Feng Jiajun suddenly perked up. "Who did you see?"
Honestly, it’s rare to see a genius like Zhang Caide so deflated. But it was precisely because he was so talented that he was inevitably a bit arrogant. In school, others might think you have real skills if you’re arrogant, but once you enter the workforce, you realize you’re nothing.
There’s always soone better out there, a higher mountain to climb. You never know who you’ll et next, soone so outstanding they could shatter all your confidence in an instant.
This was a lesson Feng Jiajun had learned since starting work at Tiani Studio. The feeling had intensified recently after they hired a new batch of people. If he once thought his computer skills were top-notch, he now felt he couldn’t even compare to the new hires. The sense of disparity was overwhelming.
So, he completely understood how Zhang Caide was feeling.
"I saw Xue Yang," Zhang Caide said.
Feng Jiajun’s expression was one of understanding. "What about seeing Xue Yang?"
No wonder he’s so crushed, he thought. He ran into his old love rival.
"Do you know? The very first case I took with my ntor was his. Can you believe it? He’s just a freshman, yet he’s the executive director of a big company like Trendy Apparel Company. How on earth did he do it?"
Feng Jiajun shook his head. "I don’t know either."
He also wanted to know how Xue Yang had managed it.
"I feel like all my hard work is a joke," Zhang Caide lanted. If he had encountered Xue Yang after graduation, the blow might not have been so severe. But it had to happen while he was still a freshman, during the very first case he handled with his ntor. How could I not overthink this?
Feng Jiajun sighed inwardly. He understood Zhang Caide’s feelings completely. If it had been anyone else, Zhang Caide probably wouldn’t feel this way. He’d likely just be impressed, thinking, "What a remarkable young talent."
But it just had to be Xue Yang. Of all people, it had to be him.
Feng Jiajun mulled it over. Maybe it’s ti to tell him. It’s better to get the shock over with all at once than to let him suffer death by a thousand cuts. That would be the real torture.
Having made up his mind, he patted Zhang Caide’s shoulder. "Caide, what if I told you..." He paused, then dropped an even more dreadful truth. "I’m working at Xue Yang’s studio now."
As expected, Zhang Caide’s eyes widened in shock. "What did you say?"
"I said, I’m working at Xue Yang’s studio now. Kexin asked to join."
"Kexin? You an Yu Kexin, the genius from the computer science departnt?" Yu Kexin was famous at Yanbei University. Everyone there, regardless of their major, knew of her. Between her and Xue Yang, you could say one was the technical wizard, and the other was the visual draw.
"The one and only," Feng Jiajun confird.
Zhang Caide was dumbfounded. "Aren’t you guys computer science majors? How did you end up working for Xue Yang’s company? He’s in the fashion industry."
I’ve heard of people ending up in fields unrelated to their major, but I’ve never heard of it happening before they even graduate. Talk about a lack of ambition.
"Caide, I’m not talking about the apparel company. That’s just sothing he’s managing temporarily for a friend. I’m talking about his own studio, the one that develops gas. You know that ga everyone’s playing now, King’s Ga? That ca from our studio."
Those few sentences were enough to plunge Zhang Caide back into a severe crisis of self-doubt. He knew of King’s Ga; he had even played it himself to kill ti over the New Year holiday. But he never in a million years imagined it was developed by Xue Yang’s studio.
Feng Jiajun continued, "Xue Yang’s work at Trendy Apparel Company is just a part-ti gig. His main business is the studio."
"You’re saying his role as Executive Director at Trendy Apparel Company is just part-ti?" Zhang Caide asked in disbelief.
Feng Jiajun nodded. "That’s the right way to look at it."

A part-ti Executive Director is already shocking enough, but he also runs a ga studio on the side? Is this guy even human? Zhang Caide felt as if he’d just taken ten thousand points of critical damage.
Seeing Zhang Caide’s state, Feng Jiajun offered a consoling look. "Hey, don’t feel so bad. At least you won over the goddess he could never get. It might have been for a short ti, but you were the first boyfriend she ever publicly announced. Even Xue Yang can’t claim that."
Feng Jiajun’s attempt at consolation only made Zhang Caide feel more dejected. What kind of boyfriend was I? I was just a tool she used to make Xue Yang jealous.

Xiang Qing was baffled. "Why not? President Xue, aren’t you going to praise ?"
"I just did."
"But it feels like you’re about to reprimand ."
"Amazing you could tell," Xue Yang said dryly. "The best materials... have you thought about the cost? Our ’street stall’ event is only going to run for a few days. Did you consider whether it was really necessary to use the best of everything?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Xue Yang felt himself turning into a true capitalist. Soone follows your instructions so eagerly, and you’re still not satisfied.
Xiang Qing’s eyes sparkled. He claims he has no connection to the big boss, yet his brows furrowed so tightly they could crush a fly the mont I ntioned using the best materials. There’s hope! My sixth sense was right. I’ve decided: I need to find more ways to talk to President Xue. Maybe if he’s in a good mood, he’ll let the truth slip. I’ll just keep it to myself, of course. The thought of having exclusive gossip about the big boss made her completely forget that Xue Yang had just been criticizing her.
"Co with ," Xue Yang said, heading deeper into the campus.
Xiang Qing clutched the manuscripts and scurried after him. So this is Yanbei University. What a prestigious school. This is my second ti here, but on my first visit, I was so focused on delivering docunts to President Xue that I didn’t get a good look around. I have to take it all in this ti.
"Are you planning on coming to class with ?" Xue Yang asked.
"Huh? No! Didn’t you tell to follow you, President Xue?"
