"Hey, sorry for the tardiness."
The afternoon after the lecture.
I was supposed to et with guild mbers at an appointed place. I had chosen a tifra with ample leeway, but I still ran 30 minutes late. The QA session was quite intense with new students.
I was glad that people were absorbing «Training Manual»'s basic promptly, but with the «Job Transfer» day coming closer, they all seem in a kind of hurry. There were quite a questions like 'what would be the efficient way to raise this job' and so on. So I had to be thorough.
I could relate with them, to say the least. Next week, lecturers were off as it was Dungeon Week. So today's the first, and last lecture before the «Job Transfer» ceremony. Hence, I made sure to clear their doubts to my best of ability.
My objective was to spread a general guide, now, it was the user's choice on how they envisioned their jobs. It was an irreversible path, and it would be just sad to leave behind any more regret, like 'I should’ve taken that option' or 'that style would've suited more.'
Just to be clear here, I certainly wasn't late because I was surrounded by girls and their questions, alright?
"It appears Zephyr-sensei's popularity has yet to wane."
"...Eek."
Rina remarked, one hand of her supporting her cheek. Though she had a smile tugging on her lips, there was this incomprehensible darkness lurking beneath that it scared . I hope it's just imagination... Let it be that, please.
"I can't believe you think it's a good idea to keep us waiting, Zephyr. I am going to have a proper payback afterward!"
"Indeed, Zephyr-dono. I also would like you to listen to Lana-sama's whim for once. —But Lana-sama, make sure to not go overboard, alright?"
"I-I know that, sheesh. Ester, let's co up with a plan."
Huh... Why does it feels I made a promise without any knowledge?! Well, it certainly wouldn't be bad to indulge her a bit.
"It is fine by if you want to run late, okay? I had a fun ti appraising the items. If anything, would you not prefer a rest to soothe your tiredness?"
"We're running out of ti, so rejected."
"Aww, co on~."
Nico was acting as usual.
Speaking of, she thinks no one has realised she quietly researched items inside the «Thunder Javelin», but I know about that. Though, for now, there's a ti... only a tiny bit.
When Nico's with us, I would always select shortcuts if possible. Her ability was at its best when we're against bosses. This was also the reason why she only had fleeting monts for items research.
Anyway, I tried cheering up Rina, as the carriage gallopsed the path for «Armored Beast of Iron Plains» dungeon.
First, we took the shortcut to the 20th floor.
"Ah, boss has been revived."
"Not today. Ester, you know what to do."
"Alright. «Overdrive»!"
The boss of the 20th floor was «Wild Armored Boar - Donfang». However, we're on a clock and skipped it this round.
The boss apparently noticed us, but it was too late. Then again, we had taken a shortcut, and the entrance to the next floor was right at the corner. Even if we were on foot, we would have still outspeed it.
Farewell, «Donfang». Maybe fate will have us et another day~.
And soon, we erged onto the 21st floor. In the dictionary of «Dungeon Activity» players, the 21st floor was where real challenges start in the Int-high dungeon.
«Armored Beast of the Iron Plains». The dungeon was precisely what its na says. The encounters for the most part were beast-type monsters donned in armor. They're tough—in defense, they're the hardest nuts. It was a dungeon where one kept using skills to get through their armors, and as such, it demanded sacrifice of mana.
The place appeared like a giant cavern—I think, tunnel would suit it better. The passages were wide enough for the two carriages to pass by in parallel. There were also so points that showed they'd been mined, and it was possible to acquire fine ores from such spots.
The equipnt made from the materials of this dungeon's monsters, or ore from the lower strata would always co out as interdiate-tier, and their performances were top in chart in the sa tier. "If you're checking that dungeon out, then pick so nice materials' was what Alulu had asked .
I was going to say 'if we have so leeway left after boss fighting, I will try it.' but the situation was beyond my grasp today.
The monsters stumbling on the way boasted formidable strength and defense. I was sure we would have trouble economising our MP if we took the classic dungeon exploration route. Of course, «Thunder Javelin» had no weakness.
We decided to ignore, or trample the monsters and kept our sight on the boss floor. We could only use this tactic until interdiate dungeons, so I had wanted to make the best use out of it. It was no fun though. I had decided to take our exploration nice and slow next ti. I also would like to bring so ores for Aruru.
Before long, we arrived at the 50th floor.
We had ignored all the monsters on the way. We also encountered field boss «The Iron Bear Beast - Algagumar» at the 40th floor, though we only did the bare minimum—by ramming on it, and toppling it sideways—to register ourselves on the teleportation circle. We also didn't encounter the wandering boss, so we were at our peak state.
"The clock's ticking a bit past 6 PM, already evening. I guess one boss fight is all for today."
"What? But I wanted to take it nice, and fight it properly."
"Bear it for today. We will have a buffet tomorrow."
"I am looking forward to it then!"
Lana didn't like the idea that we would only be fighting the boss once, but I sohow pepped her with tomorrow's promise. I like that she was to appease.
"Alright, ti for boss briefing."
And so, I began explaining about my boss.
"Before that, I should first explain that our objective is the equipnt that only drops from the gold chest of the rare boss—«Iron Sword of Hedonist Beast»!"
"«Iron Sword of Hedonist Beast»?"
"The na sounds familiar."
"Heh, now that's a hell of a thing to target. Just perfect for my need."

It's a broadsword capable of inflicting weakness debuff just by using normal attacks, which made it an incredibly powerful weapon. And—this was another key point—the debuffs were stackable. So, the more user attacks, the more their opponent would be weakened.
Its incredible effect was truly a hallmark of its difficulty to obtain it—a super rare equipnt hailed from the rare boss of the Interdiate-high dungeon. But, there was more to it—it was a key to unlocking certain advanced jobs.
The na was—«Sloth».
A Great Sin job acquirable by the human category «Beastkin». A high-ranking advanced job. This was the item required to negotiate for «White Throne» from «Beastking Galtiger».
