"Nini, are you okay?"
Li Tingyan finally had the chance to show concern for his wife, but the image of that elderly gentleman kept flashing in his mind. He felt as though he had seen him sowhere before.
"I’m fine, just a little sore in my arms."
Nianyang shook her head and quickly jumped out of Li Tingyan’s embrace. The tis weren’t like the modern era; even married couples couldn’t be too intimate in public, or they’d attract gossip. Although she wasn’t afraid of rumors, she didn’t care to hear them either!
"Miss Gu, you’re incredible, you saved that old gentleman!"
Ruan Weidong spoke up, instantly stirring the surrounding guests, who were all moved to applause for Nianyang.
Li Tingyan watched everyone heaping praises on Nianyang, feeling a sense of pride in his heart.
However, he didn’t really want others to see this dazzling little wife.
An enigmatic gleam flashed in Li Tingyan’s eyes. He wanted, so desperately wanted, to lock this little woman away where only he could see her.
So that her brilliance would shine for him alone.
Nianyang inexplicably felt a little chilly and shivered. Puzzled, she looked up; the weather was quite nice today.
Turning toward Li Tingyan, the man slowly gave her a deeply affectionate smile, "Nini, I’m proud of you."
After enjoying enough excitent, everyone soon dispersed. Ruan Weidong invited Nianyang and Li Tingyan to the best private room in the restaurant, ordering a table full of dishes to treat them.
"Miss Gu, thank you so much for earlier. Without you, our restaurant’s reputation could have been tarnished." Ruan Weidong expressed his gratitude.
Actually, the restaurant going under would have been a minor issue. The key was that, judging from the old gentleman’s attire, it was clear he belonged to the upper echelons of society. If sothing had happened to him in the restaurant, who knows what irreversible consequences it might have on his other businesses. Nianyang essentially saved him again!
Nianyang shook her head, saying it was nothing. Suddenly recalling sothing, she asked, "Boss, I don’t rember telling you my last na is Gu; how did you know?"
Ruan Weidong chuckled, "Why, Miss Gu, do you not rember ? Over a month ago in the black market, you rid of the Gu Poison and saved my life!"
Upon hearing Ruan Weidong’s words, Nianyang suddenly realized. She thought this person looked sowhat familiar, and indeed, they had t before!
Last ti she treated him, he was so thin he looked skeletal, but now he was quite a handso uncle!
The transformation was so significant that Nianyang almost didn’t recognize him.
"Oh, so it’s you, Sir. What a coincidence! But weren’t you in Pingjing? How co you’re here?"
"Haha, this restaurant is a branch I own in the provincial city. I just happened to co by today to take a look, and I unexpectedly ran into you. Miss Gu, you’ve saved twice now; it’s a debt of gratitude I’ll never be able to repay in this lifeti!"
"It’s nothing, I’m a doctor after all, and treating patients is my duty. I can’t accept such praise from you, Sir!"
"Oh, don’t be so modest. And don’t call Sir; it’s too formal. I’m Ruan Weidong. You can call Uncle Ruan. Ever since we parted ways at the black market, my wife has been longing to et you again!"
Ruan Weidong said happily. They had left Nianyang a note, hoping she would contact them, but never received any news. They didn’t expect a serendipitous reunion today.
It’s really fate!
Nianyang chuckled, "Alright, Uncle Ruan. But I’m living in a town village, and I’m only here in the provincial city to handle so errands. When I go to Pingjing for college next year, I will definitely visit Aunt Ruan... Oh no, Aunt Ning!"
