"Hey, you’re getting a little out of line, ordering around the second you arrive."
Although he grumbled, Cui Hao still called two guys to go downstairs with him.
As he reached the door, he happened to see Wu Xiaoya standing there, looking around curiously. He glanced behind her and asked, "Whoa, Senior Xiao Ya, what brings you here? Don’t tell you ca with Xue Yang?"
Wu Xiaoya started at the sight of Cui Hao but quickly recovered. "Happy New Year, Junior Cui Hao. I did co with Junior Xue Yang."
Her gaze then shifted to the two young n behind him. They had already spotted her, and they looked away with a hint of embarrassnt when their eyes t. "Happy New Year, Xiao Ya," they said in unison.
Wu Xiaoya’s eyes widened. "Shi Zichen? Feng Jiajun? What are you two doing here?"
"We work here," they replied.
Wu Xiaoya’s mouth gaped in surprise. "You’re working here?"
These two were from her year, both third-year computer science students with excellent grades. They should have been snapped up by major corporations by now, but it seed they’d had their own plans and hadn’t followed the conventional path. She had assud they’d found better options, not that they’d ended up working in Xue Yang’s studio.
So, they’re working for a freshman? How do you even describe that? It feels like using a sledgehamr to crack a nut.
"Senior, we’re heading downstairs to grab sothing," Cui Hao said. "Go on in and find a seat."
"Alright."
Wu Xiaoya stepped into the office. She noticed a distinct corporate atmosphere from the doorway, which grew even stronger once she was inside.
So this is what an office is like, huh? This will probably be my environnt when I start working. But then again, I might not even find a place this nice. The value of a college degree isn’t what it was a few years ago. It feels like it’s depreciating more and more as ti goes on.
Having failed to secure an offer from Lin Corporation, Wu Xiaoya felt a bit lost about her future.
"Senior Xiao Ya, please have a seat. I have sothing to take care of," Xue Yang’s voice called from within. "Xiao Jiang, please look after Senior Xiao Ya for ."
"Okay, President Xue."
After that, a young man stood up from his desk. He had been sitting behind a desk partition, and Wu Xiaoya hadn’t noticed him before.
"Happy New Year, Senior Xiao Ya. Co, have a seat over here."
For convenience, the studio was divided into three parts: the office area, a eting room, and a reception room. The reception room was much smaller than the other two spaces, but at thirty square ters, it was the perfect size for entertaining guests or for the staff to take a break.
Wu Xiaoya’s mouth had been hanging open ever since she’d walked in, but when she entered the reception room, her jaw nearly hit the floor. She had assud it would be a standard reception room, but the place looked like it was just missing a mahjong table and a few players.
Can soone please tell if this place, with snacks scattered all over the table, is really a studio’s reception room?
"Please don’t mind the ss, Senior Xiao Ya. We just got back from the New Year holiday, so everyone brought a lot of snacks from ho to share. It ended up looking like this. We’re not normally this ssy."
Liu Xiaojiang was one of the locals who had joined before the New Year. He felt a stronger sense of belonging to the studio than the others who had just arrived, so he was now desperately trying to maintain the company’s image in front of her.
"Our Chief is also a very easy-going person. He never loses his temper or chews people out over little things like this."
"Xiao Jiang, why do you all call Xue Yang ’Chief’?"
Everyone here is clearly older than him. Calling him ’Boss’ would make more sense, right? What a strange group.
"It’s just a title. Inside the studio, we call him Chief, and outside, we call him Boss. The Chief has never said anything about it. We all respect him from the bottom of our hearts, so we don’t really care about superficial titles."
Hearing Liu Xiaojiang’s explanation, Wu Xiaoya felt abashed. Looks like I’m the one who’s out of touch.
But such a work environnt was truly enviable.
"So, Senior Xiao Ya, do you like our work environnt?"
Xue Yang was leaning against the doorfra, arms crossed and a faint smile on his face. He was backlit by the light from the doorway, and the mature, dark clothes he wore made him cut a striking figure. Wu Xiaoya was startled and quickly averted her gaze. "I do. Working in an environnt like this must be wonderful."
"If you like it, are you interested in working for us? We happen to be looking for a well-rounded talent, and I think you’d be a perfect fit, Senior."
At that mont, it dawned on Wu Xiaoya. "So you’ve been eyeing from the start! That’s why you agreed to bring to your studio."
The words were out before she could stop them, and Wu Xiaoya almost bit her tongue. ’Eyeing ’? What am I even saying? This is so embarrassing to say in front of my junior.
She stole a glance at Xue Yang, but he didn’t seem to have taken it that way. Wu Xiaoya breathed a sigh of relief.
"Aren’t you starting your internship next sester, Senior? It would be perfect. You can train with us for half a year, and then you’ll have work experience when you start your official internship."
"But the whole point of my internship is to get work experience. If I already have it from working here, why would I need to get it sowhere else?"
"Bingo! Your comprehension is excellent, Senior," Xue Yang said, walking into the reception room. He pushed aside so of the snacks on the table, clearing two spaces, and had Wu Xiaoya sit down.
Wu Xiaoya’s lips twitched. "Xue Yang, don’t praise like that. It makes us seem so childish."
A junior is complinting his senior, and the senior is actually enjoying it. If that isn’t childish, what is?
"Chief, have so tea. Senior Xiao Ya, you too."
Liu Xiaojiang finished brewing the tea and poured a cup for both Xue Yang and Wu Xiaoya before excusing himself.
The mont he stepped out, the others sward him.
"What’s going on? Why’d the Chief suddenly bring a girl to the studio? Don’t tell she’s his girlfriend!"
"Yeah, Xiao Jiang, spill the beans!"
"My curiosity is killing , just tell us!"
Liu Xiaojiang coughed lightly, his expression profound, as if confirming their suspicions.
Everyone was on tenterhooks, waiting for him to confirm it. If Xiao Ya was really the Chief’s girlfriend, they would have to be more respectful to her from now on.
"Maybe the Boss realized we don’t have any won in our company and tricked her into coming to work here."
The male-to-female ratio in the studio was definitely out of whack.
"We don’t have any won in the studio?"
Suddenly, a voice ca from right behind them. A chill went down everyone’s spines.
