Leaving behind her forr ho, Scaly soon ca upon a shocking discovery as she couldn’t find a single living oversized rat anywhere inside of the forest. Instead, she discovered what could only be described as a swarm of humans.
The reason why Scaly called them a swarm was because the mont a living oversized rat appeared. The humans would soon appear in large groups before killing the poor oversized rat. Leaving behind nothing, they soon took off with its corpse.
Scaly once again felt the terror of the race known as humans. The two she had seen earlier struggling with oversized rats were most likely just a rare occurrence.
The humans swarming the forest also looked much bigger than the two humans from earlier. aning that they were most likely older adult humans.
Skittering anxiously across the soft mossy ground covering most of the forest while avoiding any humans she ca across, Scaly soon ca to a stop beneath a large tree.
What do I do now? How am I even supposed to find a lone oversized rat to kill without the humans discovering !?
Inspecting her surroundings from the top of a large root poking up from the ground, Scaly could not help but feel a sense of agitation when she thought about how the humans, who had suddenly appeared, took away her chance to reach level 5 and go through her first evolution.
Maybe I should go further into the dungeon... There should not be as many humans there...
Rembering the pathway down towards the next floor of the dungeon that the giant lizard had been spending most of its ti around before perishing to the fearso group of humans.
Determination lit up inside her small lizard eyes as Scaly decided what to do next!
Even if it was dangerous entering the lower levels before she had evolved, Scaly knew that she would not be able to progress by staying on the current floor of the dungeon.
If she stayed, she might even end up getting found by the humans and end up being completely dismantled for any useful parts like they had done with the oversized rats before leaving with happy smiles all over their faces!
Shake~
Scaly’s small body could not help but shake in fear when she rembered the fearful sight of the humans happily tearing apart the oversized rat’s body before running away happily with all sorts of body parts in their hands.
Happily bragging to the other humans with the body parts in hand, while the other humans who had not found an oversized rat yet looked over full of jealousy...
Humans truly are weird and fearful creatures... I was a human in the past, was I just like them...?
Thinking about this for a short mont, Scaly quickly threw the thought away. At least she knew that she was not like them when she was human. From what little she could rember; she should have been a peaceful human. Not a brutal ruthless monster like the ones currently running around killing oversized rats...
Rustle~
Hearing the sound of movent from a bush a short distance away from her, Scaly reacted in an instant. Skittering across the mossy surface of the forest at her fastest speed possible towards the path leading down into the second floor of the dungeon!
She could not keep hesitating any longer, if she did so, humans might soon end up finding her!

So, this is the path leading down into the second floor of the dungeon?
Arriving at her destination without any problems, Scaly could not help but stop as she inspected the path leading down to the next floor of the dungeon. A giant spiral staircase more than big enough to fit at least a few giant lizards beside each other walking side by side.
Back when she had seen the group of humans fight the giant lizard, it was in front of this spiral staircase, but she had not been able to it clearly and was also more focused on the fight between the humans and the giant lizard. Not really paying much attention to the spiral staircase leading down into the second floor of the dungeon.
However, things were different now!
Whoosh~
A cold wind swept through the area, causing Scaly to shiver when she was hit by the cold air.
Thumb Thumb Thumb~
Just as the cold wind passed and Scaly was about to rush down to the second floor of the dungeon, the sound of footsteps could be heard coming from the path leading down to the second floor.
"Haha, we are finally returning to the city again."
"Yeah, with all the materials that we gathered this ti around I’m sure we can take the next week off! Haha, I think I will be spending the entire week at old ben’s tavern!"
Following the footsteps, the happy laughs and voices could be heard before a small group of humans appeared from the giant spiral staircase leading down into the second floor of the dungeon.
"Yeah, I think we should also go visit the..."
Hah... That was close...
Letting out a sigh of relief at the fact that there had been a small bush just beside the spiral staircase for her to hide in, Scaly looked over in the direction of the humans. Not daring to move out from her cover beneath the large green leaves of the bush before they were completely out of her vision.

I have to go down before another group of humans show up!
Coming out from her hiding spot, Scaly no longer spent any ti hesitating in front of the spiral staircase.
Moving fast as she began moving down the spiral staircase. Not knowing what awaited her in the depths below. Only the desire to one day evolve and beco a dragon present in her mind.
Completely ignoring the small part of her that didn’t want to go and was scared thinking about what kind of terrifying monsters might be present on the second floor of the dungeon...
