Because Seb was the caretaker of the forbidden library, he had led his life under a lot of responsibilities and restrictions. So when he died and his skill activated to give him a second chance in life, he decided to live his second life as his heart desired.
That was not a bad line of thought. Elena agreed that people should live their lives as they wishes. But this perspective beca problematic if the person in question had evil intentions and desires. And that was exactly the case for Seb.

Instead, he tried to beco a top class assasin or ranger in this life, so he made sure to learn a lot about traps. Those were his main thod of fighting in this life and that was exactly what he was planning to use to fight Elena.

As she was walking on the road, she soon sensed the presence of a lot of traps ahead. Those traps were not effective on her but for anyone else, they were extrely dangerous.
Even after sensing those traps, Elena did not stop and continued walking toward them. After so ti, she stepped on the first trap. If she wanted, she could have easily avoided them. But Elena did not wish to do that.
The trap that she had triggered was a dangerous one that could immobilize a person in the spot. Even a S ranker would be effected by this. The only way to get out of this trap was to have a STR stat above a certain threshold to break through it with brute force. Seb had judged that Elena was not a warrior but a mage, so the chance of her STR stat being above the limit threshold was quite low. That was the reason why he was very confident in this trap of his.
But Elena was able to easily break through this trap. Her body did not even stop for a single second. This imdiately showed Seb that her STR stat was exceptional and he beca more serious.
After the first trap, Elena started to encounter more of them. The magical traps were quite powerful and most of them tried to effect her with status effect like Heightened Lust or Charm. There were also physical traps that had various kinds of aphrodisiac and love potions on it. This whole thing made Elena's mood even worse.
As for Seb, he was horrified to see Elena shrugging off all his well thought out traps. Seeing that he felt the danger for the first ti and started to prepare a powerful spell. Even though he had mostly trained as a ranger in this life, he had not forgotten his past life's knowledge as a mage. So even now, he was stronger as a mage than as a ranger.
Just as Elena broke through the last trap, she heard Seb shouting "Frost Prison". Imdiately a magic circle appeared below her feet and trapped her inside a large chunk of ice. But Elena just had to shake her body a little and that would be enough to free her from the ice prison.
Seeing this Seb was horrified but still he kept his cool. Without panicking, he unleashed his next few spells. First was a fire elental spell called "Crimson Nova" and that was followed by a lightning elental spell called "Thunder Maelstrom".
This ti, Elena did not took those spells head on. Instead she used her sword to slash once which destroyed both of the spells. Seb was just about to cast another spell but this feat by Elena surprised him and he stopped in stunned amazent. Elena did not miss this chance and cast a spell of her own called "Thousand Bind".
As soon as the spell was cast, a lot of vines ca out of the ground and tried to wrap around Seb. He imdiately get out of his dazed state and used various spells to get rid of the vines. But the strength and numbers of the vines were too many so all his efforts were in vein. After struggling in vain for a few seconds, Seb got completely binded by the vines.
As soon as the vines trapped him, he found that he was unable to use any of his remaining mana at all. He was also unable to move any part of his body except for his head. As Seb was panicking inside as this outco was not sothing that he was expecting at all, Elena slowly walked toward him while holding the sword in her hand.
So what would happen to Seb now ?
