It takes over seven hours to travel from the county to Pingjing.
To ensure comfort, Nianyang generously bought a sleeper berth, which has four beds in the compartnt. Most people these days aren’t well-off and usually aren’t willing to spend money on a sleeper; having a soft sleeper is a big deal!
So, in the large sleeper compartnt, Nianyang was the only one there.
Without others, it was pleasantly quiet. Nianyang chose a seat by the window, watching the rapidly passing scenery outside, thinking about how she was about to start a new life with Li Tingyan, and couldn’t help but feel excited.
At three in the afternoon, the train arrived at Pingjing Station. Nianyang struggled to drag her large and small bags out of the crowd, exhausted and panting with sweat all over her forehead.
You ask why she didn’t put her luggage in her space?
That’s because she brought so many things when getting on the train that people would have noticed if the luggage appeared to have lessened when getting off. Wouldn’t that raise suspicion?
Luckily, she hadn’t walked far before Xiao Wu and Dong Hu, who had been waiting for her at the station, spotted her and rushed over.
"Saozi, we finally got to you. The Boss sent us to pick you up!"
"Hi there!"
Nianyang wiped the sweat off her forehead and smiled at them.
Xiao Wu and Dong Hu were dazzled for a mont by Nianyang’s radiant smile. It had only been just over two months since they last saw her, and she was looking even more beautiful.
"Saozi, you must have had a tiring journey. Let us help you with the luggage."
Coming to their senses, Xiao Wu and Dong Hu dared not look at Nianyang again, but instead diligently took over the large and small bags that Nianyang was carrying on her back and in her hands.
They knew that their manager, Li Tingyan, was very possessive. If he found out they were staring at Saozi, who knows how he’d put them through their paces!
They moved quickly, and before Nianyang realized it, all her luggage was taken by them, making her feel unbelievably light.
She looked at Xiao Wu and Dong Hu, who were laden with her luggage, scratched her chin, and said, sowhat embarrassed,
"I’ve got too much stuff, let carry sothing..."
Xiao Wu, "No worries, Saozi! We’re in sales, thick-skinned and used to the elents. This is nothing!"
Dong Hu, "Yeah, it’s a bit chilly in Pingjing. The manager had us drive the company car to pick you up. Saozi, hurry and co with us. Our pier is on the outskirts, and it’ll take another two hours by car to get there."
They were so enthusiastic that Nianyang couldn’t refuse, nor could she waste their ti, so she quickly followed them to the car.
Two hours later, the car stopped at the entrance to the pier. Xiao Wu and Dong Hu disembarked with the luggage, leading Nianyang inside. As they passed the gate, they instructed the two gatekeepers,
"This is Manager Li’s wife, rember her. Call her Saozi in the future, okay?"
The two gatekeepers turned robotically towards Nianyang, bowed simultaneously, and shouted loudly,
"Hello, Saozi!"
"..."
Nianyang slipped a little in her step, awkwardly returning a smile to them, thinking that as expected from soone in the company, they were always so ceremonious.
Entering the Fishern District, Xiao Wu and Dong Hu guided Nianyang toward the residential area.
Because Nianyang had such outstanding looks, she attracted curious glances from many sailors and workers along the way.
The Fishern District, apart from housing the sailors’ leaders, also hosts workers doing seaside business, all part of the sa business chain.
Xiao Wu and Dong Hu walked proudly in front, introducing Nianyang to the people around them, "Don’t stare, this is Manager Li’s wife, our Saozi!"
