"They won't give up at all," Fang laughed, feeling pretty much amused by how his friend was feeling, "now now, let's leave youngster's matters to youngsters. That kid said he'll co back in a few more hours, so we need to prepare everything for him."
"Fine," Sloth knew he was fighting a losing battle. Anjie already fell for William, and he even helped her in claiming her spot as a winner in that stupid challenge months ago.
If not for William being an outstanding and peculiar master, Sloth would have convinced the king to let Anjie stay away from him. But Sloth knew better, even better than Fang, knew how strong and deadly William was.
And what scared and shocked him was that feeling… "That kid… He isn't showing all his powers yet!"
The two started to lead other high-end masters on their side to kill the strongest groups of enemy masters and control more parts of this battlefield.
Since the step up of William's friends and guild masters, the beyond exhausted old masters retreated, took this ti to recuperate. They kept handling the brutal side of this war for long enough. And that rest was well deserved.
But the short holiday was now over. The fight was already heated up at the frontline. So, when those masters joined the fray, they helped in relieving lots of pressure over William's friends and guild masters.
"What are you doing here?" The mont Berry spotted Sloth and Fang leading their small, yet quite deadly, group of masters to the frontline, she ran over to ask, "you should recuperate and rest till he cos back."
"Who said I'll follow his orders?!!" Sloth harrumphed, feeling agitated again when he heard Berry's words.
"It's for the best of all of us, for everyone!" Anjie stepped up, joining the talk with Sara and a few other masters of their factions, "you should rest, that's for the best!"
"Anjie…" Sloth looked in a complicated way towards Anjie, "why are you risking your life by being at the frontline like this? Retreat and I'll do the sa!"
"No way! You are still overprotecting !" Anjie puffed her cheeks in a funny way, "you know I was eight years old a long ti ago! I'm a grown-up strong master now!"
"But…"
"Just let live my life as I want it," Anjie's face bead with a warm smile, "so please, go and rest, and leave the frontline for ."
"For everyone on our side," Ro appeared from behind, with Lara who just simply harrumphed when heard what Anjie said.
"Leave now," Anjie wanted Sloth to leave her alone and return to her father's side as soon as possible. In her eyes, Sloth was just hindering her plans by what he was trying to do.
She knew how Sloth valued her, if she had soone to call grandfather then Sloth would be that person. He was acting out of concern for her wellbeing, she got it. But at the sa ti, what he was trying his best to do was to stand between her and William.
She totally got where he ca from. Before eting William, Anjie was living the dull and boring life of an heir to the throne! There were even talks about if she needed to marry to give the kingdom a good king or she'd take the lead and not marry and live single for the rest of her life as a queen!
She never said anything to favour one solution over the other, not before she t William. When she felt her heart change, she announced it to her ntor; she'd go and marry this man and make him king!
She didn't know yet why Sloth was trying his best to separate her from William. In her eyes, Sloth was worried about her safety as she started to face deadly situations at a scary rising pace after joining William's side.
Yet she didn't know the real reason behind Sloth's actions. Sloth knew how special and powerful William was, and that was precisely why he didn't like the idea of mating his princess to him.
William wasn't the type of masters to sit idle and accept the title of king. Sloth was absolutely sure that William wasn't even putting the kingdom's highest seat in his eyes at all! A master like William would find the entire world a tiny place for him, that was why Sloth was trying his best to change Anjie's mind.
"Fine!" Sloth knew he'd reach nowhere if he kept stressing over this argunt with Anjie, "I'll leave the frontline for you, all of you, but I'll leave behind a few of the strongest masters…"
"ntor!" Anjie felt little helpless, tried to intervene and stop what Sloth intended, but the latter simply turned around and walked away while adding:
"This is my bottom line. Make sure to stay safe, your safety is above anything else in the world!"
"..."
"And here I was thinking my grandpa was acting strictly before with my William…" As the girls watched Sloth moving away with Fang, leaving behind ten old masters as promised, Sara stood by Anjie's side, bitterly sighing while recalling distant mories of the past.
"Old n are all the sa!" Berry joined the talk, while other girls looked at each other before laughing.
"Co on, at least you made him return," Lara hugged Anjie from behind, before patting her head, "you aren't just beautiful, you are also gutsy!"
"Hahaha, look who is speaking," Anjie shrugged and let herself loose from Lara's embrace, "let's go back and continue the fight!"
The ladies moved back, with the ten masters left behind by Sloth and Fang. As the two watched everyone return to the frontline with their spirit sense, Fang couldn't help but wonder:
"Are you going to let her fight recklessly like that? I thought you'd refuse and stick to her side!"
"What else can I do?" Sloth powerlessly comnted, "if I argued more, she wouldn't have listened. I left those to stand guard and protect her in tis of need."
