Now reading: Chapter 1452: Can I Have One of those Flying Spears? from Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master, a Action novel by ranmaro.

Flying spears… a brilliant strike, William thought, a rare look of satisfaction softening his features. He realised he might have underestimated the latent talent within the Academy's walls.

He watched Ellina work, her brow furrowed in concentration as she managed the teamwork of the unit, and he made a silent ntal note. She has talent and the drive to match it. I'll do her a favour later—perhaps it's ti to officially recruit her to my side.

"They are good," Becky admitted, her gaze fixed on the elite group of masters led by Ellina. "Mastering flying weapons while still in the lower realm? Why am I not surprised by this?"

"Don't ask ," William replied, rolling his eyes. He let out a dry cough, a blatant attempt to deflect any lingering bla. "I was just minding my own business back then. She's the one who stumbled upon and insisted on watching work."

Becky chuckled, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I wonder why you let her stay. And where does she rank? I assu she isn't just another one of the many admirers flooding your path, right?"

"Ahem." For the second ti, William coughed. He felt targeted, as if Becky were peeling back layers of his personal life for sport. "Just keep watching. I have other things to attend to."

"Coward!" she bellowed after him.

William ignored the remark entirely, his focus shifting back to the carnage. He threw himself into the fray with renewed force, carving a path through the monster tide. His eyes were locked on a massive, swirling portal looming in the distance.

He knew that simply thinning the herd of monsters and bears wasn't enough. The beasts would continue to pour into the town in an endless, suffocating wave until the source was severed.

While Berry had brought the masters to the front lines to demonstrate the efficacy of the spears, William seized the opening.

Utilising his own summoned monsters as a vanguard, he pushed through the thickest part of the swarm, eventually reaching the gateway and successfully collapsing it.

He was acutely aware that the ease with which Berry and the others wielded the spears was initially due to the distraction provided by his monsters. However, as the battle progressed, the true star of the show erged: the flying spears themselves.

The weapons acted as an autonomous, endless grinder. They moved with a predatory grace, simultaneously striking out at the bears and forming a rotating periter of defence around the masters.

No matter how the bears tried to lunge or overpower the humans, the mobile spears forced them to shift their attention. The bears found themselves constantly redirected, hunting down the elusive tal instead of the masters.

Slowly, the battlefield transford into a surreal, shocking tableau. To an outside observer, it appeared as though half of the monster tide had turned traitor, relentlessly attacking the other half.

Eventually, the conventional spears the masters had brought were exhausted or lost in the dirt, leaving only the gleaming, autonomous flying spears active across the scorched earth.

From the sidelines, Fang watched a spear whistle past his head, its tip dripping with dark ichor. He couldn't hide the hunger in his expression. "Is there a way to get more of those?" he asked, pointing toward the weapon. "I could use that kind of reach."

Ellina, who was overseeing the deploynt, stepped forward. She was careful to manage expectations. "We have a few extras, but our stock is limited. We only have a handful of these specifically crafted spears in our possession. At most, we can outfit a group of maybe one hundred masters."

"One hundred masters… Not bad at all," Fang mused, rubbing his chin. He paused, a thought occurring to him. "But doesn't a weapon like that require a specialised thod to link it to one's spirit power? It looks complex."

"We have unlinked spears ready for that very reason," Ellina said, her voice brimming with pride. With a fluid motion, she drew a fresh spear and tossed it toward Fang. "Try it. A single drop of blood is enough to initiate the binding process."

Fang didn't need to be told twice. He was notoriously impatient when it ca to new gear, often acting like a child with a brand-new toy. He quickly pricked his finger, pressing it to the cold tal.

Once the link to his spirit was established, his eyes lit up. With a flick of his wrist and a surge of ntal energy, he sent the spear whistling through the air, practising tight turns and long-range lunges against distant monsters.

"Amazing!" he shouted, unable to contain his excitent. "The craftsmanship behind these is marvellous! The manufacturing process must be revolutionary."

"Thank you, but the credit belongs to a certain soone," Ellina said. She allowed herself a mont to bask in the victory, but she was careful to ensure the recognition flowed back to William.

Fang laughed, the sound booming over the clashing of steel. He thought back to the intricate lightning array he had received from the young man.

"He is indeed a phenonon. Our world is fortunate to have produced such a prodigy. I feel lucky just to live in this era and witness his growth with my own eyes."

"Yes, that's the truth of it," several nearby masters added, murmurs of agreent rippling through the ranks.

"It's not the ti for chitchat!"

William's voice cut through their praise like a blade. He was dashing back from the front lines, his armour splattered with gore. "I managed to take down one gate thanks to the opening you provided, but we aren't out of the woods yet. The periter isn't safe."

He slid to a halt in front of them, his breathing heavy but controlled. "Go back, replenish your energy, and start producing these spears by the thousands. We need to be ready to join different battlefields across the region. This isn't an isolated incident."

He paused, his gaze shifting toward Lara, who still looked shell-shocked by the sheer scale of the destruction.
