After regaining her composure, Su Yan got dressed properly and planned to pay her respects to Aunt Lan first.
A few steps to the right after exiting the door was Aunt Lan’s entrance.
“Hurry, take this prescription and fetch the dicine quickly,” said the sole nanny in the ancestral hall, handing a piece of paper to the maid with these instructions.

“That would be good, bring so as well,” the nanny spoke hoarsely.

“Okay, got it,” the maid turned around, only to see Su Yan approaching.

Upon seeing her, the nanny also quickly bowed in respect, “This servant greets the lady.”
Su Yan’s gaze fell on the paper in the maid’s hand and she asked, “What is that you’re holding?”
“This is a prescription the doctor wrote for Lady Lan. Her condition worsened last night, so today I am sending the maid to collect more dicine,” replied the nanny.
Su Yan reached out, took the prescription from the maid’s hand, and looked it over; indeed, it listed several herbs for nourishing the yin and replenishing the void.
“Why are Zixu and Yan Gui included? Although both of these herbs can enrich the blood, taking them together could actually be counterproductive.”
“Is that so? No wonder Lady Lan hasn’t improved after taking so much dicine. So that’s why.”
A look of sudden realization crossed the nanny’s face; a quick, strange expression flashed through her eyes.
She then hurriedly instructed the maid, “When you go to fetch the dicine, rember to tell the doctor at the dical clinic that we no longer need these two herbs.”
“Yes,” the maid nodded, bowed, and exited.
Su Yan found the nanny’s reaction a bit odd.
She did not seem panicked; rather, she calmly instructed the maid not to retrieve those two herbs.
Didn’t she know that the ingredients in a dicinal recipe should not be changed casually?
It’s not as simple as just asking to omit them.
Moreover, the doctor treating Lady Lan shouldn’t be just a quack, right? How could such a doctor be so careless as to write a prescription that included two incompatible herbs?
