"I’ve known sothing was off with you for a long ti! I kept telling myself I should trust you, so I didn’t make a scene, but you were actually cheating on this whole ti!
Did you think I was so kind of pushover these past few years? That you could just ss around behind my back?!
Get out! Get the hell away from ! As of today, we’re through! Security! Security!"
William Chapman showed no rcy, calling for security directly.
"Dad! Dad, don’t divorce Mom! She’s not that kind of person! Just listen to her explanation, Dad!" Joy Chapman panicked, clinging to Yvonne Miller as she cried and pleaded.
"Yes, honey! For our daughter’s sake, you have to give a chance! I didn’t do it! I really didn’t!" Yvonne Miller cried out as well.
"Daughter?" William Chapman sneered. "Who knows if she’s even mine? You’re such a filthy bitch, how could any daughter you bore be clean? Get out! Both of you, get out!"
Yvonne Miller was utterly devastated. "William Chapman, you can disbelieve , but you can’t disbelieve Joy! She really is your child!"
"Security!" William Chapman, showing not a shred of sentint, called for them again.
"William Chapman! William Chapman!"
"Dad!"
William Chapman ignored them completely, allowing the security guards to roughly shove Yvonne Miller and her daughter, Joy Chapman, out the door.
William Chapman walked over to Annabelle Linton, his expression changing completely as if he’d put on a different face. "Annabelle, thank you. If it weren’t for you, I would have never known that bitch’s true colors.
You did all this tonight just so Dad would see her for who she really is, didn’t you?
You did so well. Dad knew you still cared about him. I’ll divorce her, so please don’t cut ties with , okay?"
Annabelle Linton gave him a derisive look, the open contempt in her eyes making William Chapman feel a little unnerved.
"Annabelle, Dad would give up anything for you. You have to believe !"
"Give up anything?" Annabelle Linton’s cool, detached gaze rested on him. Her eyes were placid, her thoughts unreadable.
"Yes!" William Chapman nodded vigorously.
’What else did he have to lose?’
’A man with nothing has nothing to fear. What was he afraid of?’
"Alright."
Annabelle Linton shot him a sideways glance, a cold laugh bubbling in her throat. "Then make a choice: don’t cut ties and get nothing, or cut ties and I’ll give you a hundred million.
Ti to test that selfless fatherly love of yours. I’ll give you ten seconds to think about it, then give your answer."
’A hundred million...’
’In his current situation, even a million would be a blessing.’
’He’d been too naive, thinking the acquisition would go off without a hitch, so he hadn’t transferred any of his assets.’
’But he never expected sothing like this to happen!’
Hesitation flickered across William Chapman’s face.
’But what did hesitation an?’
’It ant making a liar out of himself after he’d just said he would "give up anything."’
’And what did *not* hesitating an?’
’It ant he might not get a single cent.’
For a mont, William Chapman was paralyzed by indecision.
A clear flash of disdain and contempt crossed Annabelle Linton’s eyes. She coldly averted her gaze. "Your decision."
In that single second, William Chapman understood.
"Annabelle Linton, you are my own flesh and blood! Is this relationship sothing you can just erase because you say so?! Aren’t you afraid of the whole world laughing at you?!"
"You weren’t afraid of the world laughing when you cheated and got a mistress. What do I have to be afraid of?"
Annabelle Linton watched him coolly, the corners of her mouth lifting into a strange smile.
Slowly, she approached him and whispered a few words in his ear. William Chapman’s face changed instantly.
