Song Fan couldn’t figure out why, out of all the nearby milk tea shops, they had to order from hers. It wasn’t just expensive; it was also far away.
It wasn’t just Song Fan; Xue Yang couldn’t understand it at first either. They must be loaded, he figured. After all, few students from Yanbei School were truly strapped for cash.
"Boss, what would you like to drink?" Busy as she was, Song Fan still rembered to attend to her boss.
"You can finish up first. We’re not in a rush." Xue Yang led Cui Hao and Ming Yue to a table and sat down.
"Alright, Boss." Song Fan’s hands never stopped moving. Fortunately, she prepared enough ingredients for at least a few dozen cups every day. Otherwise, she really wouldn’t have known how to handle such a sudden large order.
"Godfather, when did you buy this milk tea shop?" Cui Hao asked the mont he sat down.
Xue Yang replied, "The other day."
Cui Hao was speechless. How is that any different from saying nothing at all?
"It’s another gift for your girlfriend, isn’t it?" Ming Yue hit the nail on the head.
Only then did it click for Cui Hao. What other reason could there be for buying a milk tea shop, if not to give it to Lin Xi? He was at a loss for words and gave Xue Yang a thumbs-up. "Godfather, you’re a legend." First a supermarket, and now a milk tea shop. Their way of dating is certainly unconventional.
The three of them had co to drink milk tea, but now they were just watching soone make it.
Xue Yang wasn’t in a hurry. He sat at the computer by the front counter and checked the shop’s recent orders. The result didn’t disappoint him: the shop was operating at a loss. A substantial one, at that. The average person couldn’t possibly afford to lose this much money. I have to figure sothing out, Xue Yang mulled.
"Boss, the milk tea is ready," Song Fan announced. "I used the leftover ingredients to make three extra cups. You can drink these first; I’m going to go make the delivery now."
She placed three cups of milk tea in front of Xue Yang and his friends, then turned to look at the table covered in orders and let out a deep sigh. How am I going to deliver all of this?
"How are you going to deliver all that by yourself?" Xue Yang asked.
"I’ll have to make multiple trips," she replied.
Song Fan would never dare ask Xue Yang to help her. He’s the boss! If I order him around, am I trying to get fired?
"I’ll help you with the delivery."
Hearing Xue Yang’s words, Song Fan’s face lit up. "Thank you, Boss!" He offered himself. This doesn’t count as ordering him around.
Seeing this, Cui Hao chid in, "I’ll help too! I’ll help too!"
With Cui Hao already helping out, Ming Yue felt it would be odd to just sit there by herself. She stood up and said, "Since I’m already here, I might as well help too."
"I’ll go get the car. We can load the milk tea into it," Xue Yang said. He went to pull his car over, and working together, the four of them loaded all the milk tea into the trunk and the back seat. Just like that, an order that would have taken Song Fan several trips to deliver could now be done in one go.
"It looks like there’s no more room for passengers. Boss, I’ll just take my electric scooter," Song Fan said.
Cui Hao glanced at the car and said, "There’s still one seat left. Ming Yue, you can take it. It’s not far, so I’ll just walk."
"There’s no need to walk," Song Fan said. "My scooter can fit one more person."
And so, the four of them set off for Yanbei School. Xue Yang drove with Ming Yue and all the milk tea, while Song Fan gave Cui Hao a ride on her scooter.
As they neared the school entrance, Song Fan called Xia Tian. "Hello, where should I deliver the milk tea?"
"Are they all ready?"
"Yes."
"Co to the athletic field near the gym. I’ll be waiting at the gym entrance."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Song Fan called Xue Yang. "Boss, he said he’s at the gym."
