Lin Ze Guang couldn’t catch his breath. Being overheard by a beautiful woman while bragging about how far he could pee—how embarrassing is that?
So Qian witnessed the spectacle of a 190 cm tall, robust man turning red in the face.
"Let formally introduce you, i. This is an uncouth classmate I accidentally t back in school. His na is Lin Ze Guang, male, under 40 years old—"
"Yu Minglang, stop talking nonsense, go away!" Lin Ze Guang shoved Yu Minglang aside and extended his hand toward Qian.
"I’m only 30, don’t listen to him."
Lin Ze Guang and Yu Minglang were in the sa year at school. Both were very competitive and had been rivals since then.
Lin Ze Guang was slightly better than Yu Minglang in sports requiring explosiveness, like sprinting and fighting, but Yu Minglang surpassed him in shooting and commanding. Anyway, neither of them could stand the other, but outsiders always felt their seemingly life-or-death rivalry had an indescribable brotherly bond—though they both refused to admit it.
Seeing them bicker, Qian imdiately judged that the tall man had an extraordinary relationship with Yu Minglang, so she matched Yu Minglang’s rhythm effortlessly.
She extended her hand and shook Lin Ze Guang’s hand graciously, smiling.
"You must be an excellent friend of my fiancé. Hello, I’m Chen Xiaoqian, Yu Minglang’s fiancée."
The straightforwardness of the beautiful woman made Lin Ze Guang very embarrassed. Qian noticed how interesting this man was; despite his bear-like appearance, he was blushing.
He too was a genuine person.

Yu Minglang said mischievously.
Lin Ze Guang imdiately turned his head fiercely and yelled at him, "Do you think everyone is like you, starting school as early as a non-human being? Beautiful lady, being with this cunning man must be tough, right? This guy is full of bad ideas. Actually, we have plenty of excellent bachelors here, including myself. Are you interested in switching fiancés?"
"Get away from ! Get your paws off my woman’s hand! You really shouldn’t try to sow discord between us. My i is no less smart than ; she finished her college credits two years early, so you simple-minded fellow definitely can’t find common ground with her."
Hearing that Qian was a top student, Lin Ze Guang imdiately felt a great sense of respect and said seriously to Qian.
"I really admire smart people; you must be very intelligent."
Qian gave a slight smile, "This is not the place to talk. Should we move to a different place? I think you probably have sothing to ask ."
"You actually know our purpose?" Lin Ze Guang rembered that when he and Yu Minglang talked business, she wasn’t even there.
"My fiancé isn’t soone who mixes personal and official matters indiscriminately. His friends must be like him, so you are probably not just here to help him but have official business that requires our cooperation as well. So let’s find a more convenient place to talk."
Lin Ze Guang’s mouth ford an O shape. He thought Yu Minglang’s insight was already astounding; how did the woman he found turn out to be just as impressive?
Yu Minglang proudly hugged Qian, "Isn’t my woman outstanding?"
"Too outstanding... it’s a bit of a waste with you..."
Lin Ze Guang dodged Yu Minglang’s kicked leg and shook his head regretfully.
Watching their interaction, Qian further confird her guess was correct; this man was definitely an important friend of Yu Minglang, even though neither would admit it verbally.
In the car, Lin Ze Guang explained their purpose.
"Recently, a highly egregious case occurred in Lishi. The suspect disfigured the victim with a knife in an extrely arrogant manner."
To avoid unnecessary panic, the case is temporarily not disclosed to the public, but it’s being taken very seriously by the higher-ups. A task force has been set up, and a lot of manpower has been deployed to investigate it. Lin Ze Guang is tasked with leading a patrol team on the streets.
"Are you suspecting that the person who called my fiancée may be related to this case?" Yu Minglang’s eyebrows knitted together.
"I speculated there might be a connection because you ntioned soone threatened to use a knife on the phone. Please tell everything you know."
Lin Ze Guang was very focused while handling the case.
"This person called before. The last ti he ntioned using a knife, I hung up imdiately. This ti when he called again, he directly said he wanted to cut my face. When he said it, I started playing music, so listeners didn’t hear it, but I could. He spoke with excited breathing, and I suspect he was doing sothing inappropriate while calling ."
Qian recounted what she knew, and Yu Minglang added a few details, such as his previous conjectures, including age, night shifts, etc., in great detail.
Lin Ze Guang found it challenging, "We already investigated the call logs when we ca, but he used an anonymous IC card, so we couldn’t find any related information. "Did you check the street surveillance?" Yu Minglang asked.

Yu Minglang felt sothing was odd about this case; intuition told him it wasn’t that simple, but he couldn’t specify what exactly was wrong.
Lin Ze Guang nodded, "Until we find the real culprit, your fiancée’s safety must be a priority—should we assign soone to protect her at all tis?"
Although they couldn’t confirm the person harassing Qian on the phone was the criminal, based on procedure, Qian did not et the criteria for personal protection. However, Lin Ze Guang was willing to help Qian in his personal capacity. His team mbers would rotate and could accompany Qian during their off-duty tis.
Though he often competed with Yu Minglang, their brotherhood was deeply rooted. The fact that his good brother’s fiancée was in danger demanded his utmost effort to help.
"I will be here for about half a month, and during this ti, I will stay close to her. I hope you can solve the case before I leave." Yu Minglang decided to personally protect her, ensuring no harm would co to her.
