"We’re divorced!" Annabelle Linton said, her expression cold. She frowned, stressing the point with dead seriousness.

’And it wasn’t easy to get, either!’

"Mhm, I know." Leona Grant gently wrapped his arms around her waist and took hold of her arm. "That’s why I hope you’ll give another chance. I hope you’ll give Evan a complete family. Honey, I love you so much, and our son loves you too. Won’t you co back?"

Annabelle Linton grew impatient. She irritably tried to wrench her arm free, but couldn’t. "What the hell is wrong with you?" she snapped. "Where did this ’son’ co from?!"

"So you really are abandoning us..."

Annabelle Linton: "..."

An utterly pitiful and tragic expression crossed Leona Grant’s face as he poured his heart out, "I think about you every day to the point I can’t sleep or eat. I ca out to ask friends for news about you, only to see you chatting with another man. Do you have any idea how much I’ve missed you while you’ve been gone?

I don’t even know how I’ve managed to survive. I can’t live without you. Please co back. If you co back, I’ll listen to whatever you say, alright?"

He was actually telling the truth. The "other man" he was referring to, however, was Aaron Wyatt.

A vein throbbed in Annabelle Linton’s temple. Seething with a rage she repeatedly tried to suppress, she snarled through gritted teeth, "If you’re so miserable, why don’t you just go die? Let go of when you’re done with your act! Leona Grant, don’t push !"

"I can’t die. I have to stay strong and live on for our son’s sake."

Annabelle Linton: "..."

Leona Grant spoke with such conviction, he sounded like a single mother enduring all sorts of hardships just to raise her child, as if this son was his sole reason for living.

He continued, "I’m not acting..."

In a flash, Leona Grant moved in front of her, blocking her escape. He gazed at her with sincere eyes. "You still don’t believe , do you? Honey, I know I was wrong. I’ll never leave you ho alone and give you the cold shoulder again.

When I have to work overti, I’ll give you a heads-up. I’ll co ho on ti after work. I’ll pick up our son, do the cooking, and handle the chores. I promise not to talk to any female colleagues at work. They say that love eventually becos a debt of gratitude, so just think of it as repaying you. All you have to do is enjoy yourself. Just don’t leave , okay?"

’I’ll pick up our son.’

Annabelle Linton closed her eyes and gritted her teeth.

’I’ll do the cooking.’

Annabelle Linton’s fists tightened.

’I’ll handle the chores.’

She could barely stop herself from screaming!

’How the fuck do you have the nerve to say sothing like that?!’

’A son magically appears out of nowhere! I can let the chores slide, but based on that disaster of a al you made last ti... *You’re* going to do the cooking?’

’Are you trying to poison ?!’

’Repaying ?’

’More like you’re fucking here to get revenge!’

The sheer thickness of Leona Grant’s skin was breathtaking; he would exploit any opening he could find.

Held in his embrace, Annabelle Linton was utterly helpless!

’In an argunt, she couldn’t beat him.’

’As for struggling, the bastard was holding her way too tight!’

Just as she was wondering what to do, a pretty young woman stepped forward and bravely offered, "Sir... I fell for you the second I saw you. How about we skip the dating and just get married? And don’t worry, I’ll be sure to treat your son well. I’ll do all the cooking and chores. What do you say?"

Annabelle Linton was so flabbergasted she was at a loss for words.

’Girl, marriage requires more caution than a stock market investnt! Your parents went through so much to raise you, and you’re just going to throw yourself away like this? How can you face them?’

’Besides, you’ve got a living, breathing cautionary tale standing right here. Are you sure you want to make the sa mistake?’

Annabelle Linton looked at the young woman with pity.

The young woman snorted, giving Annabelle a look that accused her of having terrible judgnt and failing in her wifely duties.

Annabelle Linton: "..."
