In what seed like no ti, the first day of university arrived. It was September 2nd.
The weather was fine and sunny, with not a single cloud in the sky. After twelve years of hard work, these students had finally been admitted to the most prestigious institution of learning in the Dragon Country. Each one of them, brimming with expectations and dreams for the future, arrived at Yanbei University in a state of excitent.
Originally, Xue Yang, as the student council president, was supposed to be present to welco the freshn. But he was too busy and simply had no ti to co. He had no choice but to explain the situation to Teacher Gong in advance, asking Wei Shuyu to act as president in his stead to welco the new students. Gong Li agreed. After all, the university just wanted the job done well. Since he was capable of arranging things, they naturally had no objections.
As they were finishing their conversation, Xue Yang suddenly said to Gong Li, "Teacher Gong, I want to step down from the position of student council president."
Gong Li was taken aback, though she had anticipated this day would co. Xue Yang was simply too busy—so busy he didn’t even have ti for classes, let alone managing the student council. She was grateful whenever he could spare a mont to co to school at all.
As a teacher, you can’t be too greedy, can you?
After thinking for a mont, Gong Li said, "Generally speaking, the student council president serves a two-year term. You’ve only served for one, so technically, you still have another year. If we replace you now, we’ll just have to find another replacent in a year. I suggest you finish out your term as president. After that, the new president can take over your position directly. In the anti, you can arrange your ti however you need."
Although Gong Li wasn’t aware of the full extent of Xue Yang’s accomplishnts, she had a general idea. She never imagined that in a single sumr, Xue Yang had opened a large new energy vehicle marketplace in his hotown. Although it was a burgeoning industry, few people dared to venture into it. The slightest misstep could lead to a total loss, and the initial investnt in new energy was undoubtedly massive. Having money isn’t the real skill; the true talent is being able to hold onto it and make it grow. For such a capable student council president, the university naturally hoped he could serve as an inspiration to more students.
Hearing Gong Li’s words, Xue Yang no longer insisted.
Fortunately, he still had Wei Shuyu to rely on. Although she wasn’t the president, she could exercise the president’s authority, and she seed quite happy to do so.
Just like at this very mont, she was at the university’s registration desk, speaking seriously to a bright, handso first-year. "Junior, it seems there’s a problem with your enrollnt information. How about this, add on WeChat first, and I’ll send you the details later."
Wei Shuyu smiled at the handso first-year before her, extending her wicked claws... ah, her phone’s QR code.
These first-years have just started university, still innocent from high school. I need to make my move while they’re still fresh. If I wait any longer, they’ll either be snatched up by soone else or beco too experienced. As for the rest... the ones nobody else wants, I certainly don’t want either.
The first-year believed her, taking out his phone to scan Wei Shuyu’s WeChat QR code. "Senior Sister, I’ve added you. Please accept my request."
"Okay, okay. You can head inside. I’ll send it to you when I have a mont."
The young first-year pulled his luggage into the school, feeling confused. I checked my enrollnt information countless tis before coming. How could there be a mistake? Oh, well. Registration is done, anyway. I should go handle my housing first.
Wei Shuyu was gleeful, having successfully gotten a handso first-year’s WeChat. Her smile stretched from ear to ear.
Oh, I absolutely love this job as acting student council president! It might be tough and tiring, but the rewards are plentiful. What could be more fun than having a friends list full of handso guys?
"Tsk."
Just as she was enjoying her success, a dissonant sound ca from nearby. Wei Shuyu turned to see Xia Tian approaching her, a look of disdain on his face.
That Xia Tian guy certainly had talent, but he thought far too highly of himself. He always believed he could make a unique mark using only his own abilities. While the sentint was admirable, a person needs to learn to adapt. Relying only on yourself ans taking the long way around. If you can straighten that winding road, that’s one thing. But if not, by the ti you finally reach the finish line, everyone else will have already carved up the cake. Surely no one would want to strive for years only to end up with leftovers.
When Wei Shuyu saw him approaching, her smile vanished, and she pointedly ignored him.
Ever since Xia Tian quit his job at the trendy clothing store because of sothing soone said, his attitude has undergone a huge change. At his worst, he would ridicule anyone he saw wearing the store’s work uniform, even though he was the one who had chosen to leave. What’s more, President Xue had specifically asked him to confirm his decision before he quit. He had failed to grasp his own opportunity, yet he acted as if everyone else owed him sothing. I initially had a good impression of him. I even thought it might be nice if sothing developed between us, but he just had to cause trouble all the ti. It got so bad that I beca reluctant to talk to other guys. That’s why I’ve decided to get to know so of the first-years. If sothing develops, great. If not, I don’t really care. The most important thing in life is to be happy, after all.
"Wei Shuyu, what do you think you’re doing?"
At this, Wei Shuyu blinked and asked with an air of puzzlent, "I’m registering the first-years. What else would I be doing? I’m not idle like you."
Xia Tian imdiately bristled as if she had stepped on his tail. "Wei Shuyu, what do you get out of mocking ?"
"I do get sothing out of it, actually. Seeing you so worked up makes quite happy."
In the past, Wei Shuyu wouldn’t have bothered engaging with him. But who knew what got into the guy; he was constantly looking for trouble, so she had started snapping right back at him without reservation. That had actually kept him quiet for a while. She didn’t expect him to start up again now that the new sester had begun.
"As a senior and the acting student council president, you’re abusing your position to collect first-year guys’ WeChat info instead of doing your job. Believe , I’m telling the teachers."
Wei Shuyu rolled her eyes. "Go on then, tattle-tale."
Xia Tian was so angry he was left speechless, unsure how to retort.
"It’s like you’ve never seen a man before, throwing yourself at every single one you see. You’re a disgrace to us sophomores."
"Oh, you’re so high and mighty, so impressive. I’ll tell you what, if you can see a pretty first-year and not fawn all over her like a desperate fool, then I’ll respect you as a man. If you can’t, then get the hell out of my sight and stop wasting my ti."
Wei Shuyu’s blunt dismissal made Xia Tian’s face turn from red to white, and then from white to a sickly green.
