Old Man Qiao’s eyes flashed with disbelief upon hearing, but before he could react, Mo Chen twisted his neck, causing his head to tilt at an odd angle.

Mo Chen shook his head, smiling without a word.
Su Yan grew even more curious, “Is it so kind of unspeakable secret?”
Shen Wu, not fond of her insatiable curiosity, said discontentedly:
“If the young master doesn’t wish to speak, you shouldn’t pry. There must be a reason he’s not telling you.”
Su Yan touched her nose sheepishly and muttered, “I was just curious.”
Mo Chen looked at her and laughed, “When the ti cos, I will naturally tell you.”
Leaving behind that enigmatic statent, he turned to look at Gu Lanzi.
He said with a smile, “Midnight is approaching, and I can’t save you. Take this and perhaps, in your final monts, you’ll suffer a little less.”
He handed her a white pill the size of a thumb.
Gu Lanzi’s hands trembled as she took it; her eyelashes quivered incessantly.
“Thank you,” she murmured, not expecting anyone to care at such a ti.
Feeling pity for her, Su Yan approached and said,
“Don’t be too sad. Death is not an end but a new beginning. I believe your next life will surely be filled with happiness.”
“Yes, I’ve heard the young master say, if one suffers greatly in this life, they are bound to be blessed in the next,” Shen Wu nodded in agreent.
Gu Lanzi smiled and nodded, tears sparkling in her eyes.
“Thank you all, thank you…”
At that mont, she had co to accept her fate.
