"Let's see...where should I go?" Dunn muttered to himself.
He took a mont to assess his surroundings. His weathered eyes wandered around the mansion's exterior, not knowing which direction to take.
Having been in many noble mansions before, his experience helped him roughly gauge most of the spaces and their functions from the outside.
Nevertheless, Oldman Dunn can't keep standing still all day long. Soone would undoubtedly approach him and ask his purpose for being here.
That was a scenario he preferred to avoid, especially given his spontaneous decision to visit the mansion.
"I guess I will just randomly walk around the mansion to grasp the dynamic of the situation here," Dunn decided.
There isn't much he can do. He lacks clues about the person he wants to search for.
Johann's grandson made fewer appearances in public compared to Betho and Darren. The reasons behind this were unclear to Dunn– whether it was due to his grandfather's restrictions or his personal choice to remain hidden.
Personally, Oldman Dunn is leaning toward the latter reason.
After all, Johann Klover openly stated his wishes for his grandson to take the mantle of the duke. So, forbidding his grandson was a move that had the opposite effect on that wish.
It is most likely Johann's grandson chose not to show himself despite his grandfather's full support. Being subjected to the scrutinizing eyes and derision by almost all of the Klover, especially the old generation, the kid may have low self-esteem.
'That's a bit inaccurate...,' The old man shook his head. He disagrees with his inner thoughts.
Johann's grandson is not being subjected to bully or anything like that; he's being denied of his existence altogether.
All because of the blood flowing in his veins.
The proof is that the old man himself is referring to the kid as 'Johann's grandson' and not by his na.
It wasn't just him; the Klovers, the servants, and everyone in this vast estate also referred to the young master in the sa manner.
In fact, the old man doesn't know the na even though he has been dealing with intelligence for almost a year now.
Moving his feet, Oldman Dunn continued wandering around the garden that surrounded the mansion. He has yet to step foot inside.
Despite looking like he was daydreaming, the old man remained alert and maintained his heightened senses.
'There's no information on his physical characteristics, his age or his na. He's truly a mystery or a ghost, I would say. How I'm supposed to find him?'
"Old man, you can't be here!" a voice speaks out of nowhere.
"Huh?" Dunn was baffled. He montarily stops thinking about Johann's grandson and looks around to search for the source of the voice.
However, there was no one nearby. "What the—"
The voice echoes once again, "Up here! Up here!"
Oldman Dunn looks up. He saw a young man peering out of the window and waving at him. But then, the young man abruptly stopped.
His expression changed from a friendly smile to one of surprise.
"Is that you, sir?!" The young man speaks with such a familiar tone.
However, his words made Oldman Dunn even more confused. The old man furrowed his brow, trying to figure out the young man's identity.
He strained his mory, trying his best to search the information about the young man in his head. Despite his efforts, the search bears no results.
In the end, Oldman Dunn opts for a straightforward approach, "Do I know you?"
"It's , sir!" the young man replied. But seeing Oldman Dunn still doesn't recognize him, he tells Dunn to wait, "Stay there! I'm coming down."
Oldman Dunn patiently waits for the young man's arrival.
After a few minutes passed, he spotted the figure drawing nearer.
The young man made a light jog before stopping right in front of Dunn.
He took his leisure ti to catch his breath.
"I never expect to see you here, sir. Do you work here by any chance?" said the young man, totally ignoring Dunn's confused face.
"Yes, but who are you?"
"Did you forget about , sir?"
"Apparently so, I guess," Dunn said.
He usually rembers only important things and forgets everything he deems useless.
The fact that Dunn forgets about this young man ans that the person in question doesn't have a high value.
'Maybe I should reevaluate the way I filter information,' Dunn thought to himself.
"Well, it's understandable since you're old. We only et briefly during our journey to Klover. We are travelling together using the Cozy Carriages service, rember? , the young scholar."
"Cozy Carriages? The young scholar?" Oldman Dunn rubbed his chin.
If it was the ti he was on his way here, he certainly rembered. It was a significant mory where he was about to start his new mission.
"Ahh!"
"Do you rember now?" the young man looked at Dunn with glittering eyes.
"Yes, yes." Oldman Dunn nods his head, "You're the kid who keeps pestering inside the carriage. No wonder I forget about you."
"Do you have to say it harshly?"
Ignoring the young man's sad expression, Oldman Dunn asked. "What are you doing here?"
"Rember when I told you soone from the Klover family sponsored my study at Ryntum?"
"Yes."
"That soone is Johann Klover."
"Is that so?" Dunn didn't expect that. He was genuinely surprised and also curious about the motive, "For what reason?"
"That's certainly because I'm smart." the young man patted his chest.
"..." Dunn give a blank stare at the young man.
"No, seriously that was one of the reasons. Another one is that I'm a playmate and close friend of his grandson since we were children."
"Oho! You an that mysterious yet famous grandson?"
"Yes."
"I see..." Dunn absorbs the new information before changing his tone. This ti he sounds a bit polite. "What's your na, young scholar? We don't have a chance to exchange our nas in the past. By the way, my na is Dunn."
"My na is Han Jester. Nice to et you again, Sir Dunn."
