The next day, Elena went to the academy for the first ti. She would officially join the academy next week, so she wanted to do a little observation before that. She also took Vista and Shuri with her. Shuri was trying to enter the college next sester so she was quite excited about it.
Elena had already gathered the basic information about the academy from the king and from other teachers and students. The system of this institution was quite laid back. There were two main divisions in the academy, the Battle Division and the Work Division.
The Battle Division was in charge of teaching the students the way to fight. It was also divided into two halls, one was the warriors' hall and another one was the magicians' hall. Even tho this division was called the battle division, the researchers were also a part of this division.
On the other hand, the Work division of the academy was for the individuals who were not interested in fighting and wanted to work as officials. They mainly focus on the history of the kingdom, politics, economics and basic maths. After graduation, they could either join so noble or royal families or they could join a wealthy rchant.
Normally one needed to study for 8 years from the age of 10 to 18 but there were also special situations where one could graduate early if they were talented enough. Most of the children from the noble families graduate early at the age of 16 or so.
This was just the basic academy. One could also keep on learning even after they graduated from the basic academy but this ti they would enter the high academy. One didn't have any specific period for the high academy. If your results are satisfactory to your teachers or you had learned whatever you wanted then you could ask the headmaster for graduation.
It was quite a simple system. Today Elena was going to check how the teachers were teaching and how the environnt of the academy was. As they got close to the academy they could see a large gate in front. It was the entrance of the academy. As Elena neared the gate, they opened and Ele and another teacher ca out from the academy.
The man introduced himself as Vosk and he was a teacher from the political dependent of the work division. They were the ones who would accompany Elena in her visit to the academy.

Shuri was in very high spirits from the beginning. She was kinda bored inside the house so having the chance to visit the place for which she was actually trying hard and an amazing thing to her. First they went to visit the schooling building of the work division. It was just a normal building where quite a lot of students were busy with their studies.
Most of the common people didn't have the ability to use mana or aura. For those types of people becoming a warrior or a mage was almost impossible. This building was dedicated to their studies. It might look like a person without the ability to use mana or aura had less chance of success but that was wrong. If you study hard enough here and show good results, after graduation you could beco a retainer for a noble family or even the royal family might hire you.

The Royal Academy was quite big. And the part Elena's group was visiting now was dedicated to the work division. She had already visited the classrooms, auditorium, library etc. What Elena had seen so far was not bad at all. The teachers responsible for the work division were all quite knowledgeable.
Obviously Elena had absolutely no idea about the normal syllabus so she gathered at least one teacher of every subject and used a safe mind reading to know everything. She went from a noobie to an expert within seconds with this thod. She believed that she should have the minimum knowledge in various fields if she wanted to be a good headmistress. And that's why she did it.
After completing the tour of the work division Elena's group took a short break in a cafe. After that they went to visit the main attraction of the Royal Academy, for which this place was well known, the battle division. Actually a battle division student could visit all the places that belong to the work division but a work division student couldn't visit the faculties of the battle division student. This obviously created a trend where the battle division always liked to belittle the work division.
The area of the battle division was also larger than the work division even tho the work division had more students in it. The dorms for both divisions were also different and battle division students' dorms had better conditions. Dicovolve probably created this system to increase the allure of the battle division but Elena didn't like it. She thought she had to change a lot of things.
Even if we forget the problem between the battle and the work division, the battle division had factions inside it. The nobles always acted high and mighty here and the commoners who got the chance to study here with their talent and hard work were most of the ti bullied.
But the commoner students who enrolled here were mostly geniuses and they obviously didn't like this fact. So to oppose the bullying from the noble, they created sothing like a small organisation. For the students of the battle division, strength was everything. If you're strong even the nobles would not be able to do anything to you. This commoners organisation had so very strong mbers so the nobles were not able to completely destroy it.
But this situation created a big gulf between the students where instead of having healthy competition between them, they were having genuine enmity. If all the commoners were against the noble then completely separating them might be a solution but there were a lot of commoners who liked to bootlick the nobles as they might beco their future employers. This situation was bad and Elena quickly thought of several solutions to it. If she wanted to improve the academy, this problem must be solved.
The ability of the teachers and the quality of the teaching materials were actually quite good and Elena didn't have any complaints about it. She was quite happy that she wouldn't need to change the teaching staff in the near future. The equipnt of the academy also had a high quality so that was another good thing for her.
As she was taking notes about the things she had to change, Shuri ran up to her and said with a very big smile -
"Big sister Elena, this place is so amazing. They had so many books on magic too. Will I really be able to study here?"
Elena smiled gently and said -
"Obviously you can. Shuri is a very intelligent girl and is also very good at magic. You will definitely be able to study here to beco a great mage in the future."
After learning about magic from Elena and Vista, she had beco quite fond of it. So she was very excited to see various books about this topic in the academy library. Vista also ca close to Elena and spoke in a low but proud tone -
"Fufufu, in my kingdom I had also created a great academy in the past and it was way better than this one. Onee-sama should just destroy the whole place and build it anew from the scratch."
"Haha, we don't need to do that Vista. I think what you said is subjective as the institution you created was definitely very good but humans might not like it that much. But I definitely had to make so changes. And I have a proposal for you too, Vista. Lately you have been doing nothing but lazing about at ho so how about becoming a teacher here ?"
