Yu Mingyi believed that the most carefree person in the Yu Family was Yu Laomao. Laomao did whatever he wanted, regardless of being beaten or scolded by his father. He lived according to his own desires. Mr. Yu wanted him to beco a pilot, and Laomao always pretended to be obedient. Chen Lin was already upset from the beating, and soone reported his mahjong, almost getting him detained. Unable to afford a al, he went to the fourth uncle’s house to borrow money.
By chance, Jia Xiufang was at the fourth uncle’s delivering dumplings to grandma and encountered Chen Lin. When Chen Lin kneeled, begging Jia Xiufang, she ignored him and afterward, thinking of his pathetic state, felt justice was served as evil saw retribution. So she called her daughter, asking Qian to co ho for comforting noodles.
"What’s so heavy in your hands?" Mrs. Yu noticed the heavy bags Qian was carrying, wanting to help her.
"It’s homade shrimp paste and cured at from my mom, she insisted I bring them for you all." Jia Xiufang knew her daughter received so much food from Yu Minglang’s mother, so prepared so homade specialties to return the gesture.
Nothing expensive, knowing they don’t lack such things, just to express goodwill.
"Thank your mother for the effort." Mrs. Yu smiled slightly.
"Auntie, do you have sothing on your mind? How about we go sit at the ice cream shop up front?" Qian noticed Mrs. Yu’s bad state.
Mrs. Yu quite liked Qian’s perceptiveness but felt a bit improper as an elder. Her worries about the second son caused emotional leakage, and since Qian brought specialties from her house, her face wasn’t good either. If it were soone like Wang Xiaohong, they’d surely think she was discontent with the gifts.
Fortunately, Qian was a sensible child, not picking on this.
"Alright, let’s sit awhile then." Mrs. Yu didn’t want to go back. After hearing what Yu Mingyi said, she didn’t know how to face the second son.
At the ice cream shop, Qian found a convenient place to talk, ordered two drinks.
