Three days later, in a stone house within the Extre North Fortress.

Outside, wind and snow were raging, but inside the stone house, it was as warm as spring. Through the window, one could see a female general speaking, with a map behind her.

"The east and south lines must attack simultaneously. Kelli and Hadi are under your command."

Esdeath was laying out the strategy for tomorrow, her wounds were mostly healed.

"Yes."

The two leaders accepted the orders, full of confidence on their faces.

"Tomorrow, the ’Dongdong Tower Fortress’ will be the main attack point. At that ti, I will lead the charge through the front gate. Bai Ye, you will infiltrate the enemy fortress tonight and wait for the opportunity to assassinate Numa Sika."

Su Xiao nodded, and Esdeath continued to map out the strategy.

Su Xiao pondered internally that this war wouldn’t last long. Esdeath’s Imperial tool, the ’Essence of the Demon,’ was exceptionally powerful in war, making the army rely cover for her, with Esdeath being the sole main force.

Once this war ends, Esdeath will certainly return to the Imperial Capital. As Esdeath’s deputy, there is over an eighty percent chance that he will return with her.

There wasn’t only one deputy like Su Xiao in the army. Since he didn’t show commanding ability, the chances of Esdeath keeping him in the army were low.

The real mission was to quickly end the war and return to the Imperial Capital. With the Contractors’ interference, the capital must be in chaos by now.

The strategy eting ended quickly, with Su Xiao being left behind by Esdeath.

"Here is the information on Numa Sika. He’s not easy to deal with, doesn’t fancy won, leads a simple life, but he has one weakness: he loves to drink."

n in the Extre North all loved drinking, due to the frigid climate.

"He usually drinks after ten at night. However, assassinating him at night won’t be easy, so act as required."

"Understood."

Esdeath’s intentions were clear: find a way to eliminate Numa Sika.

A bag was tossed onto the eting table with a thud.

"This contains maps, cold-proof clothing, high-calorie food, and so small tools for infiltration. There are also two signal flares: red for failure and needing rescue, green for successful but trapped inside enemy lines."

Esdeath’s arrangents were ticulous. With Su Xiao now one of their own, Esdeath’s sadistic nature had faded.

"Got it."

Su Xiao rely nodded.

"So cold. Hurry back. Rember, you are now part of the Anbu, not a Death Warrior."

"Alright."

Su Xiao took a winter coat from the bag and put it on. It fit perfectly, probably sewn from so dangerous beast’s fur, offering excellent cold resistance and not being bulky, allowing easy movent.

"Co back soon."

Esdeath showed concern for her subordinates.

"Yes."

Su Xiao left the eting room, and after he left, Esdeath found a signal flare on the table, the red one representing mission failure.

"Only permitted to succeed, not to fail. This ti, I’ve really hit the jackpot: exceptional power, a cold personality, uninterested in anything but orders. Which country trained such an outstanding talent?"

Esdeath sat at the eting table, resting her chin on one hand, while the other played with the red signal flare.

"After the war, bring him back to the Imperial Capital. This kind of person doesn’t belong in the army."

Thud.

Esdeath stood the red signal flare upright on the table. If one were to dismantle it, they would find it’s empty!

Anbu failing the mission equated to death. How could there be rescue?

...

Amidst the howling wind and snow, Su Xiao moved forward on the snowy ground with a map in hand.

At this mont, no one else was around. Su Xiao stretched his stiffened facial muscles; pretending to be expressionless wasn’t easy, and he felt like he forgot how to smile.

"Damn Anbu."

Su Xiao cursed under his breath. The past three days of ’intense’ pretending had been ntally and physically exhausting. He swore never to disguise himself as Anbu again.

"Numa Sika from ’Dongdong Tower Fortress,’ is it?"

He studied a portrait in his hands, depicting a young man.

...

On the low walls of Dongdong Tower Fortress.

"Did you hear? They dispatched troops again, this ti as many as five hundred thousand."

One of the Extre North Army standing guard on the wall said, with so concern on his face.

"Tch, no matter how many co, it won’t matter. Twenty thousand ca before, and what happened then?"

"They’re just feeding the wolves. All those bastards from the Empire should die."

Sounds of ridicule arose; the Extre North Army seed disdainful of the Imperial Army.

"It’s about ti. Why hasn’t the shift change arrived yet?"

One soldier began to grow impatient.

"Tell about it. Recently, those ’Kalibat tribe’ guys have been growing more arrogant, flaunting their victories."

"I’ll go urge them."

"I’ll go too."

A few soldiers left one after another, leaving an older soldier shaking his head, not wanting to offend anyone.

"Youngsters, hmph!"

A muffled groan, and the older soldier slumped down. Su Xiao climbed over the wall and threw the older soldier into a snowdrift outside the fortress city, disappearing within the town.

Night enveloped the area, and the fierce winds in the Extre North’s rare pause, yet the falling snowflakes continued.

There was no electricity in the fortress town, and after finishing their acts of procreation, every household went to bed early, making the town unusually quiet.

Su Xiao moved through the buildings, always finding the most secluded spots possible.

"The twenty-third on the left side, then the seventy-third."

Su Xiao confird Numa Sika’s residence quickly, pinpointing a stone house.

The stone house wasn’t large but, compared to other buildings in the fortress city, at least it could block the bone-chilling winds.

There were no guards at the door; Numa Sika was himself the strongest combatant in the Extre North, requiring no guards.

Su Xiao approached the stone house and sensed the situation inside: a young male drinking alone—the man inside was Numa Sika.

"Marsha, I’ll avenge you, soon."

Numa Sika was clearly drinking in solitude, and the powerful liquor seed to have no effect on him.

Su Xiao waited outside the house for a better opportunity, refraining from a brute force assassination. If he alerted too many people, he might not leave alive today.

Ti passed, and it was around one in the morning, with temperatures outside even colder.

Numa Sika had fallen asleep. With Su Xiao controlling his aura that not even the most dangerous beasts could sense him, Numa Sika certainly couldn’t.

He walked to the entrance door quietly, holding a test tube containing a grayish-white liquid.

Pouring the liquid through the gap below the door, it vaporized rapidly, diffusing into an odorless smoke.

Su Xiao put on a gas mask, as the substance would affect him too if inhaled.

After quietly waiting for ten minutes, Su Xiao pushed open the door and entered the stone house.

A wave of warmth t him. Numa Sika, the alien prince, lay flat on the bed, his body trembling slightly.

"How co...?"

The alien prince couldn’t even speak clearly, let alone fight.

"Nothing is impossible."

He placed the Dragon Slash horizontally on Numa Sika’s neck, the blade cutting down.

Spurt.

A head was severed. The alien prince, renowned in the Extre North, had been easily killed.
