«Thousand Spear Charge», a 5th order skill of «Peerless Knight».
It was a mid-range multi-hit skill. And as the na implied, the multi-hit were not in the range of ten, not in hundred, but literally thousand hits.
It had a long activation period, and during then, it was possible to pursue normal attacks. If no precaution were taken, the skill would no doubt decimate the opponent. And if the skill was launched while the opponent was locked in Downed status, then elimination was guaranteed.
On the other hand, as to be expected from such potent skill, it couldn't be unlocked until the advanced job was at least LV30, and had t requirents. Aside from the typical skill gradually unlocked as the level advances, so skills were unlocked after fulfilling certain requirents on the said skill tree.
In this case, to unlock «Thousand Spear Charge», the player must have unlocked 3rd order skill «Spear Barrage LV5», 4th order skill «Annihilation Spear LV4», and «Peerless Knight LV3».
"Takeeeeee this!!"
Renandal-senpai shouted, instigating his fighting spirit as skill activated. Rika faced him with her 4th order defensive skill.
"—«Might of Air - Perishing Blade»!"
It was a counter-offensive skill, repelling any attacker in the air. The range was Rika's defense pocket, aka the space to which her sword could strike. As soon as the attacker jumped in her defense range, the skill would unleash a full power counter. As a result—
"Haaaa!!"
"W-what just?!"
Renandal-senpai wore a dumbfounded expression.
His spear had just entered Rika's range when her sword promptly countered reflexively, deflecting the spear. The spear tried to pierce through her defense again, but the sword repeated the sa action and kept it at bay. In a mont faster than anyone could catch, where even breathing once could be perceived as drawn out, the sa sequence repeated over and again.
Renandal-senpai's spear never managed to strike Rika. From a bystander's perspective, it was just a flurry of blurry exchange. Within a breath, the sword had repelled the spear's tens of attempts to infiltrate, causing spark and tal colliding sound everywhere.
"Woah! That's so freaky moves! I like it!"
My voice unwittingly echoed how cool that exchange was. And then, to no one's surprise, the offensive and counter ended with sword's victory. Spear never managed to breach her defensive range, let alone hurt Rika.
Renandal-senpai should've considered his ultimate trump card, so its failure was clearly reflected in his gobsmacked expression.
This was the power of Rika's new job. It wasn't just offense all over, and even more, it extends beyond single-target defensive skill.
Anyway, it was our opportunity. The action duration of «Thousand Spear Charge» was quite long, and that ant Renandal-senpai was locked into his spot until then. It was our chance to take a chance at their healer!"

I healed Rika during my excitent,healing her of any damage she had taken earlier.
"Now it's ti for a good ol' ambush! Lulu, Pala, Aegis. It's your turn!"
"Ookie!"
"Yes, sir-desu!"

"Noel, Lacritta and Celia. I need you to take care of this!"
"Leave it to us."

From t1 end, one had been unable to move due to locked in action of unique skill. The other two had been blown back by Rika, the other one was locked in confrontation against Rika.
Rika alone had paved a solid ground for the follow-up plan. Now, with barely any defenders left, it was our ti to exploit that opportunity. I promptly gave everyone the signal.
"Wha—!"
A wave of surprise washed over t1's mber as soon as they realised they'd fell to an ambush.
"Ti to sing~! «Princess Idol Live»!"
Noel sprang into her action, invoking her unique skill. As the BGM covered the battlefield, the allies basked in the effect of strong buffs.
"I am starting! Please, «Ice Spirit». «Elentalist»! «Spirit Summon» «Fire Spirit»! «Ancient Spirit Rite»! «Advent of Great Spirit»! «Ignis»! If you may."

There wasn't use of ranged magic in the current situation, so Celia summoned «Ice Spirit» first to buff Rika's VIT, providing her more leverage. Then, she summoned the fire spirit, and Ignis, the Great Spirit of Fire.
Ignis was a close-combatant warrior spirit. Celia commanded her to target the «Crusader».
Lacritta stayed near Celia and Noel to protect them. She was their shield if any mishap happened.
"You're not taking another step now on!"
"Push them back!"
«Fallen Knight» wedged himself between our paths. It was a peculiar situation. Instead of the Giant Castle, we had beco their target.
"«Tempest Sword of Darkness»!"
"«Lightning Banisher»!"
Fallen Knight launched an area wide dark attribute attack. I invoked thunder attribute single-target skill.
It was a draw.
"«Spear Charge»!"
"«Giant Shuriken Art»!"
Aegis and Pala joined the fray once they ascertained the situation. They might have basic jobs only, but play right and it wasn't impossible to triumph over advanced jobs. Besides, they were not impervious to basic job skills.
Unfortunately, before their attacks could've connected, the second mber—who had blown together with Fallen Knight—slid in from the flank, and provided a cover for «Fallen Knight».
A loud tallic sound echoed as a big shuriken struck a great shield, the latter repelling it. Aegis led her offensive after her, but the guy—«Paladin» narrowly defended.
"«Cover Action»!"
He had used the sa sort of skill Sierra had expertise in to cover for his teammate. The shuriken was deflected, but in the process he also lost the protection of skill, and that's when Aegis followed, chipping away so of his HP.
Paladin's eyes widened when he noticed how much HP he had lost.
"If it isn't junior! You really have grown formidable, Aegis!"
"It's all thanks to «Eden». I have managed to reach new heights there! «Gale Thrust»!"
"«Guard Action»! —Argh, the damage is too much!"
Aegis then hurled another strike, this ti her weapon charged with wind.
Paladin tried to defend, but was shocked to witness Aegis's newfound strength he hadn't seen before. It was to be expected, their forr mber had already gone through a job change to «Princess» job holder. She was now at max level.
It would have to be one hell of a situation if she was still the sa person. Well, her weapon «Earth Spiral Lance» also had «Piercing Might LV5», so it was another reason she had managed to surprise Paladin. As a fact, the piercing effect and Princess Knight synergised extrely well too.
"Prepare yourself. Unique skill—«Princess Knight Awakening»!"
With additional pierce effect, the defender could barely survive if the attacker stuck to relentless assault. And unfortunately for Paladin, Princess Knight was just equipped with that sort of unique skill to buff her skill rotation speed.
Paladin's eyes went wide as he realised the situation he was in and promptly invoked his unique skill, too.
"Damn it! Unique Skill—«Bishop»!"
Bishop was a defense skill. Much in the sa vein as «Bulwark Shielder»'s «Rampart», «Bishop» made the user immune to Knock-back, Abnormal Ailnt, Downed status effect for its duration. It also reduced incoming damage by more than 90%, and providing damage absorption to heal effect if it was an elental attack
"«Long Thrust»! Tch, that is annoying."
Aegis only unleashed one of her skills and promptly realised her damage was mostly resisted. She was also a Princess job holder, so she knew what her odds were there.
The Piercing bonus effect at best provided an additional damage by 20%~30%. Against Bishop's defensive capability which could nullify at least 90% of total damage, it was no brainer which one had upper hand. She also knew Paladin also had self-healing skills.
"Then let try it. «Overdrive»!"
"What?! Hey-hey, you're ignoring ?!"
She must have realised it wasn't worth sticking to Paladin, and instead settled her target on «Fallen Knight» next whom I was facing.
In our exchange so far, I could see Fallen Knight must have considerable level as even my attacks weren't making any significant dent. We almost had him earlier but alas, their healer saved him. Though the latter was now on target for Lulu and Pala, this was our chance to nip the trouble out of the bud.
Aegis realised she was better off dealing with soone else to make sure her unique skill didn't go to waste, and settled on Fallen Knight, avoiding Renandal-senpai.
She made the right choice. She might be strong, but Renandal-senpai towered above her in nearly every tric. It would be a fool's errand to target him.
"Junior is coming your way. Be careful!"
Fallen Knight's attention was on , but with Paladin's warning, he noticed Aegis approaching his way.
He imdiately tried to backstep, but I didn't let him do it.
"«Holy Sword»!"
"«Bloody—gahhh!?»
Well, that made short work of it.
«Holy Sword» had a nearly instantaneous activation. He did try to tank it, but his skill fell short in activation ti, and took a direct hit. And due to added effect, it rooted him passively. A target inflicted with Root status couldn't move away from his spot for a short duration.
My skill also dealt good enough damage. Next, it was on Aegis, then again, no one in «Eden» would ever miss the chance to exploit an opportunity served to them on a silver platter!
"«Flash Stab»!"
She opened her offensive with light attribute skill.
The opponent was Fallen Knight, and even his equipnt had the added bonus effect of «Dark Attribute».
Aegis exploited her advantage promptly by beginning with light attribute attack, their weak point.
"Gaah?!"
Fallen Knight received so serious damage.
Unfortunately for him, it was just starting, and Aegis was also running on ti. She had five seconds left before the effect of unique skill wore off, and she wasn't going easy on him. She unleashed nine of her skills in quick succession.

After that, Lulu joined us, having eliminated the healer, and alongside her, we jumped on «Paladin», the effect of his unique skill no longer there.
"The heck, what is the guildmaster doing?!"
"You don't have to worry about him. Renandal-senpai is receiving warm hospitality from Rika and Lacritta. Noel is also supporting them with everything."
"Hihaa! «Rolling Sword»!"

"Arggh!"
Paladin felt like crying, but he had no tears left. Under the triple offense of Aegis, I, and Lulu, he could barely defend himself.
"Kuh—«Cover Action»!"
"Nuh-uh! «Lolita Tackle»!"
"What?!"
Paladin attempted using defensive skill to withstand our attack while joining Renandal-senpai, but Lulu stopped him in his tracks. Lolita Tackle broke off the activation of defense skill, and caused a fumble.
Well, it's a pity Lulu's headbutt didn't deal damage due to armour, but it at least caused his skill to fail. ...Hmm, there was also this *Claang* sound when Lulu's head struck Paladin's armor. I hope her forehead didn't get a bump.
"Wow, It surprised !"
Lulu murmured while pressing her hands on her forehead. She looked adorable doing that. So, she was alright at least.
"Give a break! «Holy Heal»!"
With his HP gradually dwindling, Paladin activated his self-healing skill, hoping to stand his ground, but a pity he just created an opening for us.
Aegis and I imdiately jumped on him.
"Take this! «Flash Stab»!"
"Ta-dah! «Lightning Slash»!"
"Ab-babababa?!"
"Lulu's coming too! «Hero of the Lolita - SMASH»!"
"!!"
We imdiately gifted him with each of us major skills.
Lulu's attack, in particular, blew him away like a soccer ball being kicked off. As the finisher, I anticipated his landing spot, and unleashed my skill in that direction.
"«Shine Lightning»!"
"Nooo!!"
"Yay, we did it! You're amazing, Zephyr onii-sama!"
It was an area-wide skill, but I had noticed Crusader's unique skill ca off. With no room to defend, the skill caused him to slip just as he was about to land, and put him into Slip Down status. And that was our cue.
"Aegis, Lulu. No need to hold back now!"
"Understood! Now is our ti, indeed!"
"Aye-aye!"
Again three of us, each boasting significant offensive capabilities, Paladin's defensive ability could only last for that long before he was eliminated.
A mont later, Pala joined us, having eliminated the second healer.
"I am also done-desu! V for Victory!"
"Great job. Now they're in trouble!"
One end was clear, but there was no rest.
«Templar Knight» was back from Downed status, and alongside Renandal-senpai, they're currently locked into confrontation against Rika, Noel, and Lacritta's tag-team.
anwhile, the Crusader senior was currently kept busy by «Ignis».
We had already eliminated four of them. Was it our chance to eliminate them all? I thought of this when Rina contacted through «Guild Connect».
«Zephyr-san, we have a situation! The «Northwest Giant Castle» in the west has been brought down, and rt-san is eliminated!»
Ah. It was the news of our first loss in this duel, as well as the fall of a Giant Castle.
