would never admit...

Also noticing the new developnt, so of the monsters waiting around for one of the two to weaken enough for a fatal blow to be possible began to move around more frantically than before. All of them having realized that if the cave troll joined the battle and ended up killing the cave alligator, their chances of growing stronger would be reduced to nothing!

For this reason, so of the monsters in hiding erged from their hiding spots as they began to use all sorts of strange abilities to try and slow down the cave troll.
Roar!?
Not having expected this sudden ambush, the cave troll was caught off guard and raised both of its hands up to protect itself against the barrage of strange attacks-

BANG!
However, as it protected itself from the strange attacks, it unintentionally let go of the club shaped rock, causing it to fall to the ground and break into four different sized pieces.

Hearing what happened as clear as day, the monsters eagerly trying to kill the cave alligator froze on the spot for a short mont before close to half of the group of monsters broke off from the group and rushed back towards the no unard cave troll.
Now that the dreaded club shaped rock was gone, they no longer felt any fear when faced with cave troll. Instead, only seeing it as them having a higher chance at landing the killing blow compared to if they all focused on trying to kill the cave alligator...
