Nagato could control six corpses, granting each different abilities. These six were collectively known as Pain.
The six bodies were: Heavenly Dao (the core of Pain), Shurado, Ningendo, Chikushodo, Gakido, and Jigokudo.
The Heavenly Dao was created from Yahiko’s corpse, who was once Nagato and Konan’s companion.
