“Since you are so stubbornly defiant,” said he, “I have no choice but to impose a slight punishnt upon you, to temper that impetuous spirit of yours.”
“Guards!” He turned around and called out in a loud, cold voice.
“Take the mistress to Can Garden. From now on, all the horses in the mansion are to be tended by her; all the clothing, to be washed by her. If she fails to comply, she shall not be fed.”
Upon hearing this, Su Yan trembled with fury.
“Chu Yuxiao, how can you treat this way!”
Chu Yuxiao looked back, his gaze rcilessly upon her as he said,
“This is actually lenient. Anyone who violates the rules of the Marquis Mansion would at the very least be beaten with fifty heavy strikes and then expelled. I am being lenient with you out of consideration for our marital bond—do not be ungrateful.”
“You! Despicable! I do not want your leniency. Punish with fifty strikes and expel from the Marquis Mansion!”
That would be for the best. From then on, they would go their separate ways, owing nothing to each other.

“Yes!” As several guards approached, Su Yan fiercely knocked them down.
“Who dares to touch will face my wrath!”
She pulled a knife from the waist of a guard, her expression resolute, as if prepared to face death.
She had decided that today she would break free from the Marquis Mansion, to a world vast and open!
“Princess! Your servant will help you!”
Jin Lan and Jin Hua likewise drew knives from the guards’ waists, standing united with her.
They had long been disgusted with the Marquis’s actions, and today they would share the Princess’s enmity, to vent their pent-up anger.
Chu Yuxiao let out a scoff. In a blur, he vanished.
The next instant, he appeared before the three of them; with a few snaps of his fingers, he had seized control of their martial arts, leaving them no chance to resist.
