Bardmon City... the na itself stemd from the word Bard.
What was a bard?
A bard was a professional storyteller, verse-maker, and musician who celebrated heroes, preserved oral traditions, and composed eulogies.
The history of Bardmon City was well-known to almost every citizen in the city.
This city used to be sward with monsters until brave soldiers took arms and risked their lives to repel the monsters.
Many lives were lost in the process, but at the sa ti, many heroes were born as they fought hard to earn a safe territory for their kind to live in.
Although many years had gone by since then, nobody had forgotten its origin.
Xu Feng had also heard nurous bards in the street playing music that honored the deceased heroes.
Their patriotism and loyalty were unmatched.
The only pitiful thing was that their City Magistrate cowered in the face of the powerful nobles.
But was the City Magistrate really a terrible person?
Not quite!
If they were really despicable, Xu Feng would have encountered obstacles left and right the mont he entered the city.
However, none of that happened, and he was even assigned servant Jason to guide him well.
This goes to show that the City Magistrate was helpless too, and could only assist him in this roundabout manner.
As for why these soldiers went to dine in the restaurant, Xu Feng had a gist of the idea behind it.
They didn’t go there to relax and enjoy a feast, but were taking it as their last al.
His deploynt to Bardmon City wasn’t kept a secret, so the City Magistrate definitely knew the mont he sought the Military Headquarters that many soldiers would have to risk their lives to confront the Colossuses’ army.
Of course, Xu Feng must admit that he initially thought the City Magistrate was one of those corrupted or selfish rulers.
But after this series of testing, he could confirm that these soldiers regarded their City Magistrate highly.
’No wonder Razor Nightmare failed to set foot into the City Hall.’
He reckoned that the City Magistrate of Bardmon City had detected their vile intentions and barred them from gaining too much power.
And the reality had proven they were indeed wise to withhold power from them.
After all, the evidence he provided to Jason must have been seen by the City Magistrate now.
’In the past tiline, Bardmon City lost half of its territory because the Razor Nightmare refused to sacrifice their resources much to defend it when compared to other guilds.’
They reserved the forces and took advantage of their recuperation period to establish authority.
Truth be told, Xu Feng was going to let it play out as it was because he honestly couldn’t be bothered to dabble into too many things.
Unfortunately, the Razor Nightmare just had to ss with him for reasons he still hadn’t figured out yet.
Like, what in the world do they want from him?
There was nothing of significance that would garner their attention besides their recent raid completion.
If it were truly the case, then the timing didn’t match because Xu Feng was positive Razor Nightmare was already targeting him and his guild way before the film festival even began.
’Forget it, I’ll know their intention sooner or later.’ He snapped out of it and glanced at the soldiers, who remained in position.
Not a single one of them had stepped forward to retreat from the battlefield.
"Very well, you have about 10 minutes to get ready before we depart for the defense border." Xu Feng announced solemnly.
In the blink of an eye, the soldiers saluted and retreated to their dormitory.
"What is your na?" Xu Feng then turned to the person who had beckoned for them.
"I am called Kong Ming." The person, Kong Ming, said.
’Kong Ming? Zhuge Liang, the great strategist?’ He was a bit startled and taken aback by the latter’s na.
"Do you perhaps know a bit about the art of war and strategy?" He then inquired.
Kong Ming nodded without much thought. "I have read so military books, but never actually implented anything in real events."
The humbleness yet laced with so bitterness dumbfounded Xu Feng.
"Try and co up with a few strategies in this battle, Kong Ming." He approached him and patted his shoulder lightly. "This is your chance to shine."
Kong Ming’s brows twitched slightly.
"C-Co again?"
"I said you can now use this opportunity to draft a few strategies for to browse. If they’re good, I’ll let you take command of a few platoons."
Although the na was truly a shocker to Xu Feng, he knew very well that this person couldn’t possibly be the historical figure. Nevertheless, he still wanted to see their potential.
If they truly have the knacks and talents for it, then Xu Feng must poach this NPC away.
One shouldn’t contend with not having enough great strategists to work for them.
Of course, one must also tread carefully to avoid resentnt among the strategists who wish to outdo each other.
Additionally, he was only giving Kong Ming a chance to see if he could lead the military in the future.
Xu Feng had no intention of prolonging his stay in Bardmon City, especially when the City Magistrate was quite beloved by its citizens.
Rather than take over the city, he wouldn’t mind establishing an alliance or a cooperative relationship with the Bardmon City Magistrate.
"I’ll head over there to prepare myself then." Kong Ming said with a tinge of excitent.
"Wait, have so soldiers follow you for protection." Xu Feng raised his hand to halt him. The defense border was a dangerous place.
"It’s okay, Sir." Kong Ming shook his head and suddenly kicked the ground softly.
A soft shockwave was created as Kong Ming soared to the sky and disappeared from the horizon.
Xu Feng’s jaws dropped at the sight. His clothes were slightly ripped from the residual as well.
Keep in mind that his clothes were of high quality, too!
’That Kong Ming is Tier 4?? What the hell is he doing??’ His pupils constricted from astonishnt. He had never been so astounded before since his reincarnation.
