"Co on, you can do better than that. Move faster, and attack harder," Instructed Celes, as Arucei shot towards her and fired out a blast of telekinesis.
Celes evaded it with ease, before slipping behind her and striking her back, sending her stumbling forward.
"Um, could you be more specific? I’m not really sure what to do," Responded Arucei, as she tried to catch her breath.
Three days had passed since she showed up, and it was currently around midday. Celes was busy training her, we decided to alternate training her, I did so yesterday, and Celes took over today.
Of course, since we have no way to heal any injuries she sustains, we’ve had to hold back a whole lot. We mainly just have her attack while we stay on the defense, and if we do attack, we just tap her instead of hitting her with any real force.
We carry out her training in multiple phases of a couple of hours throughout the day, then at night we fine-tune our plans to take over that city we plan to target, and after that...well, sex.
The plan’s coming along pretty nicely, I’d say, but it’s still going to be a while before we’re ready to make our move. Arucei has potential, but she’s nowhere close to having fully drawn it out yet.
We need to get to at least the level of an average S-Rank Adventurer before we attack the city. It’s certainly possible that Celes and I will be enough to handle the attack in our own, of course, but that’s no reason to get complacent.
It certainly won’t hurt to take so extra precautions and ensure that our plan has the best chance of success possible.
Arucei’s best use of her Magic was with using it to move, she could move at pretty impressive speeds by boosting herself telekinetically.
But her maneuvering could use so work...she can move fast, but that’s mainly in a straight line, she’s not so good at making sharp, sudden turns and adjustnts.
And that’s not because her Magic isn’t versatile enough, it’s more a ntal issue. She tends to freeze up and panic a bit when she needs to make a sudden change in her movents, which ends up leaving her open.
But she is showing signs of improving on that front...the sa can’t be said of her offensive use of her Magic though. She’s not great with aiming her attacks, and she struggles to pressurize and concentrate her attacks too.
They still pack a decent punch at close-range, but they lose a lot of montum and fade away real fast. Her defense, on the other hand, is pretty solid.
It works in conjunction with how she uses her Magic to boost the speed of her movents, it seems like she coats her entire body in a telekinetic force field.
It’s pretty hard to break though, it’s got a springy feel to it and can absorb a fair bit of force. Celes and I almost certainly can generate enough force to break through it, but half-hearted punches or kicks don’t do anything.
It also keeps her safe from getting burnt or electrocuted, unless such attacks are launched with enough force to overwhelm her telekinetic defense, of course.
Her defense is definitely her strongest suit at the mont, and her offense is her weakest area...that said, I figured it’d be most practical to focus on improving, refining and sharpening her movents.
With the speed she can generate, if she can move more freely at full speed, it won’t matter much if she isn’t good at ranged attacks, she’d be able to close the gap between her and any enemies she faces off against and then blast them point-blank.
I’ve been using Lucifer’s telekinetic abilities in my previous world as fra of reference to advise her, but I’d like to give her more creative options too. To that end, Celes and I plan on showing Arucei so ani where characters have telekinetic powers, that might help give her so ideas.
"Alright, co on, let’s keep going," Called out Celes, as Arucei caught her breath and lifted her gaze.
"Y-Yeah, okay," She nodded, before sprinting towards Celes, accelerating rapidly.
She leapt forward as she closed in and drove her palm towards Celes’s chest, who swiftly turned her body across as a telekinetic burst erupted out of Arucei’s palm, before Celes swept her foot across, striking Arucei’s shin and knocking her off-balance.
While her defensive forcefield is keeping her from taking any damage, striking with the right timing is effective in upsetting her balance. Hm...
"Hey, if I can make a suggestion, why don’t you try sparring without using that telekinetic forcefield? If you can sharpen your natural movents and beco more familiar with the limits of your body, that might help make it easier to move while using this technique," I suggested, as Arucei wiped her sleeve across her forehead.
"Ohh, that’s a good idea. Yeah, I think that could work, it’s worth a try, at least," Responded Celes with a nod.
"Um, okay," Replied Arucei, deactivating the forcefield before lunging at Celes, driving her hand towards her face.
Celes’s arm shot up rapidly, grabbing Arucei’s wrist and tilting her head across as a telekinetic blast burst out of Arucei’s palm, whizzing past the left side of Celes’s head.
Celes then yanked on Arucei’s wrist, pulling her off-balance before letting go and swiftly slipping behind her, flicking the back of her neck.
"Ow...," Muttered Arucei, stumbling before regaining her balance.
She keeled over slightly, her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath.
"Guess it’s ti for a break, you look like you’re completely out of steam. It’s too bad we can’t turn you into a Unique Monster too, that’d give you a lot more stamina," Celes sighed wistfully.
"We’re just going to have to be patient, she isn’t going to improve overnight, you know," I pointed out, as I walked over and tossed a couple of water bottles towards them.
"I-I’ll do my best...I have to," Responded Arucei, a determined look on her face as she opened the bottle and chugged it down...
