Chapter 56: Chapter 56 Why Is She Always Disliked
Looking at Aunt Lan again, she gazed at Chu Yuxiao with the sa tenderness as if observing her own son, and Su Yan suddenly found her less detestable.
Thus, she would give her one more night; after everything had ended tomorrow, she would talk to her privately.
By evening, the three of them dined together, and it was deep into the night before they finished.
Aunt Lan seed to know their intentions. She kept smiling, asking no questions and saying nothing.
She let the two of them eat slowly, and they did so for several hours.
“I think it’s getting late; we should leave and not disturb the concubine’s rest anymore,” Chu Yuxiao suddenly said to Su Yan.

Su Yan glanced outside the window; it was already midnight, so Aunt Lan probably wouldn’t go down the mountain to commit murder now.
“All right. Aunt Lan, we’ll visit you again tomorrow. You should rest early,” Su Yan said to her with a smile.
“Good, you two should rest early as well.
I won’t keep you any longer today.
I have to wake up early tomorrow. I want to watch my sister and the Old Marquis being buried together.
That is my sister’s wish, and mine as well…”
There, she had said it.
Su Yan was certain that Chu Yuxiao wouldn’t harm her tonight.
At the very least, he would wait until her wish was fulfilled before confronting her about the murder.
After she had fallen asleep, the two of them walked out of the room and ca outside.
Su Yan cast a glance at the closed door and then turned to Chu Yuxiao, asking:
“Will there be another murder tonight?”
Under the moonlight, Chu Yuxiao’s expression was a blur, difficult to discern.
“There won’t be anymore. I’ve already had people stationed around; she won’t be able to leave.”
Having answered, he turned and headed towards the right, pushing open his door and entering, almost as if staying another second with Su Yan was unbearable.
Su Yan was speechless; she had never done anything to wrong him.
Why did he always seem to dislike her?
Well, she disliked him too!
If it weren’t for the investigation, she wouldn’t even bother speaking to him!
Angrily, Su Yan also stord back to her room.
Just as she closed the door, a maid carrying a bowl of dicine entered Aunt Lan’s room.
