Saturday. The day after the rare boss hunt, Dungeon Week begins.
Dungeon Week... just the na alone filled with invigorating feelings! The nine days of dungeon. There existed no second thing as pleasant as this.
Ahem, albeit, this was past for «Eden» for now. We had other topics to tackle. For the first step, the mbers of Eden and Arc-Arcadia joined at the guild room for briefing. This would be where our schedule for nine days would be explained.
"Alright, Satoru. If you may begin..."
"Leave it to ! —I am Satoru. As the first topic, we will begin with everyone's schedule. The details will be put here!"
Receiving Celestine's signal, «Helper» Satoru rose from his seat, and began his briefing.
Recently, he had been acting under Celestine as his subordinate, and began taking care of background stuff. Truly, living up to the na of «Hard Worker», wasn't he?
He had brought a portable white board today, seemingly to affirm everyone's schedule on the get-go, and tapped his hand against it to bring everyone's attention. He would be writing down our schedule that we had decided on I presu. Of course, the information would be written up in the chat and ssaged everyone later.
I proceeded with the briefing.
"So, let's begin with the first attraction of this dungeon week. Yes, as you can see, we will be having a guild battle three days later for promotion of C-rank. Though, it wouldn't be a ranking battle, but a Duel where C-rank would be at stake."
Everyone had been notified beforehand, so there were no disgruntled voices. In fact, there were few who flashed an anticipating smile, starting with Lana. Heh, given it's an exciting event happening after so long, they were enjoying the situation. I continued.
"This ans we would be selecting mbers for this guild battle. Our opponent is going to be the forr A-rank guild «Temple Saber». The field would be a «Twelve Star» obstacle arena. The format is «Capture the Castle», that everyone is familiar with, and each side can bring up to 15 mbers. Unlike the D-rank promotion exam, it's a fierce duel in every essence. Expect opponents to co at us with their full power, so I need everyone's best as well."
Murmur broke out between gathered mbers, with seriousness lacing their faces. There was much at stake here, plus it was dubbed as a promotion exam too. It was obvious for the buzz to break out.
On our side, including Eden and Arc-Arcadia, we had 25 mbers. Tabase-senpai had yet to beco our mber so she wouldn't be participating.
Our opponent once reigned at the top of the ranking, and as much as they'd fallen today, they still retain much of their founding mbers—including ten or more advanced job mbers. The Duel had more at stake than it might appear at surface. The significance was large.
anwhile, our rank-up promotions so far have been half tutorial. During E-rank, there were just three instructors. During D-rank, it was seniors who were dubbed as examiner, and faced their guilds. Either of them were clearly cutting corners.
Now this Duel was where our true battle lies.
We would be an elite of the academy once we won this guild battle. I bet most of them were excited hoping to be chosen. That's why the mber list had gotten my extre attention.
From the intel I had gathered from Yumiki-senpai, our opponent had 11 advanced jobs mbers. And with Tabase-senpai's disappearance, that would make them only ten. This ant we needed to be extrely cautious as well.
"They have eleven mbers with advanced jobs. Tabase-senpai wouldn't be appearing, but the other ten mbers should be making their appearance."
Another buzz spread out among the mbers. The topic of C-rank and advanced jobs had that inexplicable attraction that it would garnered such reaction.
«Temple Saber» was mainly established around «Knight» category mber, and was an elite guild. Their mber’s jobs were strong on all necessary fronts. It was apparent the strength Knight bear at a glance from Ester and Shea.
In the «Capture the Castle» format, the agility and precision were often the make-or-break factors in the beginning phase of the match. The Riding skill of Knight provided them that edge. I was expecting so challenges.
"So, among the mbers to be selected, everyone with an advanced job, saving Hannah, would be joining."
There was no objection, obviously. It would be foolish to make noise when our opponent had ten advanced job holders. So they must've anticipated it.
I glanced at Hannah, and she... kind of had a relieved expression? Was she worried I might select her? ......Did she rember she's from the production job departnt!?
"And for the next selection, since they've knights, we would be bringing our knight too. Aegis, I will be counting on you."
"M-?!"
Aegis yelped in startled as she reflexively shot a glance at . I nodded. She had only continued to show growth ever since addition to Eden. She could also ride horses, which was a plus. And I doubt anyone who had been from a subordinate guild wouldn't want to see the loser's face of the parent guild. You know, sothing like 'haha, serve you right!'!
Aegis, too, was a competent person. I was going to show them what kind of gem they'd missed out on.
"I, I understand. I won't give any assurance, but I will do my best!"
"Co now, you're plenty strong, Aegis. I am relying on you for a reason."
"E, err... thanks!"
