Xue Yang never knew soone could be so terrified of being tickled. Sotis, he only had to lift his hand, and Lin Xi would burst into uncontrollable laughter.
"Xue Yang, stop it, hahaha!"
When Lin Xi wasn’t laughing, she looked like a well-bred lady. When she smiled, she had a particularly charming aura. But at this mont, lying beneath Xue Yang and laughing heartily, her features lit up like blooming fireworks, dazzling and bright. Her comical movents made it seem as if the whole world was lting away before her smile. Her laughter was like a string of silver bells—crisp, lodious, and utterly intoxicating.
Still as a maiden, quick as a startled rabbit—that perfectly described Lin Xi.
In the guest bedroom, Si Wen was in the middle of a ga when she heard Lin Xi’s laughter.
I already told them to keep it down.
Si Wen tried not to listen, but Lin Xi’s laughter was loud, occasionally punctuated with phrases like "no" and "that tickles."
This is torture on the ears.
"Alright, back to the ga," she muttered to herself. "Let’s play until the sky falls."
The consequence of gaming all night was that Si Wen slept until three or four in the afternoon the next day. The first thing she did upon waking was call for food delivery. Then, she got dressed and opened her door.
Xue Yang and Lin Xi were in the living room. One was diligently doing howork, while the other’s fingers flew across a keyboard. The gentle rustle of a pen on paper and the rapid tapping of keys created a heartwarming symphony. Warm sunlight filtered through the window, draping them in what looked like a golden filter and painting a perfect picture of peaceful tis.
It’s said that when two people in love are together, silence is never awkward. Previously, Si Wen would have scoffed at that idea. She wasn’t sure if silence between a couple was awkward, but she was certain it would be depressing.
But now, she thought she understood. It was because they were in love; just having the other person nearby was enough to feel content. How could it possibly be awkward when you could see the person you love just by looking up? It’s a truly blissful thing.
The scene was so beautiful that she didn’t have the heart to disturb it.
Si Wen was about to back out of the room, but Xue Yang looked up just then and saw her. "Si Wen, you’re awake?"
The rustling and typing stopped almost simultaneously, and Lin Xi also turned to look at her. "Si Wen, are you hungry?"
Yep, very much the gracious hosts, Si Wen thought.
"I ordered food delivery. Have you guys eaten yet?"
"We’ve eaten. There’s food for you in the kitchen. You can just heat it up."
"No need, my delivery should be here soon. You two carry on."
Suddenly, Si Wen felt like a third wheel. She realized she no longer needed to worry about Lin Xi. After today, she would return to her normal life. These past few days had felt like a dream.
Not long after she freshened up, there was a knock on the door.
"That must be the food."
Si Wen opened the door, and sure enough, the delivery had arrived. The delivery people seed to pause for a mont, taking in the apartnt, but they quickly recovered and set the food out on the dining table.
"Please enjoy."
Then they left. The entire exchange took less than ten minutes.
By the ti Si Wen finished eating, Lin Xi had also finished her howork and ca out of her room. Si Wen cleared the table and looked at Lin Xi, raising an eyebrow. "Wanna play a ga?"
"Let’s go."
Lin Xi went back to the room, grabbed Xue Yang’s phone, and sat on the couch to log into the ga. Si Wen sat beside her. Although they had played all night, she still wasn’t satisfied. Maybe beating Lin Xi in one ga will make feel better.
However, after one ga, Si Wen’s morale was shattered.
"Your skills have improved dramatically."
"Of course," Lin Xi said proudly.
"Did Xue Yang give you a crash course last night?"
Lin Xi’s face turned slightly red. "Not really. He just showed how to play Daji."
"Tsk, tsk, tsk."
Just then, Xue Yang finished his writing. He ca over and sat down next to Lin Xi. "So, did you win?"
Si Wen clicked her tongue, put away her phone, and turned to Xue Yang. "I’ve already told my friends, and they’ll help promote it on their Weibo. By the way, what’s your ga called?"
Xue Yang explained seriously, "The ga’s ranks are divided into tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Star Shine, Strongest King, Legendary, Glory King, and Hundred Star King. Since its highest rank involves ’King,’ I’ve nad it ’Honor of Kings.’"
"Honor of Kings, that’s a nice na. When will it be released? My friends are all waiting."
"It will be online by the end of this week at the latest."
"Great."
Monday morning arrived with an overcast sky.
At 6:50 a.m., Xue Yang went downstairs early to start the car and warm it up while waiting for the two young ladies. As the engine rumbled to life, the gloomy clouds that had been holding back all night finally gave way, and soft white snowflakes began to drift down from the sky.
At 7:00 a.m., the two girls, dressed in school uniforms and carrying backpacks, ca downstairs. Lin Xi got into the front passenger seat, and Si Wen automatically took a seat in the back.
"And which school are you two beautiful ladies attending?" Xue Yang asked playfully.
"Harlow International School."
Xue Yang was slightly startled. He suddenly rembered their school’s na was written on their uniforms, though he’d never paid attention before. He knew they attended a good school, but he hadn’t expected it to be Harlow International School.
Yancheng Harlow International School—the most expensive school in Yancheng, or rather, the most expensive school in all of Dragon Country.
Half an hour later, the Audi pulled up to Harlow International School, which was already surrounded by luxury cars. Many vibrant and stylish students were already gathered at the school gate. Every one of them looked beautiful and carried an air of extraordinary grace, befitting the most expensive and prestigious private school in Dragon Country.
"Strange, didn’t Si Wen say Lin Xi’s boyfriend would be dropping them off? Why haven’t we seen him yet?"
At the main gate, a group of six girls with backpacks stood waiting expectantly.
"Don’t worry, there’s still half an hour before class starts. He should be here soon."
The earliest among them had arrived before 7:00 a.m., not wanting to miss the chance to see Lin Xi’s boyfriend.
"Look, isn’t that Si Wen?" one of them suddenly exclaid, pointing as Si Wen got out of an Audi.
"It’s her."
"Let’s go!"
Inside the car, Lin Xi was reluctantly bidding Xue Yang farewell.
"Go on. I’ll pick you up after class this evening."
As he was speaking, Xue Yang noticed a circle of people had gathered around the car window, leaving him a bit bewildered.
Lin Xi quickly explained, "They’re my good friends. Si Wen must have told them."
Xue Yang opened the car door and stepped out. He was very tall; in front of the group of seventeen- and eighteen-year-old girls, he seed to tower over them like a mountain.
"So you’re Lin Xi’s boyfriend?"
