It’s because the brute is so good at pretending and doing things in secrecy that the actions for which he deserves ten strikes of lightning go unnoticed by anyone.

Mr. Ye’s face now carries two big words: smug.
He’s triumphantly telling Qian that no one can deal with him. What can be done when there’s insufficient evidence even if he did do it?
"You’re an idiot." Qian calmly says.
And this sentence marks the beginning of Mr. Ye’s downfall.
