For a man she’d never t to say he was willing to help her just because he liked her—it was an insult to her intelligence.
The mont he gave that reason, Annabelle knew he had ulterior motives.
A glint flashed in Chase Lynch’s eyes as he looked at Annabelle with admiration. "Annabelle Linton, you truly are different from other won."

"I did approach you with an agenda," Chase Lynch said, his gaze sincere, "but it has nothing to do with you. And I won’t hurt you. I just want to work with you. If you’re not willing, we can forget it. But I will help you secure the acquisition of the Linton Group tomorrow. I’m being sincere."
Annabelle looked at him in surprise but quickly returned to her indifferent expression.
’Her main goal was to secure the Linton Group’s acquisition, wasn’t it?’
’One more person helping her was one more bargaining chip. There could be no mistakes with the Linton Group acquisition.’
’Since he was offering to help, she might as well accept. It wasn’t as if she had anything to lose.’
Annabelle was aloof, but she wasn’t too proud to accept help.
Annabelle turned away coolly, a faint smile on her lips. "Then I’ll await the good news."

The banquet began at six o’clock the next evening.
Ryan Linton’s birthday banquet was held at the most prestigious hotel in Lynton.
William Chapman had booked the entire hotel to celebrate.
This was probably Ryan’s most lavish birthday in over a decade, and it was happening just as the Linton Family was facing an acquisition.
How ironic.
The hotel’s exterior was magnificent. A massive fountain with a rhinestone base stood at the entrance. In its center was the statue of a small angel, its chubby, baby-like face looking sincere and adorable.
A red carpet, over ten ters long, was rolled out in front of the hotel. A stream of luxury cars pulled up to the entrance, where attendants in blue uniforms and white gloves opened the doors. The distinguished guests were then escorted into the banquet hall.
In truth, everyone who ca today was there to see a show.
News that the Linton Group was being acquired had been leaked days ago.
William Chapman wasn’t afraid of Annabelle finding out. He was only afraid she would cause a scene.
But he was convinced that, with Annabelle’s ek personality, she wouldn’t believe the rumors and was incapable of stirring up any trouble.
He had lied to Annabelle that day simply because he didn’t want to drop all pretenses just yet.
Annabelle was wearing a wine-red evening gown.
The elegant gown accentuated her perfect figure. Annabelle leaned on the vanity, her hands braced against its surface, and stared expressionlessly at her reflection.
She was beautiful tonight.
Her long, wavy black hair cascaded over her shoulders, accentuating her delicate, fair face. With red lips and captivating eyes, she looked like a pixie in the dead of night.
Seductive, sexy, sharp, and pure.
She radiated an aura that commanded respect.
A self-deprecating smile touched Annabelle’s lips.
’Annabelle, how pathetic your life is. Even your own father is plotting against you.’
’Thankfully, after tonight, she could say goodbye to her bleak past and her previous lifeti and finally begin anew.’
The smile on Annabelle’s lips widened as she made her way toward the banquet hall.
