Point-of-View: Satan

———————————————————————————

"Hey, I’m back. It’s your match next, so I’ll take your place here," Ca Larrk’s voice, as the door to the VIP area opened and he stepped in.

"Ah, it’s about ti, it feels like I’ve been waiting quite a while for this," I replied with a smile, standing up and stretching my arms up as he walked over and took my seat as I stepped aside.

"Good luck out there, put on a good show," He grinned as he gave a pat on the shoulder, making himself comfortable as I began to head out of the room.

Hah, co on, who does he think I am?

"Of course, you can count on ," I nodded affirmatively with a slight smirk, making my way out, shutting the door behind as I walked out the room and headed down to the arena.

My first opponent is a human, I don’t expect to get much of a challenge, so I should start out on the defensive and then end the fight once my opponent has fired off a few flashy moves.

That should make for a good show, it won’t be much fun if I end the fight as soon as it begins, after all. Larrk is the only human powerful enough to give a real challenge, and that’s largely thanks to the two Demonic Grade Contracts he possesses. I highly doubt that there are any other humans capable of fighting properly.

"Okay, we’re halfway through round one of the tournant, and it’s ti for the ninth match, it’s the Demon Lord Satan vs Phyurio Slymaster Bhaytes," The announcer’s voice rang out, as I stepped out into the open and approached the arena, my opponent already standing there.

The barrier ford as I stepped onto the arena, cheers of anticipation and excitent ringing out from the audience as I took my place and cracked my knuckles. This will be my only fight today, so I suppose I might as well savor it since I won’t get to fight again until tomorrow.

"Don’t suppose I can persuade you to go easy on , huh?" Remarked my opponent with a wry smile, looking rather nervous.

"Hm? Oh, on the contrary, I have no intention of unleashing my full power here. So, try and give a good challenge, give a reason to take this fight at least a little bit seriously," I responded with a slight chuckle.

"Well, I’ll certainly try my best, if nothing else..."

"Here’s the countdown...ten, nine, eight..."

Now, then, let’s see what this human is capable of. Who knows, maybe he’ll surprise ...

"Three, two, one, zero."

"Manifest Soul Weapon: Crowbar! And next, Initiate Skill: Speed Boost x10!" He chanted, before sprinting towards with impressive speed, closing in on rapidly.

Ah, not bad, he’s quite fast for a human. But he’s not fast enough to be a genuine threat to .

I arched my upper body back and tilted my head across to the right as he drove his weapon straight towards my face, thrusting it past the left side of my head before he suddenly twisted his grip on the weapon across and sharply yanked his arm back, my eyes widening in surprise as the curve at the end of his weapon hooked around the back of my neck, jerking forward as he ford an intense, crackling mass of lightning in his left hand and drove it up towards my chest.

I swiftly swung my arm up and grabbed his wrist right before his attack could reach , before I quickly spread out my wings and took off into the air, letting him go as he unhooked his weapon from the back of my neck and whipped the curved end across at the side of my head, grazing my forehead before he plumted down, his feet thudding against the floor of the arena.

I touched my forehead as I gained so altitude, trickles of blood running down from the cut he’d inflicted, before I wiped the blood away and healed myself, the cut closing up.

Well, now...I wasn’t expecting that, on top of the cut he inflicted, he very nearly landed a hit on with his opening attack as well, when he grabbed the back of my neck with his weapon.

And with how intense that lightning he’d generated was, while it wasn’t powerful enough to genuinely damage , it likely would have been powerful enough to damage my heart, and therefore trigger the barrier and teleport out.

What an embarrassing way to lose that would have been, it’s a good thing I didn’t underestimate him too much and completely lower my guard...

"I must apologize, I miscalculated how much of a challenge you would pose, I-...," I began, before trailing off as he unleashed a fierce burst of flas from the soles of his feet and launched himself up towards , charging up a swirling fireball and taking aim at .

He’s about four ters below , I can evade this easily-...hm?

I stiffened slightly as a sharp crackling sound echoed out from behind , as I quickly spun around just in ti to see a viciously sparking bolt of lightning charging up and shooting towards .

I swiftly raised my right hand, grimacing as the bolt struck my palm and burnt my skin, my palm crackling as smoke billowed out before I snapped my gaze across to my left as a burst rang out, my opponent having unleashed another burst of flas from his feet to close the distance between us, driving the swirling fireball straight towards with a roar of determination and exertion.

I quickly raised my left arm up, gritting my teeth as the swirling mass of flas collided against my forearm, my skin sizzling painfully as he sharply intensified the swirling of his flas, before I opened my mouth and unleashed a blast of Negative Energy straight towards him.

He swiftly swung his left arm out and fired out a burst of flas to launch himself across to his right, my blast shooting through the gap over his left shoulder and the next to the left side of his face, nicking his left ear and the top of his shoulder, eliciting a stifled gasp of pain before he let himself plumt down and landed on the arena with a firm thud, taking in a deep breath and slowly exhaling, as I healed the burns on my right hand and left arm.

Okay, I can’t keep holding back so much, this human may not be all that powerful, but he is highly skilled in using his abilities...he used that Speed Boost Skill at its full extent of a tenfold multiplier, I believe that Skill only lasts for two minutes at a tenfold boost, after which the user’s movents are compromised for five to ten minutes.

If I’m not mistaken, he has less than half a minute now before that Skill reaches its ti limit...as a show of respect for the impressive fight he’s displayed, I shall end this before he reaches that ti limit and is rendered helpless against ...

"Obliteration," I remarked, as I unleashed several energy beams of my Obliteration ability, his eyes widening in alarm as he raced across the arena rapidly, my beams drilling deep holes through the floor of the arena as he ran around, ducking and weaving with impressive agility and reaction speed, before halting and starting to spring back as a beam ca shooting straight down towards him, but he didn’t have enough ti to react to it.

Right before the beam could engulf him, the barrier activated and teleported him out, before my beam slamd onto the arena and burrowed down through the floor.

I floated down with a slow exhale as the beam petered out, cracking my neck as my feet landed on the floor...that was much more of a challenge than I’d anticipated, regardless of the fact that I wasn’t taking it seriously at first...

"And the winner of match number nine of round one is the Demon Lord Satan."

Hm, I don’t think I ca out looking too good in that fight...in fact, it’s likely that guests from the other nations are now of the opinion that I am not as powerful as they’d assud.

After all, my opponent was a normal human without any extraordinary abilities at his disposal, and the fact that he was able to challenge to that extent could lead them to believe that they might be able to defeat by overwhelming with numbers or sothing like that.

Well, that’s fine, I’ll just have to make sure that I fix those misconceptions tomorrow. I’ll give them no room for any doubt towards my power...
