After a brief silence, the classroom started to buzz.
"Quick, look! Xue Yang’s here."
"It really is him. I thought he was skipping class today."
"Is it just , or did Xue Yang get even more handso over the New Year?"
"He was already gorgeous, and now he’s even more so. How is anyone else supposed to compete?"
Xue Yang found Cui Hao’s seat and plopped down. "Lao Cui, what’s going on? Why is everyone talking about possibly not showing up to class today?"
Cui Hao was just as puzzled. "No idea. I just got here myself."
Xue Yang rolled his eyes at him. "You’re a Weibo master. How could you not sniff out this little piece of news?"
"Bro, I literally just got here. I sat down a second before you did."
"Got it. You’re a ’one-second’..." Xue Yang trailed off, stopping himself just in ti.
Hearing this, Cui Hao’s eyes widened. "Damn it, Xue Yang! You son of a..."
"Teacher Gong is here," soone announced.
Cui Hao’s curse got stuck in his throat. Master Miejue’s timing is impeccable. It’s like she was sent from on high just to bail Xue Yang out, isn’t it?
The classroom imdiately fell deathly silent.
It was the first class after the New Year holiday, and no one was particularly enthusiastic. Gong Lee didn’t waste words, either. She gave a simple outline of the new sester’s agenda and then let everyone have a study period.
「After class let out at noon.」
A light rain was still drizzling, nourishing the earth and awakening life from its slumber.
Xue Yang and Cui Hao were having lunch in the school cafeteria, watching the world outside co back to life.
"I found out why everyone was talking," Cui Hao said.

"They knew you opened a studio off-campus, so they assud you’d be too busy for class. They were shocked when you not only showed up but did so in such a flamboyant way."
That’s it? I thought sothing major had happened without knowing. But this also serves as a reflection of how idle contemporary college students are. Excruciatingly idle. This makes organizing the King’s Ga competition all the more urgent.
"That’s really all it was," Cui Hao continued. "Everyone is just bored out of their minds, so they spend all day staring at you."
"Since you’re so bored, you should get that ga tournant organized."
"Who said I’m bored?"
"You’re bored in every sense of the word."
"I only went to find out because you asked to! Xue Yang, you’re getting more and more shaless."
"Do you want to pay back that million you owe your dad or not?"
"...You’re ruthless."

His phone rang. It was Yang Yunfeng. "President Xue, a professor from Yanbei University wants to et with you to discuss a project."
Xue Yang was taken aback for a mont. "A professor from Yanbei University wants to talk to about a project?"
Yang Yunfeng’s voice sounded a little sheepish. "President Xue, to be precise, they asked to et with our company’s Executive Director."
"When is the eting scheduled?"
"This afternoon at our company office."
Xue Yang glanced at his class schedule. He had no classes that afternoon. Thank goodness. From middle school to high school, Xue Yang had hardly ever missed a class. He only really started skipping after entering university, and it always left him feeling out of sorts. The after-effects are just too severe.
"Got it. I’ll head over to the company later."
After hanging up, Xue Yang finished the last bite of his food.

Xue Yang looked up to see three girls he didn’t recognize sitting down across from him, acting as if they were old friends.
All three had long hair. From left to right, there was one with straight black hair, another with large wavy curls, and a third with a high ponytail. The one in the middle with the wavy curls was the prettiest—the very image of rosy lips and white teeth. While her friends weren’t as striking, they were by no ans plain.
However, for soone who has seen a campus belle like Chen Ying and a celestial beauty like Lin Xi, these girls are rely passable.
Xue Yang searched his mory for any information on the three of them, but he ca up completely blank.
"Xue Yang, don’t tell you still don’t recognize us?" the girl with the wavy curls asked.
"I really don’t."
"Well, it’s understandable," she said. "When school first started, you were always chasing after Senior Sister Chen. We never saw you in the classroom except during lectures. Then you joined Lin Corporation’s project, got involved with the student council, and even opened your own studio."
Listening to her, Xue Yang realized just how much he’d done last sester. Hmm, they missed one thing. I also managed to get into a relationship.
"My na is Cai Keke, this is Cen Xue, and that’s Duan Yuehong. We’re all from the ’14 Finance class. That’s right, we’re your classmates. Recognize us now?"

The boy at the next table shot to his feet. "Cen Xue, I didn’t say anything! Why are you getting so worked up?"
"Aren’t you just trying to point out that you asked Keke out many tis and she always refused, but now she’s the one asking Xue Yang out?"
The ntion of this clearly irritated Guo Dekun. "Well, isn’t that true? Keke, I just don’t get it. Why won’t you let treat you to a al, but you’re willing to ask another guy?"
Cai Keke’s brow furrowed in disdain. "Guo Dekun, who I eat with is none of your business! I’ve told you many tis, I don’t like you. Can you please stop bothering ?"
Xue Yang rested his chin on his hand. This drama feels vaguely familiar, though I was never as bold as Guo Dekun to start a public confrontation. Utterly boring.
He stood up, drawing the gazes of those nearby. "Sorry, I have sothing to do, so I’m going to head out."
With that, he strode away.
"Hey, Xue Yang, wait!" Cai Keke called out, trying to get up.
But Guo Dekun grabbed her wrist. "Keke, you haven’t answered my question."
Cai Keke violently shook his hand off. "Guo Dekun, are you incapable of understanding human speech? I said I don’t like you! I don’t like you!"
With that, she scrambled away, trying to catch up to Xue Yang.
"Keke!" Duan Yuehong and Cen Xue called out, hurrying after her.
