As soon as they finished eating, Cui Hao transford into a gossip hound and went off to dig up so juicy stories. Xue Yang, on the other hand, went to the library.

He had to report to the student union after his afternoon classes. It was his first day in the position, and to be honest, Xue Yang was quite nervous. He focused all his attention on writing his speech, revising it over and over. During that ti, he didn’t even look up, not for a sip of water or a trip to the restroom.

About two hours later, Cui Hao ca rushing in. "Hey, you! Tell , is this you?"

Xue Yang leaned over to look. Wasn’t that the custor review photo of him and Lin Xi for TrendStyle? He knew that review was pretty famous among the brand’s followers, but what did it have to do with the current gossip?

Cui Hao swiped on his phone. "And this."

It was the latest promotional photo for TrendStyle. There were several models, but Xue Yang’s picture was placed front and center. Being in the center of a promotional photo, especially for an affordable luxury brand like TrendStyle, obviously ant sothing big.

No wonder everyone in the cafeteria was staring at him today. It turned out they had all seen the TrendStyle promo shot and were curious.

"Spill it. What’s going on? When did you beco the spokesperson for TrendStyle?" Cui Hao sat down next to Xue Yang with the air of an interrogator.

Xue Yang glanced at the photo before looking away. "I thought you already knew," he said nonchalantly.

After agreeing to do the photoshoot for TrendStyle’s new season, Xue Yang knew this day would co. He just hadn’t expected it to attract so much attention.

Then it dawned on Cui Hao. Xue Yang really had told him he was doing so photo editing for TrendStyle.

"So you went from editing photos to becoming their spokesperson? No wonder you said you didn’t want to join the Lin Corporation. You’re aiming for showbiz!"

Xue Yang looked at Cui Hao and said frankly, "I just want to make more money."

"Can’t you make money at the Lin Corporation?"

"Of course I can."

But relatively speaking, the entertainnt industry was the fastest way to make money right now. However, it wasn’t his ultimate goal. Lin Xi didn’t like being the center of attention. If he entered showbiz, she, as his girlfriend, would inevitably be thrust into the lilight. How could he bear to let her face all that gossip and speculation?

"Are you that short on money?"

"Desperately."

"To beco your own wellspring?"

Joining the Lin Corporation was a good option, but the earliest he could start would be after graduation, and he was only a freshman. Besides, it wasn’t like he’d earn a lot right away. The company was full of highly educated and experienced people. Even if he excelled, he’d have to work his way up for at least three years. Three years, and then another three—that’s six years total.

Xue Yang knew the importance of ti. He had once spent six years waiting for a single glance from soone, and he was absolutely not going to spend another six years waiting for sothing to happen now.

"Yeah."

Cui Hao had initially thought Xue Yang was just being impulsive, but he realized now that he was serious.

"You’ve got it all planned out?"

"I do."

"Alright! To help you achieve your dream, I’ve decided to be a little impulsive myself and join you."

Xue Yang looked up, surprised to see Cui Hao looking serious for once. Last ti, Cui Hao couldn’t understand why he would give up the offer from the Lin Corporation, but now he wanted to join in.

"What’s with that look? If you can dream of becoming your own wellspring, why can’t I?"

"I’m just reminding you, if we fail, we could end up with nothing."

"If I fail, I’ll just go ho and inherit the family fortune!"

"..."

Okay, he really didn’t need to worry about Cui Hao’s future. Having a family to fall back on was certainly an enviable position to be in.

"Whatever makes you happy."

"I never thought I’d be buddies with a future star," Cui Hao said as he pulled out several photos of Xue Yang and spread them out. "Co on, give a few autographs now. Once you’re famous, your signature will be worth a fortune, and it’ll be impossible for to get one then."

"Nothing’s even started yet," Xue Yang said, but he signed the photos anyway.

Cui Hao gathered the photos like precious treasures. Just then, he noticed the watch on Xue Yang’s wrist. "Hey, that’s a nice watch."

Xue Yang glanced at his watch. "Yeah. She gave it to ."

"What brand is it?"

"I don’t know."

"Let see."

Cui Hao took Xue Yang’s wrist and examined the watch from every angle, trying to figure it out. His current knowledge wasn’t enough to identify it, but he had a nagging feeling that this watch was sothing special. It was like placing a Prince among commoners; even if no one knew his identity, his noble bearing would still make him stand out.

"Xue Yang, have you ever thought about getting it professionally appraised? I just have a feeling it’s incredibly expensive, but I have no proof." Cui Hao didn’t an anything by it; he was just purely curious.

While their families weren’t fabulously rich, they were much better off than average and had been exposed to luxury brands since they were young, so he had a decent understanding. When it ca to custom-made pieces or rare collectibles, however, he was out of his depth. He suspected this watch was one of those.

Xue Yang stroked the watch on his wrist. "No. She gave it to . It’s the thought that counts. Why would it matter if it’s expensive or not? I don’t care about its price; I care about the person who gave it to ."

"Alright, it’s yours. As long as you’re happy."

Cui Hao’s attention quickly shifted back to Xue Yang’s autographs. "I’m gonna post these on my QQ Space right now, heheh."

Xue Yang just shook his head and went back to writing his speech.

The library was crowded. At first, no one dared to disturb Xue Yang, but after seeing him chatting happily with Cui Hao, a few people started to get bolder. They slowly began to gather around, asking to take a picture with him.

"Sorry, I’d rather not take any photos."

"Then could you sign an autograph for ?" a student asked.

"My signature isn’t really worth anything, you know."

"That’s okay! I just want to keep it as a nto. Please?"

Faced with their expectant gaze, Xue Yang finally agreed. Once he signed for the first person, a second and then a third followed.

Xue Yang didn’t sign for all of them. He wasn’t famous yet, and if he acted like a big shot by handing out autographs, he worried that people with ulterior motives might use it against him, which could in turn reflect poorly on TrendStyle.

It was only the beginning, and Xue Yang was already feeling the downside of being a public figure.
