He shut the door and instructed a guard outside: “The Emperor is hungry, go and check why the als aren’t ready yet.”
“Yes,” the guard responded with a salute, and then went downstairs.
Su Yan’s eyes lit up, seeing another opportunity.

Standing by the door and peering inside, she could see the guard she had just seen, talking to a cook.

She yanked him into the darkness, out of sight.
