"They are brave, not following my footsteps, but they are doing a great job regardless..." William could say the girls matured enough to handle big battles on their own, but they weren’t exactly following his fighting style.
If he was the one leading the frontline like before, he’d prefer to venture solo, create havoc in enemy lines, while other masters would attack from the rear.
This was William’s signature pattern in attack, sothing that his fellow guild mbers and friends got used to but didn’t adopt or tried to copy.
No one would mimic his attack pattern as it was very peculiar, very challenging to do, and very risky especially in such intense wars.
"Now it’s ti to fortify this place..." William looked at the portal area and got lost in his thoughts.
The portal was situated in what he could describe as an underground cave. The entrance to this area was discovered by him, a passage through a fragile and unstable set of stones that ford part of the underground city grounds.
"I can’t tell if the entire area this portal is situated under is ford of such fragile rocks or not..." William didn’t want to take useless risks. He already fortified the underground city, and he knew it might not be enough to stop the devastative explosion of the bomb.
"I’ll be extra safe and lay double layers of formations here..." William decided to do his best, and make two sets of formations on top of each other here, "now it’s ti to call in a few guild masters to help..."
No one noticed William’s return until he sent his orders to his friends using spirit telepathy. He simply asked for a couple thousand masters to be sent his way, intending to use their help as he did at the underground city.
William didn’t wait for the masters to gather and started working at once. He jumped towards the ceiling and stabilised himself using the anchors and ropes. Then he started laying down the formations.
As he decided to lay double layered formations, he needed to work on the sa spot twice. He first laid down the first layer of formations, finished it, then started to lay down the second layer.
Just as he finished doing this for the first ti, he noticed how faster he beca in laying down the formations. "It’s better to use the help of the masters back there... They are still in the middle of laying down the formations, but I should tell Lina about this..."
As he noticed how effective and efficient he was thanks to his recent experience, he decided to use the help of the masters in the underground city as well.
So he went back to the above city, checked the situation there, before sending a ssage to Lina.
"Those monsters... At least we’ll get rid of them after the bomb detonates..." William could tell how deadly the fight in the underground city was with monsters. The monsters didn’t stop coming in large numbers, and they were quite relentless in their pursuit.
Their target was clear, to kill and stop the masters working on the formations. William also spotted so places where these monsters tried to ruin the formations laid recently, which further slowed down the working progress of the masters there.
"If I just got ti for that... Tsk!" William was enraged, yet he knew he had nothing to do to change that situation. He entrusted this battle to Lina and his guild masters, before returning back to the portal area.
"Luckily for us those monsters can’t sabotage the formations once an hour passes on laying them down... Or else..."
William felt how lucky he and everyone were when he thought about this possibility. If the monsters were able to attack and destroy the formations laid there, then he would need lots of masters to spread out and defend the entire city! And that would ruin the entire mission, and he would be forced to find another place to let the bomb detonate at!
After relaying his orders to Lina, William returned to the portal area, feeling like the masters up there would take much longer than he expected to co down here.
He made sure to tell Lina to wait for two hours after laying down the last formations, to defend the formations from monsters. That ant the masters up there would need at least eight hours before getting here to help.
"Luckily we have ti for all of that," William looked at the bomb he carried all the way up and down, feeling grateful for the ti it needed to detonate, "now it’s ti to make more formations!"
As he couldn’t see the masters sent by his friends yet, he decided to continue his work till they’d co here.
The delay was inevitable, as most of the trusted guild masters were fighting on the frontlines. Withdrawing them and sending them to William proved to be quite challenging for his friends.
William’s friends mistook his intentions and thought he needed the most skilled and strongest masters in the guild. His friends even considered pulling back fully from the frontlines, and leaving the fight for Sloth, Fang, and other high-end masters.
Yet Anjie didn’t like that. "If he wanted us, he’d directly ask for us to co for help, right?" She said to other girls, and the ladies nodded.
"He isn’t the type to get shy to ask such a thing," Sara said in agreent.
"He’d be only shy if we asked him to bed," Ro laughed mischievously, and her words made other girls laugh and giggle.
"Let’s just send the masters we stationed as our reserve," Berry suggested.
"We should consider his need for stronger masters... Who knows, he always attracts trouble anywhere he goes!" Lara was taking her thoughts too far, yet all girls agreed on what she said.
"Let’s get so from the strongest of our factions then with rest from the reserve," after a few minutes of discussion, Anjie concluded the short eting with these words.
