Dunn shakes his head, "They don't care about the kid. They care about his grandfather."

As soon as the words left his lips, Dunn smoothly handed the task to his coworker.

Everyone who interacts with Dunn has no choice but to admit that this old man is slick.

He had a knack for deflecting attention away from himself. He does this all the ti to pass off his work to others.

It is safe to say this old man mastered the art of slacking off.

"How is this broom in my hand?" Dunn's coworker was so confused and shocked to find out about it. He glanced around, searching for Dunn to return it but it was already too late.

The old man had already disappeared.

....

"Well... that was easy," Dunn muttered with a wry smile as he passed through the estate's front gate. He couldn't help but feel satisfied at how smoothly he had managed to slip away.

Now one more person would soon add his na to their hate list. Nevertheless, he was far from feeling remorseful for his actions.

He was well aware that his actions had made many people within the estate unhappy. But he had no choice. If he works diligently, he won't have ti to go to the city. Going out during the night is a big no.

Dunn wastes no ti and begins to walk to the city. The distance between Klover Estate and the city was not far—only ten to twenty minutes of walk. The road was also well developed so the journey posed no difficulty for soone his age.

As usual, the old spy will first randomly walk around the city with no purpose.

In case soone is secretly following him, he needs to show that he has no set destination in mind and no specific agenda to fulfil.

Dunn had made a rule for himself to never visit the sa place more than three tis in a row. It was a precautionary asure he made, designed to lower the suspicion of people in the estate.

However, amidst the seemingly random anderings, there was always one place out of all where he would co into contact with a spy network belonging to the organization he served.

The rendezvous point changes every week. Dunn will be inford about the next week's rendezvous point in the current week.

Today, the rendezvous point was in the newly opened bookstore in Klover City. It was the first of its kind in the duchy.

The bookstore was opened by a book agent who had grown tired of going back and forth between Ryntum and Barlia. With the money he had amassed from selling books to nobles at exorbitant prices, he had finally gathered enough capital to open his own establishnt.

On opening day, this store generated so much hype that both illiterate and literate people gathered to take a look.

For many in Barlia, books were still a luxury reserved for the elite. Their value is equated with that of precious jewels or fine art. Purchasing these items required not only money but recomndations from current custors. All transaction was made in private.

They couldn't believe there was soone who would open a store and openly sell it.

Ding Dong-

The gentle chi of the doorbell resounded as Dunn entered the bookstore. Inside, he found the store was packed with many people of all ages, ranging from children to old people of his age.

Everyone seed busy flipping the book with great curiosity. Despite most of them being unable to read the content inside, it didn't hinder them from touching the book and running their hands over the smooth pages.

They just want to experience holding a book.

However, they were mindful not to treat the book roughly.

The owner has warned them that any damage caused to the books would require them to purchase the damaged item.

To be honest, they were tempted to buy it. The price of the books may be high but it was not unattainable. For those who were willing to save up their hard-earned coins, they can certainly own a book.

Among many books imported from the south, it was the fairy tale books that seed to be the most popular. Not only do these type of books has words, they also co with pictures. Also, the books were thin and the price was reasonable.

Dunn didn't stay too long at the front section of the store. He ventured deeper into the bookstore.

Here, the aisles were sparsely populated, with only a handful of people lingering amongst the shelves. This section of the store did not attract as much attention as its more popular counterpart at the front.

The books that filled the shelves in this section were of a different nature altogether.

Unlike the fairy tales and light fiction found at the front of the store, these books are academic-type, ranging from philosophy and history to mathematics and science.

They were thicker and more expensive. The pages inside are filled with words, complex diagrams, and equations.

The content was also far more challenging to grasp. Don't ntion uneducated peasants, even the literate nobles might find themselves unable to understand the topic written inside.

Dunn scanned the academic section of the bookstore. He didn't recognize any face here. He doesn't know if the person he will in contact has arrived or not.

Sotis he ets the sa person, sotis a different one in charge.

However, Dunn had been given specific instructions on how to announce his arrival at the bookstore.

He picked up one of the books on the shelves and flipped it open.

Sure enough, he doesn't understand a thing. The old spy closed the book and before he placed it back on the shelves, he turned it upside down.

"Old man, please put the book properly. The hard work of academicians in the south can't be turned upside down." A man suddenly approaches Dunn from behind and reprimands him.
