"Wait, you guys aren't serious, are you?" Mari asked. "You can't just beco an Emperor because you want to. Especially of a nation so torn in war for the past 30 years. When the republic happens to lose—"
"Which we don't know it will. We could always win," Matthew said from the side.
"Okay, on the off chance that the republic happens to lose, it will imdiately be filled with armies of the other two or three factions. You will have to go against those armies for this. Or what, do you think you can just sit on the throne and those armies will magically start following you? Think, kids. This is stupid."
"It is," Ning said. "But if she wants it, it might be sothing fun."
"It's not fun!!" Matthew shouted. "At best it's idiotic, and at worst it's downright suicidal. You're just trying to get her killed."
"No, she won't die," Ning said. "I have my own ways of saving her in dangerous situations."
"From an army?" Mari asked.
"Yes," Ning said. "I'm saying we can run away if need be. Besides, I'm only saying we try to place her on the throne and see what happens. It's not like we are being forced to do so, right?"

Shara wishes to ascend the Onyx throne. Find a way to make that possible.

"FUCK!" Ning cried out at once.
"Wh-wh-what?" Mari asked quickly, afraid.
Matthew perked up, his four arms ready to move should it need to.
Shara was already intangible at the mont, getting ready to turn soone else intangible if need be.
Ning quickly shook his head. "No, everything is alright," he said. "I an, everything is not alright, but… damn it!"
"What's wrong?" Shara asked.
"I have to make you an Empress now, whether it's possible or not," Ning said.
"Have to?" Shara asked, confused.
Ning nodded. Shara thought for a mont. "Is it…"
Ning nodded again.
"Oh!"
"What's going on?" Matthew asked.
"The situation has changed," Ning said. "I am now forced to make her an empress. Don't ask why."
"This seems like the perfect ti to ask why," Matthew said.
"I know," Ning said. "But don't ask. I can't explain. I'm just forced to do so now."
"Okay…" Matthew said.
"But you can't," Mari said. "It's impossible."
"It's not impossible. I thought we established this," Ning said. "Anyway, forget about it. It's my problem. You guys don't have to deal with it."
"We weren't going to," Mari said.
"Okay… so what now?" Matthew asked.
"Well, what did we co here to discuss initially?" Ning asked.
"About what we were going to do tomorrow," Mari said. "Where do we go? I think we should head over to the duchy."
"No," Ning said imdiately. "Too far away. And we don't have enough food to reach the duchy."
"Then what do we do?" Mari asked.
"We go back to Toma," Ning said.
"Back to where I just ran away from? There would be people waiting for to be brought back. Or they will be checking every carriage to see if I've sneaked in. I can't go back," Mari said.
"She's right in a way," Matthew said. "We can't go back. The soldiers would be looking for us."
"Do the soldiers know what you look like?" Ning asked Matthew.
"Uhh… no, not really. If it were the armies, they would know, but not these ones. They haven't seen our face."
"So, if a group of soldiers leaves to capture her, and then a group returns with her captured, are they going to ask questions?" Ning asked.
"You want them to act like they're soldiers of the empire?" Mari asked.
"They are soldiers of the old empire," Ning said. "They just need to fix their accent a little and it can't work surely. We have all the armor and necessary paperwork collected from the dead n today. It should be easy to claim we are who we say we are."
"No," Matthew said. "Those soldiers would be recognized surely. At least the guards waiting for them would recognize we're not them."
"Then?" Ning asked.
"We go in as the other group. I will be the Battalion commander of the Empire, and you will all be my soldiers," Matthew said.
"And what about her? She is quite popular, so she will be recognized in the town," Ning said.
"She can stay in the carriage. They won't check who is inside the carriage. Especially once they see who we are."
Ning thought for a mont. "I see. That sounds like a better plan certainly. So do we leave tomorrow?" he asked.
"We do so cleanup tomorrow morning and then leave in the afternoon. We don't want people who co to imdiately realize that there was a battle here. We need to get rid of as much evidence as we can."
Ning nodded. "That makes sense," he said. "So we are decided then. We will leave tomorrow."
"It is decided," Matthew said.
Ning turned to Mari. "We can take you back to Lenes, but what after that?" he asked. "Do you have sowhere to be? We could use your help."
"And beco a traitor to the empire?" Mari asked.
"It was the empire that betrayed you first, wasn't it?" Ning asked. "They killed your family, took away everything you ever had. Do you still have any love for them?"
Mari thought for a mont and shook her head. "No," she said. "You are right. I have nothing left for in this empire. I… I can go anywhere I want to without a guilty conscience."
"So…" Ning waited.
"Yes, I'll go with you."
"Nice!" Ning said. "We'll have 4 Spirit Awakeners in one group that way. It will be very helpful."
"5," Matthew said.
"Huh?" Ning asked. He quickly counted. "There's only 4 here."
"Romus, one of my n who was near death until earlier today, is a Necromancer. You might find that we will have a whole army ready before we leave for the city tomorrow."
