Annabelle Linton lowered her gaze, the corners of her lips curling into a faint, warm smile.
Under the lights, scenes from the past replayed in her mind: she and Aaron Wyatt arranging the furniture in the apartnt, cooking together, and poring over recipes.
Going to and from school, traveling, shopping, working part-ti jobs, eating, laughing... so many monts they had shared seed to flash before her eyes.
When she was sick, he was there to take care of her. When she worked late at her part-ti job, he would co to pick her up.
When the cafeteria closed and she was starving, he would appear before her.
He was with her through every holiday. For every birthday, he would spend nearly all his savings to give her the simplest, yet most heartfelt, celebration.

’If I could relive my life, starting from my college days with Aaron,’ Annabelle thought, ’I might have forgotten all about Leona Grant. I probably would have pursued him, and we would have ended up together.’

"Hurry and eat, Annabelle, or it’ll get cold." Aaron Wyatt handed her a pair of chopsticks, urging her on.
Annabelle Linton smiled and said lightly, "Have you eaten? Eat with ."
"I’ve already eaten. I’ll watch you. Go on, eat," Aaron said.
Annabelle Linton took a bite of rice and raised an eyebrow. "Then eat with anyway."
Aaron Wyatt smiled helplessly and served himself a small bowl of rice.
Annabelle Linton ate silently, and so did Aaron Wyatt.
Though Aaron Wyatt was an orphan, his adoptive parents were wealthy Chinese expatriates living in Albion, so he had been taught excellent etiquette.
As a socialite, Annabelle Linton had also received an excellent upbringing.
Though both were people who typically ate in silence, they always found sothing to say when they were together.
Aaron Wyatt looked up at her. Her gentle eyes were filled with indifference and calm.
’Since coming back this ti,’ he thought, ’Annabelle has changed so much.’
’But it’s undeniable that she has beco more captivating.’
As Aaron Wyatt was watching her, he suddenly glimpsed a tall figure at the door, and a dark glint flashed in his eyes.
"Annabelle, I’ve been looking at places around here recently. There’s an apartnt 400 ters from the hospital—three bedrooms, a living room, and a dining room. The neighborhood is great. I was wondering if you had ti to go see it with ?
If you like it, we could rent two apartnts, right across the hall from each other. That way, we could be together every day."
Hearing this, Annabelle Linton’s hand, holding her chopsticks, paused for a mont before she resud eating as if nothing had happened. "Isn’t the apartnt you have now perfectly fine?
The public transit, the building security, and the short distance to your office are all perfect. If you moved over here, your commute would double. Wouldn’t that be a huge hassle?"
"How could it be a hassle?" Aaron Wyatt put down his chopsticks and said seriously, "I don’t mind the trouble. Living over there is convenient, but I only get to see you at night.
And we can only have dinner together. I want to have breakfast with you every day and then take you to the hospital.
If possible, I’d like to have lunch with you too. Then every evening, we could make dinner together, just like before, sharing our daily lives."
