I blinked for the first ti in what felt like forever as the report popped up in the corner of my vision, 'Well, I guess that answers the question of whether or not I need to sleep. I've been up all night and barely feel a thing.'

Which was good because I had set myself up for the busiest service yet, thanks to the restaurant's newest additions.

[Appliance: Kegorator]

Cost: $6,500

Maintenance: $1,200

Slot [Kitchen]: 2/5

Effect(s):

30% quality to all poured drinks

While it was a pricy investnt, the appliance coupon I had gotten as a quest reward ate up most of the cost. But if I had been able, I would have paid for the machine out of pocket, considering the new staple it added to my nu.

[Drink: Flute of Hard Sparkling Cider]

Base Price: $10

Quality: ✦✦✦✦✦✧

Final Price: $16

Ingredients: Ode Farm Hard Cider

At 16$ a glass, the barrel Ashe had lent would pull in $16,000 alone. But I had found another purpose for the spirit.

[Desert: Boozy Apple Monkey Bread]

Base Price: $54

Quality: ✦✦✦✦

Final Price:$76

Ingredients: Ode Farm Hard Cider [x1], Apples[x6], Pastry Dough [x1] Lemon [x1], Butter [x2], Cup of Sugar [x2]

While the price of the cider and, to a lesser extent, the Monkey Bread didn't rival so of my more expensive dishes, the important part was that they didn't count as dishes or sides. I had to ask the system for confirmation, but being classified as Desert and Drink, the Cider and Monkey bread wouldn't replace any dish or side, and instead would be placed in their own separate categories.

aning a custor could now order a main dish, a side, a dessert, and a drink.

My potential profit had just skyrocketed overnight, and while that was it for the mon,t I had already planned out my next steps to make even more out of every dish.

"Don't tell the reason I slept alone in an empty bed without my favorite pillow is because you've been down here all night."

I spun around and found gan dressed in a black blouse and jeans standing at the back entrance to the kitchen, "Uh... no."

gan glared at , "You know, for a demon, you're a terrible liar."

I held up my hands in surrender, "Look, you know , I'm a man of passion. When I get started on sothing I'm interested in, there's no stopping . Speaking off..."

I trailed off as gan moved within reach, and my arms shot out to grab her waist.

She only had a mont to let out a startled yelp before I pressed my lips against hers and slipped my tongue between them.

After a minute, gan pushed away with an annoyed growl, "Damnit, stop trying to get horny and forget about why I'm mad at you!"

"Alright, I am sorry about that, but I think you'll forgive once I show you what I've been working on," I replied enthusiastically as I took gan's hand and pulled her towards the Kegorator that I had set up next to the kitchen door for a quick turn around during service.

Hanging above the pressurized refrigerator were several dozen flute glasses, the sa ones used to sample whiskey.

Grabbing a glass, I put it under the spout as I pulled on the tap and watched as bubbling liquid gold ca pouring out.

Once the glass was nearly full, I stopped the pour and gingerly handed the cider to gan, "Here, try so of this."

I watched as gan lifted the glass to her lips and took a tentative sip. Her eyes then went wide as she stared at the cider in wonder, "Holy shit, that's the best thing I've ever tasted. Where the hell did you get this?"

"Well, rember how I went to visit Ode Farm yesterday." I prompted with a broad grin, "Well, after so convincing, I managed to work out a deal with the current owner. Turns out I'm getting into the farming business after all."

"What, how?" gan asked, rightfully confused, so I quickly explained my interaction with Ashe while she polished off the cider.

However, by the end of my story, gan was frowning, "What's wrong? Was it the shotgun part?"

"While that is concerning, I'm more worried about the fact that you're putting another responsibility on your plate. Even if you don't have to sleep, splitting your attention between all these projects can make you overlook sothing important."

"Are you including yourself in those projects?" I asked jokingly, making gan smirk, "Damn right I am, I'm more high maintenance than this whole restaurant."

"Well then, I got about two or three hours before I need to start prepping for the dinner service," I started as my hand slid back around gan's waist, "How about we go upstairs and I make up for my slip-up yesterday?"

A broad grin spread across gan's lips, "Now that's an idea I can get behind."

---

"First booth order of the night!" gan announced as she sauntered into the kitchen, waiving an order ticket, "And it's a hefty one."

"Give it to !" I replied just as enthusiastically as I moved over to the fridge, ready to grab whatever ingredients I might need.

"One Charred Leek and Buttered Lobster, Two Steak Frites, one grilled salmon, one side each of asparagus, potatoes, and salad, three ciders, and one Boozy Apple Monkey Bread." gan riddled off in quick succession, nearly overwhelming with the sheer number of items on a single ticket.

'Alright, next thing on the docket, getting a damn kitchen hand, pretty sure the only reason why I'm still holding on is because of so damn paradise behind the scenes fiddling magic.'

Still, even as I complained, I moved like a machine stoking the fire to its hottest temperature so the grill would be ready to sear and char.

Once the fire was going I moved over to the Kegorator and quickly poured out three glasses that I set aside for gan to serve when she got the chance.

Next ca the Monkey Bread, which I could luckily set and forget once I had all the componets in a baking tray to throw in the oven.

First I had to chop up the pastry dough into bite size nuggets with an freshly sharppened knife to stop it from sticking. Once the dough was uniformly divided I scooped up the peices and threw them into a bowl.

I then used the sa knife to roughly dice six apples leaving with a pile of small to dium size chunks. Moving over to the stove I pulled out a suace pan and that I filled to the brim with the apple chunks.

After putting a bit of water in the bottom of the pan I simred the apples over a high heat. Once the apples started to sweat I then poured in a flute of cider that I ignited to cook off the alchol. When the fire died down I was left with stewed apples swimming in a heavy concentrate, which would act as my base as I lowered the heat and poured in a cup of sugar.

Stiring frequently to prevent the sugar from burning I watched carefully as the white grains darkened and caramalized, capturing all the apple notes of the fruit and the cider.

When the apple chunks were covered in a light golden amber sauce I killed the heat and then gradually incorporated two sticks of butter as tiny chunks finishing off the sauce and added an extra richness that would help smooth out the final product.

Taking my filling and my pastry dough I started the process of filling up a bundt cake mold, going in first with a layer dough chunks that I basted with the applel infused caral.

I repeated the process again and again, making sure there was an even dispersion of apple chunks through out the desert. When the bundt cake pan was filled I threw it in the oven to bake.

'Alright, now for the hard part.' I mused as I started in on the rest of the order even as gan ca back into the kitchen with three more tickets, 'Tonight's gonna be a long one.'

---

I collasped onto a stool in the kitchen as I finished wiping down the grill signalling the end of the dinner rush, 'I'm barely holding on by a damn thread. I may not need to sleep, but damn does it feel good to not do anything for seven hours.'

Just as I was about to stand up the kitchen door swung open and I looked over as Patty walked in. She was noteably wearing an outfit I had bought her at the mall, consisting of a cotton dress that hugged her figure and a shawl over her shoulders and down her arms.

Seeing my wandering gaze Patty blushed, "I just ca to check in on you and see how you were doing. I feel like everyday this place get's busier and busier."

I let out a grunt of agreent, "You're not far from the truth, I running around like a rat in here."

Patty bit her lip as a glimr appeared in her eyes, "Well, to it sounds like you deserve a reward for all your hard work."

I was a bit suprised at first by Patty's bold proposition, but I grinned nontheless, 'I guess sleeping can wait somore."
