For the past two months, he had forced himself not to think about her, not to pay her any attention.
He only knew that she had been injured and that Aaron Wyatt had taken her to a resort to recover. He knew nothing else.
’Now that I’m back in the country, living in the sa city, will we et again?’
He wondered what it would be like when they saw each other again...
He looked forward to seeing her, but at the sa ti, he could already imagine Annabelle Linton’s reaction.
Leona Grant let out a mirthless chuckle and turned to look at the drifting clouds outside the window, a flicker of pain crossing his eyes.

’Since I promised her freedom, it’s better if we don’t see each other.’

Annabelle Linton was resting at ho.
After two months of recuperation, her injury had mostly healed.
But she still couldn’t do any strenuous exercise, so she couldn’t go to the martial arts gym. Aaron Wyatt also wouldn’t let her run around, so she could only stay at ho.
Thinking of Aaron Wyatt, a wave of warmth spread through Annabelle Linton’s heart.
He was truly good to her, and he had been even better since they started dating.
He knew her feelings for him weren’t very deep, so he suggested they didn’t have to live together. Instead, he lived in the apartnt across the hall, allowing them to take things one step at a ti.
He gave her personal space, respected her thoughts, and gave her freedom. As long as it didn’t interfere with her recovery, he respected and accommodated her in nearly everything.
This made Annabelle Linton feel a sense of equality between them.
It wasn’t like being with Leona Grant, who never considered her feelings and just did whatever he wanted. He didn’t respect her at all, and it felt suffocating.

Annabelle Linton flipped through a cookbook, planning tonight’s dinner.
Aaron Wyatt had gone to work and would be getting off in about three hours.
She wanted to cook him dinner with her own hands.
Just as she was planning the al, the phone suddenly rang.
Annabelle Linton answered. It was Grandpa.
His old but kind voice ca through the receiver. "Annabelle, have you been well lately?"
Hearing her grandfather’s voice, Annabelle Linton froze.
She hadn’t seen him or anyone else from the Grant Family since her divorce from Leona Grant.
Part of it was that she didn’t have the opportunity, but the other part was that she was intentionally avoiding them.
Before, she had thought that even if she made a clean break with Leona Grant, she would still keep in touch with the Grant Family.
But after the divorce, it felt impossible.
Her relationship with Leona Grant was over, so her connection with the others naturally faded. They were his family, after all.
’People’s minds are always changing.’
Annabelle Linton gave a faint smile and said in a gentle, warm voice, "I’m fine. What about you, Grandpa? How have you been?"

Annabelle Linton suddenly felt a pang of guilt.
Grandpa was so old, yet he was still worrying himself sick over their affairs.
She had heard that he fell gravely ill after learning about her divorce from Leona Grant. He had probably only been discharged from the hospital about a week ago.
