After contacting Brian, Sergei personally led the team to the computer room at NEST.

"Albert Wesker! You are still not dead; it seems that you have used so tricks on . When I find you, I will kill you!" To vent his anger, Sergei slashed his own hand with a sharp knife. Blood splattered imdiately, but the wound healed quickly.

Sergei has a hobby of self-harm; it seems that he likes pain. Maybe this is due to the effects of the T-Virus...
