Shi Feng’s face tensed up. On an early sumr night, the street lamps slowly passed over Nianyang’s head. She wore a white cotton dress, clearly looking soft and gentle, but every word she spoke was so heartless.
Later, Nianyang walked away directly, leaving Shi Feng standing there dumbfounded, tears of anger welling up in his eyes.

Returning to the Li Family estate, Jiang Tian noticed sothing was off the mont she saw the car door and quickly scurried back inside. Li Tingyan caught Nianyang’s hand as she pushed the car door, "What were you talking about with that guy just now?"
Nianyang glanced at him, "Why, are you paranoid again?"
Li Tingyan cleared his throat, "Ahem, I was just asking..."
Nianyang rolled her eyes at him, "Nothing much, just gave him a hundred bucks as compensation. He’s probably so angry he won’t bother anymore. Are you satisfied now, Brother Li?"
Li Tingyan couldn’t suppress the curve of his lips, though he couldn’t appear too eager, so he coolly replied with a hum.
He contemplated for a mont, "That guy seems quite persistent. He even ca up with the idea of a lion dance today. He genuinely holds you in his heart. Aren’t you a little moved?"
Nianyang looked deeply into his eyes and was just about to get out of the car when the man embraced her from behind.
"Nini, are you angry?" he asked sowhat anxiously. He knew Nianyang too well; even though she hadn’t said a word, he could sense her anger.
Nianyang pouted and snorted, saying, "No!"

After a mont of silence, Li Tingyan kissed her hair in frustration, "I know I shouldn’t be like this, but that guy was right. He’s more romantic and knows better how to win a girl’s heart. Sothing like today’s event, I would never have thought of. I’m really useless; I can’t help you with anything."
Nianyang’s heart softened a little, and she didn’t move. She just turned her face slightly against his and said softly,
"You don’t have to do anything, just focus on your work and stay safe, that’ll be the biggest help to . Don’t overthink, okay? Don’t get worked up over irrelevant people. We hardly have much ti to be together, and besides being with you, I don’t want anything else."

The next morning, as usual, Nianyang woke up in Li Tingyan’s bed. Last night, they had agreed to go to Sea City for a few days to make up for the plan they had on Li Tingyan’s birthday.
Nianyang had been anticipating it all night, dreaming of a sweet date, only to wake up in the morning to find the space next to her empty and cold, unsure of how long he had been gone.
Nianyang rubbed her eyes and sat up, spotting a small note on the table that read,
[Sorry, my dear, a last-minute work trip ca up. I had to leave in the middle of the night. You can scold or hit when I return.]
