Shara could not bring herself to join the battle. Not only was she completely outmatched for such a serious battle, she found that she was needed sowhere else.
From ti to ti, the woman who now stood atop a carriage would shoot her arrow down at them and at that point, she had to protect the healer she was with.
The healer was the most important person here as she could heal whoever was wounded so they could get back to the fight quickly.
Still, she saw what was happening in the fight. She could hear the people's confused words.
"Soone in the group of soldiers has so sort of power that is keeping everyone alive," Shara said slowly. "They need to kill that person first."
The woman looked at her for a second and back at the soldiers. "If there was soone who could keep dead n alive and fighting, why would they join the battle? Wouldn't it make sense to stay away and fight from the distance?"
Shara took in her words and nodded slightly. That made much more sense. "Then are you saying those carriages hold soone inside who is hiding from the battle?" she asked. That was very possible.
"What?" the woman looked confused. "No, it's that woman herself who is a Spirit Awakener."
Shara was confused for a mont. "But her power has nothing to do with the soldiers," she said. "It's the arrow she throws each ti, isn't it?"
The woman frowned for a mont before realizing. "Oh… you don't know about Spirit Artifacts, do you?" she asked.
"Spirit… Artifacts?" Shara asked.
"Of course," the woman said. "How would you know? Even among the nobility, it is a well-kept secret."
"What is a Spirit Artifact?" Shara asked, having never heard of one before.
"There are so individuals that can bind the powers of soone's spirit itself into an object, modifying it. It gives the object a power that any Spirit Awakener can use," the woman said. She grew a little sad saying that. "My brother was one…"
"Woah!" Shara said, very much surprised. "I didn't know such a thing was possible." If that was the truth, she found it completely plausible that maybe the female commander was the one with the power that was keeping everyone alive.
"It is not a thing that many know about, so don't think too much about it," the woman continued. "It is unlikely you will ever co across such individuals either."
Shara nodded. "Do these people have a title?" she asked.
"They do," the woman said softly. "They are called Reapers."
Shara paused for a long ti. "What?"
"What?" the woman looked at her, confused by her confused stare.
"Reapers?" Shara asked.
"Yes," the woman said. "Have you heard of them? That's surprising."
An explosion rang close to them, but Shara had been activating her power the entire ti, so nothing touched the two of them, not even the heat.
"Are you sure Reapers can do this thing?" Shara asked.
"I am sure. I've seen it done," the woman said. "Why are you asking that?"
Shara looked at the battlefield and then the woman. "How does a Reaper do it?" she asked.
"Why does that matter right now?" the woman asked.
"How does one do it? Explain, please."
The woman looked at Shara as her eyes widened with slow realization. "You…"
"Please, tell ."
The woman gulped. "It's… it's simple from what I know. You just need so sort of item and then soone to drain the spirit from. As long as the person is a Spirit awakener, it should be possible."
Shara nodded. "Run," she said.
"What?"
"Run. As far as you can. From those arrows."
The woman frowned. "What are you going to do?" she asked.
"Try and see if I can do it too. If I can make a Spirit Artifact."

Ning rushed past the soldier, arriving in between 3. His spear found the visor of one of the soldiers, while his iron back took the hit from the other two swords.
He pulled the spear out and pushed aside the two soldiers, before quickly moving it around to gather so montum. Once he gathered enough montum, he stabbed it through the tal plate another soldier wore, skewering not just him but also another soldier behind him.
He could feel his pain disappearing as he hurt both of those soldiers at once.
He tried to pull the spear back but found it stuck. So, he instead punched the base of it with an iron fist and made it co out of the otherwise of the second soldier.
He quickly rushed to the other side, dodging another attack, and grabbed onto the base of the blade of the spear, pulling it out from there.
Without the prongs of the spear in the way, it was much easier.
The two soldiers were still not dead. At this point, Ning wasn't sure how many soldiers he had killed. He wasn't even sure if he was fighting soone he had killed already.
He just kept on fighting tirelessly, while the others took care of a few along the way.
Even though he didn't recognize the others, however, he made a note to recognize the one that shocked him. When that soldier ca around, he ran away instantly to fight soone else.
Ning was once again running away when he saw a flicker of light from the side. The light ca straight for him and Ning understood that it was a Spirit.
He focused on it for a mont and the Spirit beca visible.
"The hell?"
The illusory white spirit was of a young adult male, with half his face burned completely, eyes empty in its socket. His face was not very recognizable, but Ning still recognized him.
It was the Earl he had killed, or rather Shara had killed, with the fireball. It was the sa one that had taken away his arm.
And it seed he had beco a vengeful spirit.
"Wait, no!" Ning shouted, but it did nothing. The Spirit of the Earl still went into him, trying to take over him.
