Scratching my chin, I watched as Ehretia and Ipoala diverged from the sparring to instead focus on dancing, the two little girls spinning around and just moving for the sake of moving, their daggers forgotten and their enjoynt clearly spiking now that they were doing their own thing.
I didn't really mind it that much, but I was also standing here wondering if I would be 'happier' to see my children being more enamored by the love of combat... only to shake my head and smile wryly as I realized it wasn't the case.
While I would love to be able to share this interest with all of my children and have more in common with them, I also knew that I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of them being in danger; I did want them to know how to fight though, but for right now they could just play.

Never before had I imagined a life like this for myself; even when I had been just a soldier who had hopes of finding myself a few won to make into wives I never imagined I would be so content to let them be whatever they wanted to be.
It was just engrained into to raise warriors, to raise my children the way my Dama had raised ; she hadn't forced into it but it had been expected, though I imagine growing up in a ti of war caused that expectation, just like the peaceful world we were in now made it easy to be more lax.
