Invitation to Temple Saber. anwhile, the Dean Moves.
Once we had been done with our objective, we went through teleportation magic and returned back to «Interdiate-mid Entrance».
"Hoo, boy. We sure got a treasure! You all did great, everyone!"
"Sa. Thanks for your hard work."
"Great work, everyone."
"Mmm, that was great."
".........Thank you for your hard work."
Outside, we all, minus Tabase-senpai, greeted everyone in the order of I, Sierra, Aegis, and Reglam. Tabase-sensei joined afterward, though I picked a slight mixture of perplexedness in her voice.
"Is sothing wrong, Senpai?"
Aegis addressed her, noticing the sa.
"No, it's just... I am quite overwheld. So this is the face of the guild that's striving for S-rank in all sense... it suddenly ca to . So I was surprised."
"Haha, we did hit the jackpot at the end, after all."
It appeared Tabase-senpai had so internal dilemma going on.
"This guild runs outside of the continuum of normal sense. So it would be for your sanity to stop comparing it with any other guild, Senpai."
"Hmm, but once you beco the denizen of that world, you also gain a whole new perspective."
"Heh, it's quite rare that you crack a joke, Reglam."
The forr remark ca from Sierra. She had said it while, for so reason, her gaze resting on .
Well, it's a daily routine for Sierra to suspect my common sense. That said, it was definitely super unusual for Reglam to joke like that. So, I playfully jabbed at him, but instead, he returned with an incredibly long 'no way you're seriously saying that?" face.
Just what might he an?
"You all get along so well."
"That, we do."
"......Then, Zephyr-san, I would like to ask once again, can you take in your guild?"
Hmm. Overall, there's nothing to criticize about. I also had a chance to check her status, and it was at least finely handled. Though, probably because she had focused on «White Throne», her status was more oriented toward healing.
Of course, that wasn't a problem. It just ant she was much qualified to be a healer. It's all about how we employ her. Moreover, she was already hitting well with party mbers.
Alright, I think I know what I must do. I prepared myself to answer—but that was interrupted by soone's loud voice that shook the whole «Interdiate-mid Entrance».
"TABASE!! I-i-i-i-i-i-i-is it true that you're moving to E-E-E-E-Eden!?"
The extrely flustered voice had originated from... a boy. He donned advanced equipnt over himself, with the symbol of «Knight» attached to his chest. He approached Tabase-senpai with a staggering gaze, almost as if he was treading through the cold road with swollen legs.
"Kasanda. Why are you here?"
"I heard the rumours that y-y-y-y-you're thinking of moving to «Eden»! So, I ca to check around. A-Are you seriously joining «Eden»?"
Heh, so it's not a random encounter. The rumours, uh?
That said, Tabase-senpai was right in the middle of her interview, which was positively considered. Oh, and she passed just five seconds ago.
"It's true. I want to join «Eden»."
"N-Nooo way!?"
The knight boy groaned in despair. His eyes widened like a saucer, as if he was witnessing sothing unbelievable—or simply, he didn't want to believe it.
"—A-Are you eyeing «White Throne»? T-then rest assured. We have just delivered a letter of challenge to «Eden» for Duel. It wouldn't hurt you to wait until then, right?"
The boy, though still at his wit's end, tried to explain the situation to Senpai.
So, the letter was from them. I knew it, and of course, it'd be about «White Throne».
anwhile, Sierra quietly closed up to , her fingers repeatedly tapping her arms as she held them cross-shaped. Oh, and she also had that stern glare. Wow, that is such a killer combo. I wish she would do it more often.
"You can't. After seeing Eden's performance in the dungeon, «Temple Saber» has no chance of winning against them. It's just a rank difference now, but even in that, «Temple Saber» would be soon left in dust."
"W-What're you saying?!"
Amazing. She really didn't mince around her words. But must I say, I really enjoyed the boy's reaction. Co on, Senpai. Encore!
"Can «Temple Saber» clear a dungeon in one day? Can they challenge a Interdiate-mid dungeon they have never stepped foot before, and clear it in just one day—no, in just ti after classes and before curfew, and defeat a rare boss on their first try, while making sure no one's been sacrificed? Can they do that?"
"W-What are you saying, Tabase? It's not ti for nonsense..."
Strange. Did he just call our ordinary dungeon run nonsense?
"If you can't achieve that, then you have no chance against «Eden». «Eden» has everything—the «Dungeon Carriage», «White Throne», and even «Dragon's Miniature Garden». They even have more advanced job mbers than «Temple Saber."
"T-that's..."
The trembling of the knight boy was its peak, his breath labourous. Was he alright? I hope he didn't black out.
Then, he looked at us with a bewildered gaze. When our gaze t, he barely stopped himself from stumbling, and ran his hand through his face as if wiping sweat before returning his gaze back to Tabase-senpai.
"B-But once we take back «White Throne», you will have no other reason to leave «Temple Saber», right?"
"............"
This ti, Senpai couldn't muster a denial. After all, above everything, it was «White Throne» that drew her toward «Eden».
"We're soon going to have a duel with «Eden.» Please, hold your transfer until then, Tabase."
Perhaps that was all he had to say, the knight boy turned to .
...Well?
"You're... Zephyr, guildmaster of «Eden». Am I correct?"
"Hmm? Indeed, I am Zephyr."
"I-I am Kasanda from «Temple Saber». What's your response to the letter of challenge? I would like to hear."
Letter of Challenge, what? Sorry, never heard of that thing~... that's what I wanted to say, but it didn't seem like a ti to crack a joke.
From the details I could make out, they were definitely waging a Duel for «White Throne». I haven't read the letter yet, but I guess I can accept it for the ti being. Besides, it appears we can't have Tabase-senpai until we settle the situation with «White Throne». So, it ans this was a challenge we must win at all costs.
"Let's move to sowhere else."
I called a halt for the current situation, and suggested a change of location. With all the shouting, we were already drawing attention.
"If so, then I would like you to co to our guild house."
And the location was suggested to be «Temple Saber».
◇◇◇
anwhile, at the sa ti, in another place—the guild house of «Temple Saber», to be precise.
It had just received a certain distinguished guest.
"T-This way, Dean!"
"Hm, it was laborious of you. Well then, is it you who wrote this Letter of Challenge?"
Before the round table, where every mber of «Temple Saber» had gathered, Dean flailed a familiar looking envelope to them.
